89 Honda Accord LXI wont start?

I put a new battery in it and after like 30 minutes of trying to crank it it would finally start now it wont do anything the dash lights and everything comes on when you turn the key nothing happens i can hear the fuel pump cut on but it wont turn over or anything when i cut the key off i hear a loud beep. Also it has over 320k miles on it

I m thinking if doing a project and want to know what would be best with an engine swap?

I was thinking of doing a project on a Honda civic, I have seen S2k builds and had decided that I might try to do that rather then the classic K series or B series build, sombly because of the fact I want to try and stand out. I was wondering which motor would be better, the JDM F20C, or the USDM F22C1? I had researched and the only difference I could find was displacement and torque differences. I just want to know what would respond better to mods?

Bad alternator or bad battery?! Help?

I have a 1998 Honda civic, a few weeks ago I replaced the battery in it, it was over 10 years old and always needed to be jumped. Okay so two weeks ago I replaced the alternator in it. It was bad also. Car drove great. Two days ago the battery light came on, but I just ignored it. (I know stupid) Car still drove ok though. Yesterday my gages were jumping everywhere but I still made it to where I needed to go. TODAY I started it, lights were super dim, but I made it about 5 miles down the road and it died. Jump started it, drove it about a mile, slowly lost power, gages jumping everywhere and eventually steering locked up and car died again. Tested the battery it tested at 11 Volts so I left it on the side road. I am a woman, not car savy and dont want to get ripped off, I have bought an alternator before for another car and it did this, went bad, gages were jumping everywhere and car would barely shift. Replaced the alternator, problem solved. That one however never left me on the side of the road. Any pointers would be great. Thanks!

Ok, I know people will say I need to get a quote and all, but I have three quotes already for three different cars. My insurance company quoted me $370 a month for a 2014 mustang v6, $258 for a Acura TL, and $270 for a base 2013 Honda Accord sedan. Do you think a 2008-2010 Honda Accord ex-l would be more expensive than the sedan? Or the Acura TL? Around 100-120k miles on it. Im 28 btw

What's causing my car to overheat?

Hello, I have a 93 Honda Accord and earlier today when I was at the drive through my cars temperature gauge started raising slowly. I had already ordered and was stuck in there so I couldn't just pull over and pop the hood, so I turned it off for about 3 min with heater on and when I turned it back on the temperature was normal again. My question is if it's a fan problem or some sort of leak as when I was driving around town it seemed fine until I got to the drive through. And I checked the reservoir and its full, I had replaced the upper radiator hose 3 weeks ago and had no problems at all until today. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Back in June, my 2002 Honda Civic began to overheat every day. Repair shop put a new thermostat in and it ran perfectly. Problem solved! Or so I thought. It ran fine for about 6-8 weeks. Then it started overheating again out of nowhere. Another new thermostat was put in, thinking the old one may have been defective. My car ran fine for another 6 weeks or so and then it started to overheat again out of the blue. What the heck? Repair shop is puzzled.

Why is it mandatory to drive with one foot instead of two?

So I am 19 (I know a little late to be starting but I first drove when I was 15 and I kinda know a little and I figured better late than never). So my dad owns a parking lot with long areas of plain pavement with seemingly endless amounts of straight with no people or cars and he lets me since I was around 15 drive his Honda civic around his parking lot and around the long streets. At first he told me that I could only drive 15. He showed me the ropes and taught me how to use blinkers and shifting ect… But today he told me that I cant use both feet because it is dangerous and the driving instructor will fail me when I go for the test. I asked why and he didn't really have a simple answer. He kinda in a round about said that he didn't know why and it was just the rules. I question it because 1. I tested it and it takes around 1.289 seconds to take the foot off the gas and place it on the brake and plant it. It only takes about 0.289 seconds to just put down the left foot if it is already there. Sometimes when I would go to brake with one foot it would accidentaly hit the gas pedal. That never happens with two feet because they each have an assigned position. 2 feet, 2 pedals. It just simply makes more logical sense. I don't get the logic behind using one foot. Can someone please help me. I don't mind doing it I just want a reasonable answer. Someone told me that if I panick I will stomp both feet down but that is rubbish because I would still stomp the one foot down on gas
Added (1). So regardless id still crash if I panicked and planted the foot down. Which I never do when I panick but I have never gotten into a proper accident yet. Thanks for the help anyone.

Car: Loud Sound, No acceleration?

I own a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe. It is 200 miles from hitting 100,000 mi.

I was driving it earlier today and it drove great. But then I stopped to get gas, filled it with premium as normal.

