A female family member of mine is getting a black honda. It is a 4 door car you know the kind. She is in her mid 20's, and I was wondering what type of accessories I should get her. Any ideas? Just anything you can suggest would be fine. She is very fashionable and like things like that.

2004 honda accord ex V6 check engine light codes p0157 and po158 where is the oxygen sensor in my car?

P0157 says low circuit bank 2 sensor 2 while p0158 high voltage bank 2 sensor? Yes both are bank 2 sensor 2.

One oxygen sensor is in front of cylinder 5 and the other is in behind cylinder 2 my car has 4 apparently. Bank 2 refers to the opposite of where cylinder 1 is at regardless of cylinder 2, correct? If so I found one 02 sensor so where is the other sensors or if one has a diagram has them even better there also 2 o2 sensors under my car on the exhaust pipes, dual exhaust?

I am trying to decide between the two. They are both the same price at my dealers. I am probably going to end up moving to Colorado but I don't think I will go off road at all. Which of these is the better car? Which do you think will last longer? Please help!

Honda accord 2003, Did I get rip off taking it to this mechanic?

In short, I have a Honda accord 2003 that were found problems with the alternator (non-starting), terminal battery cable (negative) and serpentine belt (cracks)

Mechanic charged me overall $420

Which is more important, lining up cam marks or crank mark?

I did some work on my Honda and when I turned the crank to line up the timing mark and then looked at the cams to be sure they matched each other too, I saw that the cam notches were off by a little more than a tooth when the crank mark was matched exactly. Then lining up the cam marks exactly caused the crank mark to be off a little bit (obviously). Now my car won't start back up and I don't know if this is the cause of it.

1) since both the cam marks & crank mark weren't in perfect harmony with each other, is it more crucial to line up one more so than the other?
2) Could being off by a tooth or two cause the engine to not start?
3) Could being off by a tooth or two cause damage, i.e. To the pistons/valves?

It just chugs and chugs like it wants to start but won't catch.
Added (1). I should mention that I put a screwdriver in the #1 piston, observed it at its highest position when hand-turning the crank and assumed this to be top-dead-center.

Why would a drive shaft disconnect from a gearbox Causing car to slip out of 5th in A Honda Civic EP1 1.4L?

I noticed one day that there was oil underneath where the driveshaft connects to the gearbox. I said it to the mechanic, he said it was ok. Few weeks later the car popped out of 5th eventually it would not stay in. Mechanic said I would need a new box. He installed one and instantly it still popped out of 5th. The mechanic said that where I bought the box had not reconditioned it properly. I drove the car because I had to. A few days later the car didn t pop out of fifth. I taught I may have mended itself. (oil got into all the gears). To my disappointment the car popped out of gear again about 1000 miles later. I brought the car to the garage that I bought the recon box from, I had contacted them the next day after the box was installed and informed them of it slipping out they wanted to see for themselves. The took the car and said that there was Very little oil left in the box as the driveshaft was loose. They refused to replace it. My mechanic then changed the oil in the box. It stopped slipping out for about 100 miles. I check under the car and oil was coming out from the driveshaft. I brought the car to another mechanic. He said it will need a new box. He said the driveshaft won t connect properly. He also said the driveshaft looks fine. Is there any other reason why my drive shaft would come out? Has this ever happened to anyone before? Is my original mechanic to blame? *also steering is heavy in the centre. Pretty sure it s a rusty steering rack or joint. Maybe wrong,

Power steering fluid keeps going below minimum level in my 2015 Honda Pilot?

Hi, I drive a 2015 Honda Pilot which I bought in June of this year. Since then, I've had to refill power steering fluid 3 times because it falls below minimum level after a short period. I have not seen any fluid drops on the ground. I will bring the car to the dealership but is there anything I can do besides refilling the fluid again, so I don't have to make tbe trip to the dealership?

How much would it cost for an electrical problem in my car to be fixed?

My car's battery has been dying on me two times already and this is my third time buying a new one. It seems that all the lights of my cars air conditioner/ heater turned off and its giving me difficulties to cool the a/c. Only the fan works and when you live in florida, you need more than just a fan to keep cool in this heat! I know the cooler is filled with freeze on but it's still not letting me function anything on my controllers, hence not cooling at all and it is giving off a really bad smell. It's a miracle actually that my radio is still working.
Also both fans are working just fine.
Can someone please give me an estimate of how much it would cost me to fix this? I'm guessing its some wire problems that is running my battery dry…

What type of car is safe for a first time driver?

