Honda shadow spirit 750 or Honda rebel 250?

I am a beginner in bikes and never been on a bike on high way and I am taking my courses now and thinking what will be the best bike for beginners will it be the Honda rebel 250 or honda shadow 750 spirit. Bare in mind I used to ride a scooter 150cc for fun. I really need your advise because honestly I am lost here