As I pulled out of the gas station and hit the gas pedal, my car sounded like I just put a ridiculous muffler on it. My car had a deep growling roar to it's acceleration now, but my power was bled. It takes forever to speed up and when I punch it, it doesn't even try to shift. (It's an automatic)

I now have a "VSA! Is OFF" light and check engine light. Anyone have any idea? Bad gas?

I just recently got a car from Honda. A 2008 Honda accord & they told me to put $250 down to get the car. I have only had it for 2 weeks. The bank wants the car because im a temporary worker through an agency. My car dealer knows that i am because i told him & my paycheck stubs say the service name. I had a car i traded they cant sell me it back or are making me sign a finance paper for 3 years & i only had 1 year left. Now they are forcing me to get a car with a lot of miles & bad breaks & its a 2006 Toyota Corolla. They didn't pay attention to detail as they sold me it now if i dont take a car I'm car less. Should i sue the dealership for financing me a car & not paying or just go ahead and do a lease for a car? Help please

Which bike should I move up to next?

I have been riding a 2007 ninja 250 for 3 years now. I like the bike but its carbureted and a ***** to warm up. Its also slow so I would like to move to something a bit faster and nicer. I'm 5'4",female, not too crazy about speed, but I want something that sounds loud, and looks nice. I was thinking a honda cbr600 or gsxr 600, or zx6-r,nothing bigger then a 600, thats plenty of power. Which bike should I get next?

Where to find my 2000 honda civic serial number?

Yesterday I bought it in cash, not with a dealer. I saw that the radio didn't work and read online that I need the number in order to input the code. I looked everywhere, side of the door on the dash in the papers, and I can't find it. The only paper I'm missing is the pink slip and the guy said he'll give me that today cause I was 100 short with the money so could it be there? Or should I just take it to my local honda dealer? What can I do to get the serial number?

1999 Honda Accord - 2 problems?

1999 Honda Accord - 2 problems

The first issue is that the left brake light will not work and the Brake light indicator is on. The right works fine, the hazards & turn signals work fine. All the bulbs have been changed. Any clues?

Second issue… Car drives great. Took it on a trip & drove about 300 miles at about 80 mph. All of a sudden, I hit a construction area where I slow to a stop and the car dies. Start it again, move a little, it dies again. This continues for about 30 minutes. Took it to the dealership when I arrived at my destination, they couldn't find anything wrong or mimic the problem. Took it in to have it smogged where they run it at high rpms and when they finished, it did the same thing. Kept dying. Yet I can take it on the freeway for 10 or 15 mile trips and no problems at all. Please, please any suggestions? Thank you!

Any first car recommendations besides Honda and Toyota?

I was thinking BMW might be my only recommended choice because my cousins are mechanics, car mechanics and i'm close with them with friendships. Well, I'm planning on getting a car from them, and they mostly work with BMWs, just because they say they are good cars. They even recommended I drive BMWs, but to be honest, that is a good choice because insurance is cheap on BMWs, and they have told me a lot of good stuff about BMW, but I'm kind of dazing off and looking into other cars. I don't know what to get. I'm thinking about BMW, at the same time, I'm looking into other cars such a Kia, Volvo and some other cars I can think of.

My mechanic friends are willing to sell me a BMW for a cheaper price because I used to work with them as a Co-op student, when I went to learn about mechanics, I worked with them. So, I know they will recommend me BMWs. Its not like they will push me, they will be like get any car you want but if you want us to recommend you, from experience I say get a BMW. I see BMW is a reliable car, because every tme I go out with one of my cousins, I'm always getting around with him in his BMWs.

Honda Civic 2001 DX Coupe ignition key?

I recently had a break-in on my vehicle which is a Honda Civic 2001 DX Coupe and they broke the plastic cover on it. They were obviously trying to steal the whole vehicle and fail miserably since my dog woke me up and the police apprehended the suspect.

Long story short, since they were messing with it, I am trying to figure out what's wrong with the ignition/key area because my key won't start the car. It's locked and theres a tiny little orange light where the key goes in. I am no expert, but before I take it to the shop tomorrow I wanna know if there's a way to drive it instead of paying to get it towed.

Why is my honda civic 2003 EX overheating?

OK, so I took the car back to the car dealer where I got it and they changed the thermostat, head gasket, new water pump tube. I still see the car over heat and the reserve tank fills up to the top. Should unplug and empty all the coolant and change it with brand new one?
I just bought new reserve to install and will be doing tomorrow morning. Just wondering why it still overheating and my reserve looks full still?

