My old Elantra beat a Honda Civic in a race. How is that possible?

I could hear his engine roaring and he was way behind me. I didn't add anything to my hood or anything. I thought it was pretty funny because he had the spoiler and everything and I didn't have anything. The civic was a 2010 or so by the way. It looked fairly new.

Are Honda prelude transmission bad?

I want to get a 2001 Honda prelude and I heard from some reviews that the automatic transmission doesn't last long? I want to get the base model automatic by the way, but I'm not sure if that is true about the transmission? Also I will get it clean from a dealership with low miles around 90k-130k miles. I currently own a 2005 Honda Civic hybrid and on its review people said the transmission sucks on it and I haven't had any problems with it, so does it depend on how the person treats it?

I cleaned the carbs in my 1982 Honda Nighthawk 450 and now the bike won't start( though it will turnover). The red oil light also comes on while I'm not pressing the ignition.

I have a 98 Honda Civic and I was told by one mechanic that I had a "blown head gasket" and then told by another mechanic that I had a "cracked head gasket". Mercedes c 180 1st gen as first car?

Im 18 years old male and now and ive been looking for a good first car. But im also very tall (6'8" 1/2) and my legs are very long so according to my experience i didnt fit in any japanese car or mostly any hatchback. Then my friend has a mercedes c class from 1995 c 180 which hes selling for 2k and its in mint condition without any breakdowns in its lifetime. He told me that this is one of the last real quality mercedes and newer ones are chryslers, which are very unreliable. Back to a car. It has enough power in my opinion (120 hp), but im not the guy who would always race the car on every straight road to speed as high as possible. I enjoy driving calmly, not exceeding the speed limits. I know those cars are good on long roadtrips as they are known to be very comfortable. I personally hate toyotas and hondas (only toyota i like is a toyota century, but its reserved for japanese rich citizens and im from middle europe so its a no. My other choice is the Å¡koda superb if this car isnt good enough. Again, im very tall so i cant sit and drive little hatchbacks and japanese cars. I prefer german ones. The american trucks are not available here and full size sedans as well because this is how we have cars in europe.

Which of the two vehicles are safe for a long road trip?

Im going on a somewhat long 2 hour(each way) road trip next week. I have 2 cars and I don't know which one to take.

First car:
2008 Subaru. 62k miles. New tires, new brakes, all new fluids(besides coolant, which is getting done after I get back).
Only issues are that:
1) a TPMS sensor broke off and is rolling around in the passenger front tire(just did a rotation and noticed it)

2) Saw some oil coming from the CV Boots. Oil is gone now. Not clicking or making any weird noises yet. Planning on doing it once it starts clicking as I just got an alignment done and I drove mostly local.

3) steering wheel will sway abit sometimes at speed. It started happening after I rotated the wheel with the rolling sensor to the front, so i assume it's just not balanced.
4) clunking noise coming from passenger side rear end. Almost like a piece of metal hitting a heat shield or something. Only happens sometimes at 15-20 mph

Second car:
2011 Honda. 43k miles. All fluids check out good, new air filter. Tires have decent tread left but are 4 years old.

Issues:
1) alignment may be a little off(see a slight amount of wear on the side of the tread. Nothing crazy though.
2. Front rotor is warped. Shakes a little when slowing from 50 to 40. Completely fine otherwise.
3) headlights are a little dim. They work but aren't as bright as the ones in my Subaru.

So which one is safer to take? Are both good to go? Both are driven daily with no issues. Am I just being paranoid?

Can I afford a $15,000 car if I make $2,000+ a month and have a decent credit report?

According to Credit Karma, my credit score is a 736. I also make around $2,000+ a month depending on how many shifts I pick up from working 2 part time jobs. I'm current looking at 2 different cars at my local dealer that I'm interested in and can't decide which one I want, or if I can even afford either. One car is a 2014 Honda Civic 4 door manual with 5,423 miles and it's going for $15,494. The other is a 2014 Honda Civic 2 door automatic with 11,826 miles and it's going for $15,991.

I've done a little research and I've been trying to build up my credit for the last year. I have no debt and I'm just looking for a newish car to replace the one I've been driving for the past 8 years. I plan on putting $5,000 down on whichever car I end up choosing, but I want to make sure I'm making the right decision.