I am 23 and just got my license. To most that is old to just get your license, but I am originally from New York and I never needed it before. I am looking into which car to buy and I'm torn between a Hyundai Sonata or a Nissan Altima. I asked friends but they recommend a Toyota Camry or Honda Civic. Now I'm even more confused. I will be moving to LA soon, so I plan on buying the car when I get there. Which car do you think is better for a first time driver? Thanks in advance.

Do you $800 is too much for a car loan?

Am looking for a car loan of $1400 I have all ready saved up $600 as my down payment so my loan amount would really be $800. I make 230-260$ a week I have lil to no credit history I could wait and save up the $800 but don t feel like waiting. I all ready check out the car I wanted which was a 202 Honda accord I even had my uncle check it out since he works on cars he says the car is in prettt good shape for that price rage.

How to get this nut off of my alternator?

I changed the water pump on my 95 Honda, the ONLY thing that's keeping me from finishing the job is the alternator pivot bolt is STUCK and won't budge.

When I removed the old pump, I was able to wiggle the alternator loose just enough to slip the belt off, but now that the new pump is installed, the alternator won't budge even a tiny bit so I've been unable to put the belt back on.

To top it off there's less than 2" space between it and the wall of the engine compartment, so my socket wrench wont' fit. The only other tool I have is a flare wrench, which I tried several times and it did nothing but strip the nut edges considerably. Soon there won't be any shape left to the nut. What can I do to loosen the nut?!

It's the one sticking out beneath the water pump pulley in the center of the photo below (it's enlarged so it might look like there's more space to get to it than there actually is, there's less than 2" in front of the bolt). It looks like I'd need a socket wrench to have any hope of loosening it, but I haven't found one in any of the stores I've been to that will fit. It's driving me nuts.

Are CVTs as reliable as traditional automatic? Why do so many new cars have them?

I'm about to get a new car and the ones I want all have CVT transmission (Honda, Nissan). I don't know why they don't include an automatic option. Specifically I'm interested in the Murano. I heard Nissan CVTs aren't as good as Hondas?

I tend to drive my car 200k miles and keep them for 20 years so I need to make sure CVTs can last that long.

What causes Feathering in motorcycle tires?

I have a Honda PCX 125 that the rear tire I have noticed has been starting to feather. I checked my tire pressure, it's at 40 PSI, which is where it's supposed to be. I don't feel any shimmies or hear anything out of the ordinary. I did take my bike to the dealer where I got it from and they said it could be my rear suspension. Trading in a car that I'm financing?

I recently started financing a 2015 Honda Accord in the beginning of the year with a 1.9 interest rate and a 3,000 dollar downpayment. I am paying around 380 monthly, and still owe around 22,000 dollars on the car. I have taken a liking to a smaller 17,000 dollar car from a small dealership that has around 45,000 miles on it. Added (1). They are changing the SRS module. They said sometimes that the vehicle could have already had a bad sensor on it and the SRS light will come on when a new SRS unit is installed, and, if parts are needed, is billable. I dont feel that is right, especially when I have not had an SRS light on before. Looking for what rights do I have under the circumstances.

So I want to learn how to drive stick shift, as I ve had my eye on a nice looking Honda Prelude, and here in America far fewer people know how to drive stick, which means it s harder for a stick car to be stolen then an automatic. Are there drivers lessons on how to driver stick at drivers school or what? All my friends and family have Automatics, and the closest I have is my current car being a 2003 TL which has what I believe is called Autostick where I can shift the gears one at a time with little computer intervention. I have bought a car two weeks ago and at the time we applied for 20k $ car loan, we deposited 8k and I was planning to deposit another 4k next week. I just bought a honda civic 1998 off craiglist for 1300. Its has 17k miles on it and has some problems. How to retrieve a screw that fell deep inside the timing cover?

Long story short, I was installing a new water pump in my Honda, and as I went to screw in one of the screws to secure the new pump, the screw slipped from my hand and fell into the timing cover. It's resting on the crankshaft about 18" down. I can SEE it but can't reach down inside to get it because the timing cover is on, and I CAN'T remove the timing cover without taking the whole darn crankshaft off, which I don't have the tools to do even if i wanted to. My hand is too big to fit in the tiny space. How can I get this screw out?! I can't finish the repair and put everything back together until I get this screw out. I was thinking to get some long pincers or Really long salad tongs or something like that. Or maybe gluing a small magnet to the end of a stick and hoping it will suck up the screw. This is driving me nuts!

The photo below shows pretty much what I'm working with. The only difference is my timing belt is off the cams so that part is loose, and on my engine the lower timing cover is still on. The screw is sitting between the loose timing belt & crank.

Please spare me the inevitable snide comments, the screw slipped before I knew it.
Added (1). I thought about inserting a rod of some sort with something sticky at the end, so I taped a few plastic drinking straws together and put a wad of packing tape at the end in the hope that the screw would stick to it, but it didn't.