PS: I just picked up the car today from the dealer and they told me if it keeps overheating then the radiator might need to be replaced. I need the car and want to see if it is a more simple fix where it just needs to get cleared from inside.
Added (1). I also replaced the radiator cap before I took it in to the dealer to get things changed so the radiator cap is new.

2005 Honda Civic Hybrid Manual. 130K miles and just got new tires. The only visable defects on the body is that the previous owner hit something and the bumper has a small crack but it isnt noticeable. It had always been kept clean. KBB says 4k for private party and about 2.5 for dealer. But what would you put right now? I am putting the money from the car sale, along with another 3k towarda a new Lancer. I was thinking that people will be looking for hybrids for their kids for XMas. Any advice?

I feel embarrassed for having a job in high school. How should I handle things?

So basically, I go to this really prestigious private school and I'm a senior right now, and about a year and a half ago or so, my parents completely cut me off financially. Even though they're really well-off, they refuse to give me money thinking that I should "work for what I want and need instead of having it all handed to me" because that's how real life works.
Long story short, to be able to move around and do all the things the people at my school do, I have to work two jobs and its STILL not close to enough. It's just so embarrassing. I mean, they keep on dragging me to places I honestly can't afford, but if I say that it's going to be really embarassing and also, it's going to seem really unrealistic because they've seen my house and the way my parents live. The only person I've told is my boyfriend. I can't help but feel ashamed that there's just so little I can afford, and also a bit jealous of my friends, who get to do everything they want. I mean, their parents get them Range Rovers and Mercedes SUV's and all I could afford to buy myself was a used Honda Civic from 2000.
My friends are just making it so hard for me to feel good about myself, and if I tell them I KNOW they're going to make fun of me. They look down on the sort of kids who have to get a job through high school. I already tried asking my parents and failed to achieve anything, I feel like they're just trying to ruin my life.
Any advice? What should I do?

Honda Civic EP2 Jerky Start?

I've just bought my first car, an 2005 Honda Civic Sport.
I haven't drove the car yet, but my Dad has and when I am inside it with him, the car,moving at a slow speed, especially when pulling off, is slightly jerky?
I have been told its just because the clutch is different, and needs time to get used to, but coming from someone who has drove for 30+ years, could it be something else?

So I'm looking into getting a sport bike and have narrowed it down to the CBR or the Hayabusa, they both look like great bikes and I really don't have that much knowledge aside from rididng and stunts. What type of car should I get- 15 y/o girl, compact width but high up?

My dad recommended the honda CRV but it's kind of like a family/grannie car.

I'm a 15 year old girl, just got my license, and I like to be a little bit higher up when I'm driving just because I feel safer.

However, I also want the "cool" type of car, a teen-friendly one, etc. Not too long, like the CRV which is 13 feet long yet shorter than I am in height. Just something simple with two rows of seats, the ability to play music, easy to drive and comfortable. I like the type of seats that aren't far back and indented but instead high and parallel to the ground (I'm tall but short waisted).

And, of course, It would need to be something I can find on Craigslist for 10-12k or less.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I am currently a college student who is commuting a lot back and forth and I am also a father of a 6 month old and married.

I am looking to buy either an accord or a honda civic because they are pretty good at gas.

I am looking for a 5 year old car or maybe older not really too sure. I still want it to be somewhat modern but around 5 years is probably the best so 2010 or so.

I dont know too much about cars so if there are better choices for my family and gas please list them, but accord and civic are the only ones i know of

I lightly hit a car, what will happen?

After leaving work tonight, I tapped the back of another car. I was looking out the right window instead of forwards. I wasnt going to fast because I was getting into a turn lane, just wasn t looking straight. I hit the car, and backed up a bit. The lady looked annoyed, and it was a family. She looked at her bumper, and there were a few scratches, and she wanted my info. I started digging through my car but couldn t find it. I told her that I promise if I give her my phone number, I will have my dad get me the info and I ll give it to her. Her husband didn t seem too concerned, when she asked him to take a picture of my license plates and my drivers license he hesitated a little bit. I was apologizing the entire time, and the husband said no worries, this stuff happens. The wife said that recently she got into a similar accident, and the person sped off, and she didn t want that too happen again. The car wasn t new, a Honda Odyssey, where the scratches almost blended in, because the car was dirty. They weren t bad scratches, but regardless, it s still damage. So what do you think will happen? Will they call asking for info to re paint a old bumber with a few scratches, or is there any chance they could just nod it off? What would you do? Again, they didn t call the police or anything like that, and honestly didn t look too concerned. The wife just had a bad history with stuff like this.