05 Honda element: Small you shaped rubber tube?

Recently hit a small pole pushing back the front left of my engine area. Was clearing out debris to insert a new headlight and stumbled upon this small 1/4 in diameter rubber tube bent in a square you shape. What is it? Shouldi be concerned with it? If so where does it go back. Thanks.

1997 Honda Civic window won t roll up?

Hi guys, I just bought this Honda Civic and the owner told me about the problem but I m just wondering how to fix it.

This is the problem: When the doors are closed the driver and passenger window won t roll down from the driver switch. But I m able to roll down the back 2 windows with the driver switch.

BUT, when I open the door all the way, I m now able to roll the driver and passenger window up or down.

Does anybody know what causes that?
I can roll the rear windows down fine, but not the driver and passenger window unless I open the door all the way.

I have a 2005 Honda Civic hybrid and it's a automatic but I saw on YouTube people changing gears on automatic and stuff and I was just asking since mine has S and L could I start from L which is first gear and drive then change to S and then D for drive? So it can sound like a manual car? Would the car allow me to change into those cars while the car is running or will it miss up the transmission?

Honda Magna VF700C Loud Noise?

Hi everyone,

I have been having this issue with my bike that i just cannot get an answer to. I have taken the bike to the mechanic but they would fix the wrong things and could never find what the problem is. My bike makes a loud clanking/grinding noise when the engine is cold but the clanking noise goes away when engine is warm. I have posted a video on youtube to let you see and hear the noise. Why is my car overheating?

1998 Honda Civic Ex
Its not the radiator because I recently resolved all of those problems before it started overheating now. The temp gauge rises to the H while I m stopped, driving and on the highway within 5 min of starting the car. White smoke comes out barely from underneath the engine. Looks like a hose by my splash guard. I recently change my upper hoses and added oil but no oil change in a long while. I m hoping it s not a blown head gasket. I know the car needs a oil change, New gasket value coverings, power steering fluid, and also a New o2 sensor. Any other clues. I see no signs of a leak but I do smell burning oil when I drive. Please help.

Trouble upshifting on a motorcycle?

I'm new to riding, but I understand the basics of how to shift (i.e. Close the throttle, pull in the clutch, pull up on the gear shift, release the clutch while throttling the engine). My issue is, is that I am slowing way down when I try and change gears. Am I just shifting too slowly? I read elsewhere that I may not being getting my RPMs high enough before shifting as well, but I'm trying to shift in the 5k to 6k range.
I have a feeling that my issue could also being coming from the fact I am taking it literally one step at a time (Close the throttle, THEN pull in the clutch, THEN gear shift, THEN release the clutch, THEN open the throttle again)
Any help would be appreciated.
(I'm riding a 2014 Honda CBR 650F, and yes I'm scheduled for a motorcycle safety course, but it's not for another month)

I've seen so many Americans that have been able to afford cars like Honda Civic Si EM1's, Toyota MR2's, Subaru Imprezas, BMW's etc for their first car. These cars being cars that I could never even dream of affording to insure as a first car. I've got a Renault Clio 1.2 and I can barely afford the insurance on that. How do they afford it? Is insurance extremely cheap in the US?

My Honda Accord 2014 won't start?

I just got this car a few days ago. The 2014 coupe EX-L. The car is supposed to start when I hit the break pedal and push the red "engine start" button. It's not working now. It only makes a clicking sound and the dashboard blinks a few times. Is there something I could do on my own or should I call honda? Thanks in advance for your help.

Honda Integra DC2 1994, Indicators don't work at all but the hazard lights work perfectly fine?

I have checked all the fuses under dash and engine bay multiple times making sure that they hadn't blown, the stalk is fine I have changed that over, my bet is that it's the wiring itself. Anyone know about these kind of things?

I have also found the live pin on it and connected a wire testing the current through it, when I do that it the indicators work, but the light bulb lights up so does the indicator on the cluster, but it never makes the clicking noise either.

Any ideas?

Passenger side window won't go up after radio stolen?