Mixing 10w30 oil with SAE30 oil?

I have a 1970 Honda CL350 motorcycle, it calls for 10w30, however it may call for something different now that temperatures are around 40F.

I had the bike filled with 10w30 a while ago, but the the bike burns/leaks a little oil, so when it started getting low I added some SAE30 since I had no 10w30 left. Is this alright? Especially considering the temperature outside? Should i hurry to drain the oil and refill with correct oil or is this fine for now?

All the engine oil completely leaking from my B16A2 engine after a rebuilt.help?

I recently rebuilt a B16a2 engine on my Honda civic si 99. I got the head rebuilt and cut but not the block. I only replaced the pistons, crank, rings and etc. The block itself stood the same with no recut or nothing. Once I had everything together the engine started prefect and was back alive but all the new oil leaked to the ground and was force to turn it off. My question is why did all the oil leaked? I know it was not the pistons, crank, or other internals. And could had been because of the cheap thin head gasket from ebay that came from china or because did not change the head bolts? Or possibly both? Help.
Added (1). I just dont want to take off the whole engine again and take apart the whole engine or send the block to be re cut at a shop. I wasted alot of time and labor.

Should I buy Van with a bad PCM?

It s a Honda Odyssey. 250,000 miles. The body is mint. Transmission rebuilt 2 years ago. New radiator and timing belt. New brakes and tires. Cold ac. The only thing is that the computer is going bad and it s causing the battery to drain overnight. The guy only wants 500 bucks for it. I think it s a good price and deal. New computer from dealer is about 1200 installed. I think it is worth it

Also, there's a fair amount of rust and the mechanic said the whole exhaust pipe/muffler would have to be replaced if I want to replace the catalytic converter. I took it to a mechanic and he said that I needed to replace the catalytic converter or it would get clogged and could blast out a valve. 2006-07 Honda Accord V6 Manual or 2004-06 Nissan Maxima SE?

My wife wants us to replace our 1990 Nissan Maxima SE manual with something newer; she's saying year 2000 or later. To me, our '90 Maxima is a beautiful classic, but to her, it's just an old car.

What we like about our '90 Maxima:
-- Seats 5 comfortably
-- Manual transmission
-- Sporty
-- Luxuriously comfortable
-- Very reliable

I'm leaning toward two models:
-- 2006-07 Honda Accord V6 manual
-- 2004-06 Nissan Maxima SE manual

Accord advantages:
-- Even more reliable than Maxima
-- For 2007, the V6 manual was available in the light blue that my wife would like best
-- Nicer interior
-- None of the design weirdness of the 2004-08 Maxima

Maxima advantages:
-- Better handling?
-- Roomier rear seat?
-- None of the design blandness of the 2003-07 Accord

Other models I've considered:
-- 2000-03 Audi A6 Manual. A very nice car, and the AWD would be nice, but reliability is very low and maintenance costs are very high. Also, have to choose from the slower 2.8 or the 2.7 turbo with super-high maintenance costs (have to pull the engine to replace the unreliable twin turbos!).
-- 2005+ Subaru Legacy 2.5i. The AWD would be nice, and it would be easy to find a light blue that my wife like best, and reliability would be very good. But not as roomy rear seat for 5 adults, and not as sporty.

If you've had experience with both, what are your thoughts and suggestions?

2004 Honda Civic. All gauges not working. Rpm mph etc. Nothing?!

My sister called and her Honda Civic 1.7 started and none of the gauges start up. Nothing works, the whole interment cluster has nothing.
What can I check? Fuses, relay somewhere? The cluster itself is bad? Disconnect battery for a little to maybe reset it? Any ideas?

I know nobody will know for sure but if anyone has had this problem or heard a fix for it that'd be a great help.

Police photo radar van took a picture?

I was driving on the right side of the road. The speed limit is 35mph. I was driving 30 because usually there is a photo radar police van. There was a Honda accord driving really fast behind me. The driver that was driving behind me didn't know that there is a police van. He was driving more then 40mph. What happened is the driver was on the left side and when he realized that there a photo radar van he pressed on his breaks and he was right next to me on the left side. My van was way taller and longer then his car and the police van took a picture of me and i am not sure if he got the speeding car because the driver was on the left side right next to me. Are they going to give me ticket because they had a perfect shot of my vehicle and i am not sure if they are going to be able to see the other car. I was driving way slower then the speed limit because i drive on that road every day and i already know about the police van being there.

Car won't start but all the lights and dashboard work fine?