Honda Civic won't start after head gasket replaced?

I recently got the head gasket on my 99 Honda Civic LX replaced. When I got the car back the timing belt was slightly off, and the mechanic said to bring it back in a week and he would adjust it. It drove alright for a while, then it started to sputter at stoplights. One day it simply refused to start. The engine would turn, but when it caught it would die right away. Initially this was only during warm startups, but then it refused to start altogether. I had it towed to the shop and the mechanic was positive it was the igniter. He replaced that, but after starting once it had the exact same problem. I am fairly certain he screwed up something when he was reassembling the engine after the head gasket job and is just too ignorant to admit it. Any thoughts?

2002 Honda Civic LX overheating?

I bought this car and the dealer had its garage do inspection. I didn't realize they don't check coolant. So i put coolant and was fine for maybe three days. Tempature Gage was going up to red at stop, then back done when I push on gas. So I checked coolant needed some more, but there NO leak on ground. I have heat in car. And when I open cap in mornings coolant ozes out with pressure. Why? And how do I fix this problem of overheating?

What should I do for a vehicle?

So I'm married. We are very busy and don't have a lot of money.

I'd like to just get a scooter for driving around town and for the occasional out of town. Maybe a Honda PCX 150, that gets 100mpg and can go on the highway, although not too fast of course. The benefit would be that there would be a lot less to maintain and repair. Of course that doesn't go over too well with the wife seeing that it gets really cold and snowy here in the winter. This could be $5,000 to $6,000 brand new, then an occasional belt, oil change, valve adjustment, etc. Hopefully if anything breaks it won't be like $1,000 to fix.

We have an old VW Golf. The problem is that it needs quite a bit of repair. I don't mind doing the repair, but I don't have the time. And a mechanic charges $75 to $100 an hour. They are actually quite expensive here, charging a bare minimum $100 just for an alignment, which is why I've figured out how to align it myself (and I do a pretty good job if I may say so. I have to align it after any time I do work to the suspension.) It seems that that's just the way used cars are, always needing something, which takes away either time or money or both. When they break down then we're having to wait until we save up enough money to fix it. In the mean time there is no public transportation, so we have to bike or bum rides.

On the other hand we could get a new car. On the one hand it wouldn't need to much as far as repairs and stuff at first. But payments plus insurance = >$500.

How to resolve deceptive issue with shady car dealer?

This month, I leased a second vehicle with the same dealer. I am very happy with the car, and I got a great deal; but, I am upset about something. When I was signing the lease, the Finance Manager offered be a maintenance plan for $11 per month that covers all oil changes and maintenance. Based on the amount I drive, I think it would be worth it for me, but I didn't at the time. The day after signing the papers, I called the Finance Manager and said I wanted to add the maintenance plan. He said he would have to redo the paperwork, and the cost would be $21 per month since the $11 promotion from Honda ended at the end of the month. BS! To me, this is completely unacceptable not to honor what was disclosed to me, especially since the never explained that that the offer was limited. Even if Honda does not honor the offer, the dealership should pay the difference ($360 for a repeat customer? Not too much to ask). How can I go about getting them to honor the original offer? The sales person said I will get a survey call from Honda, and that if I give bad grade the dealership will lose its commission. Is that leverage? Otherwise, I am considering calling the Attorney General, the FCC and The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to report the deceptive practices. I will also tell the story on YELP! Please help.

Which is better 2006 Acura TL or 2008 Infiniti G35x?

I own a 2008 Infiniti g35x and I've been looking to do a trade in for a 3rd gen. Acura tl (2004-2008 model years). There is one in great condition at a dealership in my area that I will check out tomorrow. I want to do a trade in because I do not like the driving dynamics of the G35x. It's too harsh and unrefined to really excel as a daily commuter. I do not care about extreme sportiness, I really want a smooth ride with with some luxury amenities here and there, and maybe a dose of sport. I also want something with more interior and trunk space.

Some reviewers praise the 3rd gen. TL for it's smooth ride and compliant handling, which is exactly what I want in a car. However other reviewers knock the TL for being FWD and being prone to understeer and torque steer. But I don't care about that stuff. It's not like you can speed and tear around corners in an area with mostly highways and heavy traffic anyway, so understeer and FWD layout isn't a concern to me. I've driven numerous FWD Honda's in the past, and while they may not grip the road quite as well as my G35x, I just preferred the handling. They handle the roads in a very smooth, relaxed, and compliant way, which is why I was thinking about making the switch from an Infiniti to an Acura. What do you think.