Recently my car was stolen about a week later we found the car and the only thing really missing was the radio which had been stolen. The window of the passenger side was also all the way down. Now, it won't go back up. Any ideas what could happened or how to fix it? I'm thinking it had something to do with the stolen radio and maybe a cable or something getting disconnected?

The car is a 1996 Honda Civic with power windows.

Hey guys, so i bought my first car a year ago, 2013 honda civic, its still an excellent car, and i can still afford my payments(financed car) but as much as i love this thing i want to start saving money to pursue other things.

As i can get around town where i live now and work with just a bicycle, dropping insurance and car payments would save me quite a bit of money!

So i ask how i go about trying to sell my beloved car! Thanks for any advice!

What are some good motorcycles for a person of my height?

I'm only 5'5" (if you want to get technical, I'm 5'-5.5") and I'm searching for a 500cc motorcycle.

Originally I was going to buy a 250cc as a starter bike, but I really need to be able to eventually ride on the high way while my main car (350z) is in the shop for a transmission swap, and I can't afford switching bikes like that, so I need at least 500cc.

If you're curious as to what style of bike I like, read below:

I'm not looking for the fastest bike, I just want a nice sleek looking bike that can be reliable and driven on the highway, but doesn't look bulky and ugly.

I do not like Harley bikes or bikes that look like Harleys. (Well, I do like them, but they're just "not me" if you catch my drift) I don't like oversized cruiser bikes either (the 5-6 bags and 3 antenna's kind). I personally like sleek and simple looking bikes.

I work 8 hour shifts at a Walmart. Im wondering where the best place would be to park a motorcycle (honda rebel 250). Would it be near the entrance, somewhere in the middle, or as close to the doors as possible? Also, other than a cover what else should I invest in? I work 4-12 so Im afraid it could be stolen while im working

Running live sound off Honda Generator?

Hey all! I have to run live sound at my school tomorrow and we may not be able to have extension cords reach out to our location on the field. I know that our band has a spare Honda Generator (it s probably in the range of 3000-5000w) that s available to us. My question is, with our current setup of speakers and amps (Allen and Heath 16:2 Mix Board, Furman Power Conditioner, 2 Seinheiser wireless mic receivers (we ll be having 4 wired SM58 s), 300w passive speaker amp, 2 1000w Yamaha DBR12 active speakers and possibly even our DXS15 600w sub (I don t think the sub would be of much use in an open field though), would we be able to run it off a medium sized generator? If the whole system can t be run from the Generator, can I just run the 1000w actives and connect them using 100ft XLRs? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why is my battery light going on when I accelerate?

I recently bought a Honda accord 1997. The car turned on it ran a test drive that and everything was great now when I turned it off I have bought the car ready the guy left that I bought it from. I try to turn the car back on. It didn't even turn over not even clicking so I figured I needed a jump and then I got a jump and then it died again. So I figured I needed a new battery so I bought a new battery put it in and the car runs fine but now the problem is, when I accelerate the battery light turns on why would my battery light turn on?

Leaking motorcycle carb. 1988 honda hurricane 1000F?

the T- fitting going into the carb is leaking.
i put carbs in and gas was leaking so i pulled the carb. And put some gas in the line and blew air into it and where the T-fitting goes in to the 2nd carb gas was squirting out
can this be fixed?
is there a gasket in there?
what would cause this?
i cleaned them all out last fall and thought they where done till i put them in and
O CRAP! Back to square 1 again
no carbs for bike yet… Very frustrating

I want to get a 2001 Honda prelude from my cousin dealership and do payments on it, it only cost $5,000 and I will get paid $800 a month from my job so can I not pay for insurance yet while I'm doing payments on the car? The car is a 1999 honda civic si. I lowered the car and finally bought some camber kit to replace the stock. I removed all the nuts. Problem is the upper control arm base seem to be stuck. It wont budge. I tried lifting it a couple of times.

Dual Sport bike for short girl?

So I am looking into getting my first street legal bike and am wondering what to get. I am 5'3" and about 150lbs. I ride off road with a Honda CRF 150F, but it's my baby bike (it was given to me, so I don't complain) I had surgery last year, and haven't ridden since then due to it, so a nice transition bike would be nice, but as long as it's not too heavy, and I can at least put my toes on the ground I will be happy. I like Honda (mostly because that's what I know) but if its a good bike, for a decent price I won't complain. The chances of it going off road are slim, I'm going to keep my 150 for trail rides, this will be my commuter to and from work, and school.

Buying a CR250 1996 Honda?

So I m buying a 1996 CR250 2-Stroke Honda from a guy. Its in mint condition. The only thing he says is wrong with it is it needs to have the throttle position jet (rebuild kit) replaced? I don t even know what that is. Apparently its $30 to buy at the Honda shop and $70 for it to be replaced by them. Is it easy for it to be replaced and not a big deal?

My car is recalled and Honda won't give me a loaner?

My 2005 crv has been recalled due to a problem with the drivers side airbag inflator. Apparently the inflator could explode, not inflate correctly, or allow metal fragments to pass through in the event of a crash.

I was at my local dealership and they told me that the parts are on back order and should be here by October. I then asked about a loaner car to which the service advisor said that they wouldn't do it. I explained how in the letter it said that Honda will give a car or provide reimbursement for a loaner car until the repairs are done.

The advisor smirked as said I was lucky Honda is even going to replace the part for free and that the car is now ten years old they don't have any responsibility for it.

Now I drive mostly on the highway every day and I have some concern driving a car with a faulty airbag.

By giving me the recall notice, didn't Honda basically release their liability? The letter says they will give me a loaner. The dealer said that's only on the day of the repair and only if the car will stay overnight.

Am I missing something here? Should I call Honda directly? Or go to another dealer?

How much is my Acura RSX worth?

I own a 2003 Acura RSX Base. It has rust which has been spray painted over (not by me) on the hood and trunk. It was the premium edition meaning it came with leather sport heated seats, air conditioning, a sunroof, electric windows and power lock. Everything runs fine and it has 201,000 kms on it. I also have bought a $500 exhaust system and a performance air intake system which has not been installed yet. Paint is fine with scratches and some dents, not faded. How to read the wear indicator groove in disc brake pad, Civic?

The groove is now about 1 millimeter deep, so I'm thinking it is time to have my mechanic replace them soon. But I don't know how deep they were to begin with. Is $2300 dollars for 2003 Honda Civic worth it?

I'm looking for a car to bring to school. The drive is about 400 to 600 miles. I found a 2003 Honda Civic on Craigslist and it has 115,000 miles on it. It's 4 wheel drive and has 4 cylinders. The owner described any damage to the car as "The driver's side view mirror semi-detached; power door locks nonfunctional. There is one large dent on the passenger rear that can definitely be banged out. There is minor wear and tear on the body as this is a car that has lived its life in Brooklyn. Photos of nicks and dents, as well as an area of peeling paint and the interior fabric imperfection" I'm not really concerned about the problem with the locks or the exterior, I'm more scared about ending up stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Saturn vue a/c not working?

I have a 2005 saturn vue with the honda 3.5l
The ac used to work then it started blowing hot air. If rpm's were high then it would blow cold air.

I took it to a shop, the checked the pressure while running (low side I believe) which read about 60-65. And even higher when turned off.
They said it had too much pressure and let some out (to about 35 I think)

Now it only blows hot air no matter the rpm's.
Also, when I turn the ac on I can hear a hissing sound now coming down from my air controls (but not with ac off)

The ac clutch IS engaging. But it stays engaged as long as the ac is on, it does NOT cycle on/ off, it stays on constantly.

Anyone have some ideas I can check befor wasting my money on another place?

Why is my gas lever sticky on my Honda Odyssey fl250 go-kart?

I have a 1983 Honda Odyssey fl250 go-kart and the gas is VERY sticky. I have tried WD-40, silicone, etc. I don't know if I need a new cable or what. I put a lot of WD-40 on it and when I pressed the gas when it was off it worked fine, I pressed the gas when it was running it worked fine, then I pressed the gas when I was actually driving it and it got VERY sticky again. Again, I don't know if I need a new cable, gas lever, or what. And it's the kind of sticky where I press the gas while moving, and it just stays in that same spot for like 5 seconds. It is very dangerous and I don't want any kids riding it until it gets fixed.