Is it a bad idea to buy a used car that isn't completely stock?

So I found this 2006 Acura TL at a dealership nearby. It's an official Acura dealership that has great reviews all around. However the car just seems shady to me. It seems to be in great exterior condition, and it has low miles (50k), however it looks like the previous owner did some work to it. I am leery of used cars that aren't stock. There appears to be a body kit on the exterior and tinted windows, besides that the car isn't lowered and the wheels and rims appear to be factory original. There also appears to be a button missing from the door panel in one of the photos. I am worried about the previous owner altering the factory suspension and possibly doing things to the car that may be prone to failure later in the car's life and basically not taking proper care of it. This car seems perfect for me, matches my exact price point, low miles, has all the features I wanted, has the color I wanted, comes from the Honda/Acura family which is of high importance to me. However I want this car to last a long time and I am just leery about the previous owner tinkering with it in any way. I value used cars that were simply driven; not tinkered with or altered in any way. Seems like a great car but these things are holding me back. What do you think?

Switch near fuse box and dashboard on honda accord 2001?

I got used honda accord 2001 last week and i noticed a small on-off press switch down the steering wheel and near to fuse box. I read manual i didn't find what it does. I pressed it while ignition running it does nothing although it feeling like connected to wiring on back of dashboard when i touch it. I think previous owner added it for some reason.Anybody have some idea? Does it turn my car into optimus prime?

Car like Honda Civic Si but not a stick shift?

I'm looking to get a new car, and I can't seem to find the right one. My price range is around $25,000 USD. I'm looking for a car that has these requirements -
4 door, 4-5 seat car
Compact car, not a SUV
a navigation system that's touchscreen
This might be hard to explain, but the navigation system and the radio are facing the driver, like the Honda CR-Z (which don't recommend that, it's too small) and the Honda Civic also has it.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. That is a MUST.
I know the Honda Civic EX fits all of these qualifications, I just wanted to see if there were anymore cars that also have all of that, before I make the decision.
Also, a front wheel or all wheel drive would help, since I live in a place where it snows a lot. :)
The attached image is of the Honda CR-Z. That is what I mean by "driver facing nav/radio control" and that's a stick shift, which I don't want so don't take that from the example! Haha:D

I wanted to buy a car and after some research I finally found two cars that best suited us. We want a car that is spacious and most importantly reliable. We aren't going to be using the car for any offroading. We need a car that should have good technology features and entertainment. It should also have a good A/C since I live in the UAE where it is mostly hot and dry. I have chosen these two since they are both available for almost the same price. What potential price range of repair costs am I looking at for an overheated broke-down 1992 Honda Accord EX?

I just bought this yesterday. Really bad luck. Took it to Jiffy Lube and they filled the antifreeze and replaced the oil and everything. The car looked well maintained. Well, I think possibly Jiffy Lube didn't screw something on tight or something, because all the antifreeze leaked out and it overheated.

So my question is - what possible damage could have happened with a serious overheating coming off the freeway? It was smoking a bit. Seemed all from a hot radiator. I hope it's nothing big.

Any idea of a rough ball park estimate price range and any potential damages would be appreciated. Luckily I got road side assistance so I got it towed to the Honda mechanic but won't find anything out for a couple days.

How reliable is Chevrolet Malibu compared to Honda, Toyota and MAzda?

My mother is looking to buy a new car and it seems 2015 Chevy Malibu is the cheapest mid-size sedan available. The price at the local dealer is $17,500 compared to $23,000 Mazda 6. My Mazda protege has almost 200k miles and has never ever given me any trouble. However my 2009 Subaru Outback with 60k has been nothing trouble. So I was wondering how reliable are those Malibus? Do they need expensive repairs done often?

Why is my car overheating? - 1

I just replaced my thermostat in my 95 Honda civic, it fixed the problem for a few hours but when I went home and let it sit for a few hours and got back into it, it overheated within 5 min. I checked the oil, coolant, and there was plenty. However my fan was not turning on, and my heater was cold. So I wired the fan to the battery only because I needed to make it home and it turned the fan on but it didn't stop or fix the overheating. The fuses are good too… Please help!