Should I buy this awesome car or not?

I m 19 years old and I ve got 40 thousand dollars to my name… I really want to buy a 2008 Mercedes Benz S600. The car has 83k miles on it and looks like it s in perfect condition. I m a car enthusiast and suffer because I wish had a much nicer car; I currently drive a 2002 Honda Accord. The S600 has a 510hp v12 and goes 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. The comfort and pure beauty of this car could kill a man. The dealership has had the car on their website for 344 days and they want $33,888 for it. I think that in December I ll be able to buy the car for $25,000 cash. If I can that would leave me with 13k after my college expenses. I ll get another 20k on December 1, 2016 though so is it really that big of a deal? The gas would probably cost me about $1,200 a year and I don t know how much the insurance would cost if I owned a car like that at such a young age? What if my dad owned the car and it was under his insurance and then I could drive it sometimes? Any ideas appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.

How to remove and replace a wheel hub assembly on 98 honda accord?

I have a bearing and hub unit that I want to replace I know as far as getting the steering knuckle out. How hard is it t get the bolts off and separate from the knuckle to replace? Should I wait for a day when I can bring it to a shop to separate it? Also I know the bots on the ball joints probably r cracked for sure what i see and maybe damaged from taking the suspension apart with my tie rod separator. Should I order new ball joints ect. So I can replace to? I alo have a warranty from Autozone on the ball joints. Should I get duralast again or order moog from rock auto? There are no sign the ball joints are really bad except the boot is already cracked, replaced probably 2 years ago. Maybe earlier.

Is my car worth saving or should I just trade it in?

I have a 2002 Honda CRV with over 200,000 miles on it. I've had it for about over a year now and lately over the past couple months or so it's been having a lot of problems that have been popping up recently and these problems being like I used to have a really bad oil leak that I thought was coming from the oil pan gasket but it really wasn't, it was coming from this valve right under my valve cover gasket and I just got that fixed yesterday. And before that I took my car to Firestone to get them to at least make my car driveable again because I have messed up the front left axle when I got into an incident while I was going across the interstate back in May and it feels like ever since that my car has been slowly going downhill no matter what I do to fix it. So far, if I spent about almost 2 grand on just trying to make it as drivable and safe as possible but I feel like the more money I put into trying to fix it more problems keep showing up. But at the same time I don't want to let it go because my mom gave it to me and I feel like I put in too much money to just give it away like that either. So, do you guys think its worth fixing because it still runs pretty good once I jump start it but with the new axel might be coming a loose, my battery/altenator possibly going bad, and my brakes might need replacing too because even when I put in park it still tries to roll; have to put on the emergency brake to make it stop completely in place. Any thoughts?

1996 Honda Accord Scraping Noise When Starting Car?!

It doesn't make this noise on every start/turn over. But the car does start every time. Sounds like a scraping/screeching noise to me. This noise started right after I had a new starter put in.

Why do advertisers call my cell phone?

I'm at the point where I'm getting terse and extremely rude at them because one called and asked if I had bought a Honda civic in the last three months at 9 AM for some reason. (It woke me up) Every time I tell them I'm only 14 and that I do not own a car or any property. The cell phone is under my name and not my parents' names. What can I do?
Added (1). Also one of them called a week ago if I was 65 or older and I said no and then they called me the next day and asked if I was 55 or older and I told them to stop calling me and they did.

97 Honda civic transmission fluid change?

I recently bought a 97 civic with just under 100 k on it. Car was beautiful kept with all service books. The transmission shifts perfectly but I can't find details of when/if it was last serviced. I hear that if you have a old transmission that may have never been serviced its best not to mess with a change as this can cause problems, is this true and also on those older boxes should I still use Honda new fluid or dexron as the book says either. 2005 Honda Accord Manual transmission problem?