1997 Honda Civic having trouble starting? - 1

I have a 1997 Honda Civic automatic that is having trouble starting. I recently got a new car and unfortunately neglected my Civic. It has say for a month now and when I tried to start it today it would turnover but not start. I put some gas in it but it didn't change anything. It doesn't sound really rough or anything, it just won't start. This happened a couple years ago and when my mechanic came to look at it he did something under the hood, like pressing a choke or something, to help it start. I can't remember what he did and I have since moved too far to use him now. Does anyone have any ideas or know what it was he might have done to help it start?

Throttle body cleaning causes idle issues (2001 Honda Accord)?

i just cleaned the throttle body with a tb/intake cleaner spray. Put everything back together. When i start the car is goes up to 1500rpm, then idles at 750rpm. Then it slowly goes down a couple hundred rpms, till the radiator fans are off for about 20 seconds. Then the fans come back and the revs jumps back up. This keeps happening over and over while the car is running.

Anybody know what i can do?

I have officially stopped believing in god?

I am a 28 year old latino. I have lived an efed up life. For example My 1996 Honda Accord car was stolen twice within a 4 month period. I am in debt 5,000 dollars and I can t pay it off. I prayed to god and all the saints to help me get a job for my city as a Solid Waste collector and they hired someone else. This was my only chance to have a good life. I have also had nothing but bad things happen to me ever since I can even remember. My family says the same thing that I am plagued with bad luck! I am a hard working extremely intelligent man with a high IQ but things just don t happen for me. I have prayed to god for help, but he is just not there. I don t think god exists because he helps other retarded people who don t deserve it but he does not help me. I am the type of man who does not give up and always moves forward but this time I have given up on god. I now understand that I am meant to live a life of misery and live under gods feet being stepped on by him. He has always kicked me when I am down and will never pick me up. Whatever but god is out of my life!

What is a good first car? - 1

Ok so recently I ve been looking into cars and trying to figure out which ones are best to get as a first car. I m 19 and have been driving since I was 14 so I m not that inexperienced. I looked into mpg, price of maintenance, reliability, style ( I care a lot about this one seeing as how I m going to finance and I want to make sure it s something slick if I m paying 300-400 dollars a month lol). I have narrowed it down to these cars: Ford Mustang v6, Honda Accord coupe v6, and Nissan Altima coupe 3.5. Any detailed comparison between these cars, personal opinions/experiences, or other cars to consider would be much help!

2016 Honda Accord Ex-L i4 or Ex-L V6?

So I am getting a new car soon, but can t seem to decide which to go with. My boyfriend and dad both say to go with the 4-cylinder but, since right now I drive a Toyota Camry V6, I feel as if getting a 4 cylinder will be a set back. I really like the acceleration of my current car, gas is ehh not too bad, and want my next car to be similar. I ve never owned a 4 cylinder so I don t know if it ll be to my liking. Should I just stick to what I m used to and get the V6? Or will the 4 cylinder have enough power to where it s not much of a difference? Also if there is a difference in longevity between the 2 that d be great to know. This might be dumb to ask but I am just not familiar with 4 cylinders except with my moms 2002 honda accord which has mechanical problems.

What amount of cc's is good for a beginning rider?

Everyone always says to get the Ninja 250 or the Honda CBR250R. Others say you'll get bored with the 250, get a 500cc or a little smaller. For me, that bike would be the Honda CBR500R. Everyone says it depends on your weight. Right now, I'm on average about 105 pounds. But I wanna gain up to 125 pounds. BMI said so… I'll gain that weight before I get a bike because I wanna wait a couple years before I buy one anyway. I live with my mom and she would never let me buy one. But I'm learning to live on my own. So, the real question is… What is a good starter bike for a 125 pound man who has never driven a motorcycle or dirt bike? I really don't wanna start on a 250cc or 300cc. 400cc's to 500cc's is where I wanna start. But give me your opinion.

Can installing a new relay go wrong?

95 Honda Accord ex coupe stopped turning on recently, I decided to replace the relay, now it wont even crank and makes a slow humming sound. The new relay makes slow clicking sounds and the radio doesn t work now. I don t know what to do. Could it be the relay?

2000 Honda Accord LX rattling catalytic converter: Diagnosis?

The flex-pipe just before the Cat is a little rusted through and is definitely leaking fumes. Originally thought this was the problem. Have to cut and weld in new flex pipe. But the loud rattling is actually coming from the Cat it seems, and I have tried pressing on the Cat housing with a rag but that does nothing to reduce the noise, so I am thinking it is the Cat itself.
I don't care much if the Cat doesn't work, but why would it rattle?

Honda Accord '03 Stutter/Shaking?