Hi, I have a 2005 Honda Accord 5-speed manual coupe. The car has about 157,000 miles. The car drives fine except sometimes the gears grind. This only happens in two instances. One instance is when the car is rolling very slowly (about 5 mph) and if I try to shift into first, the gears will grind. The only way for me to get into first without grinding in this situation is by pushing it into first quickly and with a slight amount of force or just waiting for the car to come to a complete stop, which isn't always possible. The second instance of the gears grinding is if I'm in high rpms for 2nd gear and I shift into third or if I shift into third too quickly regardless of rpms. The gears will grind unless I wait a second or two between the shift. This only happens going into third gear. My friend who is a mechanic suggested that my synchros were going out and that I might as well buy an entire new transmission. Two other friends of mine who aren't official mechanics said that my car needs a new clutch. I personally agree more with the synchros going out. So:

How insanely high do you think my insurance will be?

I have 2 speeding tickets(8 points on my license) I have learned my lesson finally but I know that won't change anything. But I'm gonn get my own car next week and I'm thinking about getting a 2005 Honda Civic coupe with 90k on it (salvage title if that matters) I know my insurance is going to be high so how much higher will it be if I get that coupe? What do you do after you built a motorcycle part by part?

Im planning on building a honda cb100 part by part,why?, well because a full bike is too hard to find in my state and are usuall found in the east i dont really want to deal with shipping it and trusting the seller, i just want to know what to do after i bought all my parts from ebay, salvage yards, friends, random people. How do i go about licensing it exactly, if its to much work please let me know. Its not technically a custom motorcycle but in a way i guess it is because im building it from scratch.

Car overheats need advice?!

So I got a 2001 Honda Civic the guy I bought it from said it had a new radiator and rebuilt engine bought it for 2400 in March was gonna pay him the 200 later but anyways in May I went to Anaheim and that's when my car started overheating for some odd reason took it in ended up needing a new thermostat and the fans blew out hot and cold got that fixed but also there was a leak mechanic said it could be the gasket. Anyway 3 week ago got into a fender bender had to get a lot of new things including a new radiator! My car still overheats yet the mechanic can't figure out why cuz ever time they test it it's fine! Could it be the water pump

Should I buy a 2009 Honda Accord V6 or 2012 Honda I4?

I'm stuck between two cars, my previous car was a 2010 Honda Accord V6 EX-L Black, and it was wonderful! There is a 2009 Honda Accord V6 EX-L w/ Navi and 98k miles for $13K, I'm trying to talk him down to 12K because timing belt would need to be replace. I love the V6 quicker response on the pedal, dual exhaust pipe and it has Navi though I'm not fan of the silver color. The other car is a 2012 SE White. Love the color but its a I4 though it has leather seats and lesser miles only 70K and it cost $14K and the fact that its a 2012 and I4 it will last or a long time but I don't want any regrets. Which would be a wiser value?

Tailight but no brakelight on 83 honda 550?

I have a 1983 honda nighthawk 550. The brakelight works fine but there is no tailight. And the tailight light is on, on the instrument panel. How can i fix this? Is it a fuse?

What is wrong with my motorcycle? - 1

i have a 2002 honda shadow spirit 750. Sometimes when i start it i have to hold the start switch for like 6 seconds for it to fire up. It seems to happen after i ride for a while then take a break. I only seems to happen when i use the choke, if my bike is still warm enough to start up without the choke it usually fires up pretty quick. Also i use the choke in the morning and it starts up pretty quick. So it seems to only happen after i take a 30min-1hr break after riding for a while. Does this mean that my starter is going bad or what?

Full coverage or Liability?

Okay so for some crazy *** reason when I went to buy a car or lease from the lot, to put me on my parents insurance I was about 500 or whatever under full coverage… I'm 20 and had a license for 2 years and have no tickets or accidents, now before you go crazy understand my brother is 20 as well and he is on insurance with a leased vehicle full coverage for 250… WHY IS THAT? He leased a Honda Civic 2015. I got a quote for the same car its 500 to be on the policy. He has the same record as me also. We use Progressive as well. There are 3 people on the policy right now(mom dad and brother) also getting a quote on my own which is mind boggling, the rate is lower… Help please.

'm looking at a 2012 Honda Civic Lx for 13,500$. It only has 36,000 miles on it. It's at a Honda dealership. I really like it, but my budget is low. Do think I could get them down to 10,000$? I'm paying cash also. But I do want warranty. Kelley Blue Book says the car is worth 14,329. I'm really thinking that there's no way in hell I will get this deal, but if any of you have had a lucky experience, let me know.

I have a 2000 Honda Prelude with a tiptronic and I've been shifting the car into 4th gear as early as the computer will let me. This has indeed improved my mileage. I drive around the streets most of the week. But does this have any negative effects on the car? Just wondering. Thanks!

Replacing my starter costs 641 dollars for Honda Accord?!

Basically asking if I got ripped off. I went to go pick up my car today and got with the ridiculous price of 641 dollars for a new starter/installation. They apparently charged me 280 dollars for the part and then they charged me 289 dollars for labor. Now I'm no master mechanic but I know for a fact a certified mechanic can change out a starter in less than 2 hours. I really feel like this price is unjustified. Anyone with insight? The car is an 01 accord lx

Added (1). the inner tie rod ends are worn on my 2003 honda accord and i know its important to replace but is a bit pricey since i also have a bad oil leak around spool valve filter i need to replace, the leak is bad. I work 2 jobs and my part time night job is a delivery driver so my question is if i fix the oil leak first would it be better to maybe rent a car till i can change the tie rods, or will it be ok ti drive. I dont want my wheel flying off obviously.

2002 Honda Accord problem with aftermarket radio install?

Re: 2002 Honda Accord aftermarket car stereo installation Help Please! The fuse behind the brand new Sony radio keeps blowing immediately after turning ignition key. Ruled out the harness and the radio itself since both were returned. Tried disconnecting the battery during installation too. Pressed the reset button behind faceplate. Keep in mind that the radio fuse in the fuse box never blows only the radio fuse. Factory radio worked perfectly prior to install. Maybe has something to do with this model and year?

Transmission - rebuild or remanufactured?

My 2003 Honda Pilot's transmission is finally giving out after 210,000 miles. A new transmission is definitely out of the question. Should I consider getting it rebuilt or buy a remanufactured one? With a rebuild, do they just replace broken/worm parts, or do they change out everything? Now with a remanufactured one, I've been reading that EVERYTHING gets changed out and its also tested to perform correctly, like its original state.

Added (1). My husband and I have a 2005 Honda Accord with 253,968 miles and things are going wrong with it. My husband bought it before we got married and has had it for two years. We are thinking it may be better to get a new car. We found a Hyundai Elantra 2013 for 13,400, but we don't know how low to get. We wouldn't mind getting the car for 11 or 12,000. However, we still owe over 3000 for his Honda and we think it is between fair and good condition.
Added (2). We found a bit of scratches on the body of the car and some on the drivers windows so we were going to point those out today. We went yesterday an hour before closing time so they want us to come back at 5 pm today. We are college students who need a better car and we really need to get a good deal. I don't think the Honda will last us long.

Wanting to buy used car, how to negotiate the price?

My husband and I are college students and I only have one year left. We have a Honda 2005, that seems like there is something always wrong with it. Before my husband and I got married, he bought the Honda, but his parents told him he could only get that car or they wouldn't co-sign. The car still has 3500 on its loan and probably another two years of payments. It also has 235,968 miles on it.
We just took it for an oil change yesterday and supposedly the transmission is leaking as well as the axel, but we don't see any leaks.
Yesterday, we went to look at used cars and found a Hyundai Elantra 2013 for $13,400 and it has 51,000 miles on it. We want to get a better car that will actually last us, instead of fall apart on us and we do not want to put more money out on it than it is actually worth. I know this is a rough situation and the car is probably not worth $3500. I mean it is probably in fair to good condition.
How can we negotiate for a better price than $13,400?

93 civic crank no start… Help?!

We have a 93 Honda Civic 1.6L that was running just fine. It just started stalling on Us the other day. It took about 5-10 minutes to start back up. It ran for another 5 minutes then stalled again. My boyfriend replaced everything he can think of. Fuel pump fuel filter spark plugs new distributor wires. It still stalls. It has spark and fuel so we don't know what the issue is. Does anyone have an ideas?

04 honda civic ex overheating issues?