Hello, so this has been an ongoing problem for a few months, but seems to be getting worse recently. I have an automatic '03 accord (I believe it's an ex?) vin number is 1HGCM566X3A010867. It started off with a slight stutter, similar to the way a car acts when it's running out of gas. It seems to be happening more at lower speeds between 35 and 45 mph. From looking at the tach, it typically happens between 1500 and 2000 rpm. I've taken it to my local auto shop and they have no idea what it could be. There are no check engine lights currently, but about a month after I bought the car it did have a check engine light come on. The code was P-0420. After we cleared that code at auto zone, it hasn't come back on. So far, we've replaced the brakes and pads, spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body, and done an oil change. I have absolutely no idea what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated, let me know if you need more info.

I got a question, just curious, I have a 06 automatic honda accord v4, and I m wondering about how much hp my car has gained from the mods, I have kn intake, DC sport headers, Megan exhaust system, Megan test pipe. I'm 17. I am eligible to get my license October 9th and my birthday is December 9th. I was looking for cars even though I have a couple more weeks but to get myself prepared, to learn more about the responsibility of having one, the cost and insurance. I'm not looking for anything expensive or brand new because I'm paying for my car all by myself just for 2 months. I have 2 jobs and a senior in high school but I love it.
Anyways. I came across a 2000 Honda Accord and a 2002 Toyota Corolla from cars.com which I believe they are calling my name! Haha! Btw I will check out the cars in person and already found out the historys. But I wanted to buy it as soon as I can before anyone claims it. My dad is my legal guardian and has custody of me. He wants me to get a car and my license so bad because of me having 2 jobs and he's always too busy so he'll pay someone to take me to work sometimes. So he couldnt wait til my birthday. I was wondering if he could purchase the car and then when I get my license or when I'm 18, it could be in my name or my name on something? Recently bought an used car from my uncle?

He was stationed in North Carolina and bought the car there (has North Carolina plates and everything), he moved to California and that s where he sold me the car. I live in California and he resided here until he was restationed to A base near Seattle, WA.

I bought his 1999 Honda Civic from him with 169,000 miles on it for $1500, I consider it a reasonable amount.

Thing is, certificate of title is in North Carolina papers and I think I need it to be registered in California right?

My question is, what steps do I do to ensure I can drive the car legally and with all it s papers (aside from my license)?
I got the certificate of title notarized already. Do I send it to North Carolina or do I send it to my DMV?

I rebuilt my honda eu3000is carb, and now it smoke a few minutes after starting. It has only 50 hours or so?

I cleaned out some green slime from the carb bowl, and cleaned out the main jet. Then, put it all back together. Did I miss something in the re-assembly? It runs good, just smokes.

I have a 1993 Honda civic, it keeps overheating on me and every 20 min I need to put water/coolant. I just put a new radiator, thermostat, gasket and bottom radiator hose. Why is the radiator always empty and overheating?

Steering wheel Vibration?

Ok so I hit a curb with my old rims. The wheel was bent. So I decided to get 4 new rims and tires since I didn't like the old ones. After the new rims and tires were put on they were balanced perfectly and given a perfect wheel alighnment. Yet when I drive. The faster I go. The more the steering wheel vibrates. What gives? Could it be a rim or tire that isn't perfect? I bought the rims online by the way. They are remanufactured Honda OEM rims. I have a 2011 civic. The mechanic checked everything and said nothing is bent. This is driving me crazy

2007 Honda Accord won't start at all?

I bought my 2007 honda accord 4 cylinder used a little over a year ago and have had no problems since yesterday. I parked my car on Wednesday and didn't attempt to drive it again until Friday. When I did, the car would not start at all. No lights when I turn the key, horn won't work, no click sound, nothing. Also the break pedal is very stiff when I try to push it down. I tried to get a jump from a neighbor but with no success. What could be the issue?

What's wrong with my charging system?

I have a 1983 Honda CB550SC. A month or two ago I replaced the regulator/rectifier, and yesterday I replaced the stator. The output off the stator is ~12v AC at idle, and goes up to 15 at higher RPMs.

My battery is a lithium one by Deltran. I charged it over night on Monday (13.5v), and yesterday after replacing the alternator, went for a short ride to an appointment and back home, then was going to a friends house I got a mile away from home and it just shut down. I've learned to ride with a multimeter and it was down to 9.x v. I had someone jump me and left the thing at a friends place. So with my alternator obviously putting out a charge, what is wrong here? I'm at a total loss.

Another bit of info, not sure if it's relevant or not, is that my signals speed up with higher RPMs and slow down at idle.