Ok so I just bought an 04 honda civic ex with 132k. About 2 weeks later started noticing car would goto hot when stopped for about 30 seconds or so but would go normal when moving. Also noticed coolant filling up the overflow and spitting out the top. So replaced the thermostat and it would no longer overheat when stopped fans kicked on correct times etc. Fan also works with a/c on. However after replacing the thermo it still puts coolant into the overflow. And it seems like only when it's middle of the day and hot outside after stopped and idling for more then 3 to 5 min the temp will rise but it won't goto hott it will goto like 3/4 stop and come down. When it's cool outside seems to not do that temp stays under half fans kick on and never rises. Engine oil is clean and not milky car runs great and no loss of power noticed and no smoky exhaust. I also drained and refilled coolant twice after thermo replacement. It's been a few weeks since I replaced the thermo and just added coolant and it took about a water bottle or 2 to top it off again. Don't notice any coolant leaks on the ground or anything. Been reading a lot of post and a lot of people talk about blown head gaskets. Could these issues be a blown head gasket or would I really notice when the head gasket is blown. Also with radiator cap off and car idling coolant will bubble a little bit when reving the car up no bubbles coolant just rises. Is the bubbling normal at idle? Could my radiator may be going bad?

I currently have a Honda 06 with about 104,000 miles on it and my mom said I can either keep my Honda or take her Mazda 6 with around 76,000 miles on it which she bought brand new in '08. I know that the Mazda has less mileage and is newer, but I hear that Hondas will last forever. I want my car to last me for at least a couple more years. I am only using it to drive to my school which is 2 mins away for the next two years then I want it to last maybe a year or two after to get me to my job 10 mins away. What car is a better choice for the long run?

Car died on me while driving?

So I went fishing last night and came back home around 4am. I was about 5 minutes away from my house when my car just died on me while I was driving. I noticed that the engine, battery, and oil light went on. The steering wheel was very hard to turn as I tried to pull over. I managed to pull to the side and stopped my car. I then turned off the car for a couple minutes then turned it back on. It started off fine so I drove it for about a minute then it died on me again. I repeated the process until I was able to reach my house. I have no idea what is causing this problem. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

What are my legal options for my situation?

My apartment complex had my car towed because I parked in one of the assigned parking spots. That particular spot is not assigned to anyone because it belongs to apt 210p in which no one lives in and I know because it's next door to me. I have been parking in that spot for about a month already with no trouble because no one uses it. The apartment complex doesn't have any signs that says assigned parking only anywhere. On the warning slip they put on my car it says that it was written at 11:15 am and that it would be towed at 11:50 am. What is the legal time frame they have to give me To move the car? If they don't have a sign saying its reserved parking what can I do? The slip they put on my car didn't have the vin on my car it only had the license plate number. It only said Honda and the color black that's about it it didn't have no signature from the office manager or other employee. What are my options?

I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won t start?!

It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won t start. It will sound like it s almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?

Honda ruckus 50 is not getting fuel?

My friend has a Honda ruckus, he called me because I'm supposed to be the mechanical genius but I have no idea what this, The fuel line from the fuel pump to the carburetor works, The fuel pump clicks but is not sucking any fuel, there is fuel in the fuel filter… But the pump still won't work. How should I deal with people who hand out unsolicited advice?

I have an autoimmune disease and suffered since age two. People keep giving me suggestions and advice on how I should handle my illness, etc. But sadly none of their suggestions I've tried and were unsuccessful. My mom's hairdresser whom I never met, keeps giving me unsolicited advice. I was shopping for a car. I had my heart set on a Civic or a Corolla. The hairdresser told my Mom I'd be better off driving a Volvo because Hondas are cheaply made, unsafe and get stolen while the Volvo was built like a "tank". I'm not the "street racer" type and I keep my cars orginial and take good care of them. She did all she could to get me into a Volvo and laughed when she heard I wanted a Honda or Toyota.

This woman also tried to tell me to stop eating Mexican food because it had MSG in it. I have tricuspid regurgitation causing chest pain, etc. I stopped eating Mexican food because of her suggestion and it didn't improve anything with my heart. Just before my father and I took a trip to Japan, she told my Mom I should be "easy" on my father and I'm not very considerate. My father and I take plenty of breaks on trips I mean, I hate people who form opinions about me, especially if they've never even met me. I know people have good intentions when handing advice but I take it as a form of discrimination against people with disabilities.