Best First Car For a 16 y/o Car Guy?

Hello everyone!

I'm a 16 year old boy with a few months of driving experience on a 2012 VW Jetta (my moms car lul). I was just wondering, what would be a good first car for me to buy? I'm definitely into cars and speed, so I've been looking at old BMW's, WRX's, and even the Scion FRS but I know that insurance will probably be more than the car itself for these.

I've saved up a lot of money the past couple years from selling things online and making YouTube videos, so I can spend up to $13,000 on something. That would be the absolute max though.

What do you think would be a reasonable first car? Something that I can actually get insurance on? Also something that you don't see everyday like Mustangs, Camaros, and just the boring Honda's and ****.

No FWD, no civics, no integras, no ricers, and most importantly, no minivans, SUV's, or trucks.

Why won t my bikes start when they re hot?

i have two old honda bikes. Ones a 175cc road legal enduro from the 70s and i have a 500cc naked street bike from the 80s
they re both in pretty good shape and i got them with low mileage for their ages

the 175 is kick start and the 500 is electric

both are difficult to start if they ve been running for a while and they re hot. I usually need to wait 15-20 minutes for them to cool down if i go to the store or fill them up with gas or something

any idea why?

2000 Honda Civic randomly dies?

My 2000 Honda Civic dies while driving. There's no warning - no shudder or stalling, it just randomly dies. At idle, at low speeds and even while on the highway. When it happens, none of the dash lights work (flashers, gear indicator, nothing) and you have to put it in neutral to restart. It takes several times to restart and usually you have to push on the gas pedal while turning the key. Any ideas? No codes. Replaced broken distributor cap about a month ago.

Is it a bad idea for me to refinance my original Honda auto loan?

My credit has improved over the last 6 months and I would like to refinance in another 6 months or so once I feel more comfortable with my score. BUT is this a bad idea? Will Honda scold me for this when I go to the Service dept for maintenance? Or will other future lenders see me as some sort of unreliable consumer moving forward? I worry about this. Any advice would be great and much appreciated!

Engine Overheating Problems?

I have a '96 4th gen Honda prelude and I can't figure out why it's overheating. I've gone through everything I can think of but the car is still having problems. The water pump is good, replaced the radiator+hoses+thermostat and bled the air out of the system so that's all good. I did a block test to check for bad head gasket and the head gasket is fine so there's no oil mixing in the system. The problem started after I replaced the oil cooler o-ring. I don't really know how the oil cooler works but there's oil and coolant lines that run into the cooler and I replaced the hose for the coolant line because it was splitting. I didn't use the OEM hose so I had to bend the new one in an awkward angle to force it to fit but it's on there, could that be restricting the flow of coolant? I have no idea what else to check.

Honda Civic 96 overheating issue?

My car has been overheating for a week now, but it only overheats while I am at a stopped sign, and then it goes right back down. Never reaches the red line. When I turn on the heater, the temp gauge also goes back down. I have changed the thermostat, radiator, and water pump, plus timing belt, but it still overheats. Fan that is connected to the radiator (passenger side) is spinning. Now the overheat doesn't happen everytime I stop. Today, it has only happen twice. Gauge goes up just a little, goes right back down when I start to drive. Can it be the head gasket or anything else that I am missing? No visible leaks as well, and I did the pressure test to checks for leaks.

How long does it take to get a car back from the body shop?

Ok so last Thursday I was involved in a car accident, and my headlight is broken (but not beaten up or anything like it has a broken glass), my rearview mirror came off, and I have a dent on the lower side of my passenger side of my car. Ok so sometime this week the adjuster (I hope I spelled that right) is suppose to come down here to the body shop to like inspect it and everything. And I heard that if you only have minor damage and really good insurance that you may get your car back a little sooner. And there are 4 or 5 cars ahead of me and my car is only $500 worth in damage so is this true
1) the less damage the quicker you get your car back
2)how long does it take (my uncle told me less damage means more fast/2-4 weeks)
3)I have state farm insurance so does that mean it'll be faster
4)how long do parts come in
5)I drive a Honda civic coupe 2009 so is it like a foreign car and are those cars easier to fix and order parts
6)what else will they do to my car

Spark plugs covered with oil plus exhaust smoke?

Just got the carbs cleaned and working perfectly on my 82 Honda Nighthawk 450. I started the bike and just a moment later there is a white smoke coming from the engine and exhaust. I took the spark plugs off to aid in addressing the issue and I have found that there is a black oil on them. Anybody have an idea as to what s going on here? Thanks.