When I put my key into the ignition all the lights turn on however when I try to start the engine nothing happens. No clicks or anything my car just beeps at me 3 times. Any ideas whats wrong? I just drove it yesterday and it worked fine. I have a 2003 Honda Accord if that helps.

Dirt on the 1997 Toyota Corolla? It's for a school debate coming up?

Our school is having a debate between three cars. The first is the 1997 Toyota Corolla. This is priced at $2000 dollars on the road with 174,000 miles. The second is a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, priced at $9500 on the road with 95,000 miles (this is the debate team I am in). And the Third is a 2015 Honda Civic priced at $2100 on the road with 0 miles on it.

The person that is buying the car has $2000 dollars cash and can qualify for all available loans. They drive 15,000 to 20,000 miles each year. Gas is currently $2.10/gallon. This person makes enough money that they can put (after car insurance) $500/month towards the car (car payment, repairs, gas).

Each of these cars is a more basic model, so there is nothing extra fancy about any of the vehicles.

Our group already has fine disadvantages to the civic, but we can't seem to find many for the Corolla. Anything you guys have would be great.

I see pictures all of the time of fans with players after a home game at the Honda Center. Is this just for season ticket holders or where do I go to do this if I don t have season tickets? 2000 Honda Accord alarm malfunctions now car won't shift gears?!

My brothers car alarm often doesn't disarm when you unlock it with the key fob and will set off the alarm when you open the door. We still can't figure out how to turn it off it just seems to go off randomly or not all all until you disconnect the battery. So my mom is stuck in the car right now, the alarm just went off several times when exiting the car, then finally quit so she gets back in the car ten minutes later, starts it and can't put it into gear! I told her to try disconnecting the battery, so she's doing that and going to let it sit, but if that doesn't work what can she do?!

Added (1). I brought this car from this guy. He is a mechanic. He buys and sells cars. I think he bought it from a dealer. The car keys has infos about the car, the car is a 2002 honda accord. One thing that threw me off is that the windows have to be rolled with hand. My mom has a 2002 honda and it have power lock. What is up with the car. Did the owner lied about year or something, the car has 153 miles on it.

I got fired from my job. Advice?

I started working at a retail store 6 months ago. I've always been the youngest worker. Since I started the rules have always been a double standard. I would always get yelled at for walking off my register while another associate who should be on theirs walks right by. I was always on time and always did what I had to do. The GM even said I was his best worker. They gave us rules and I would always follow them while other associates didn't. I would take regular breaks while other associates left for hours but once I'm at my 46th minute the managers would bust in the break room & ask why I'm not clocked back in… I felt I was harassed most of the time for little things like going to the bathroom & when other associates did that I would have to handle the entire line alone and it was no problem. If I stepped off it was the end of the world. Even the newer associates got treated with more respect than I. I'm quiet and don't speak up a lot, but I started to get tired of the bad treatment. It made me very depressed & I started to hate that job. Every associate noticed how bad they treated me too. School got in the way of my schedule at times but at least if I couldn't come in to work I had a legit reason (and doctors note). After a while I lost a lot of motivation to work there. Last weekend I didn't come in and got fired for it (was sick). They claim I call out too much and my attendance is horrible (a lie) I asked him to show me the time clock and he refused.
Added (1). Other workers use their phone at the register and come in hours late all the time. I lost all motivation when I went to speak to the GM about how I was being treated and he began to treat me the same way. Everyone that worked there was in disbelief when they heard I was fired. They all knew I work the hardest out of all the cashiers and am very respectful unlike most of them. I'm even in disbelief that I was fired but at the same time not considering there has always been a double standard
Added (2). I'm actually relieved that I am not working in that depressing place anymore. The only thing that upsets me is that I was FIRED so that looks bad. (I was going to quit but I needed the money because I just bought a used car) [ 2002 honda:)! ]
Added (3). You would think there is another side. But there isn't. I was treated differently from the start but always worked my hardest. There is no other side and that is why it's unbelievable that I was fired. I LOVED that job, I HATED how the managers treated me.

Getting a car with really bad credit?

So my boss is going to help me get my license, because they want me at some point to be able to take her child out at least one a week. I'm a nanny, btw.

I'd be using their car while I work on getting my own. The problem is I have debts… And a credit score of 531…
I'm looking at the nissan versa which is about 12,000. I'm thinking of going into the dealer when I have 3,000 for a down payment.

My former boss' husband works in finance and has agreed to go with me because he'll know what to negotiate. I'd be able to afford around 300 a month. Is that possible? Or do you think they'll just say no?

My aunt is deciding on a used car, and she's wondering if she should get an Acura TSX or a Volkswagen Passat. They're both 2012 models. The Volkswagen costs less, but the Acura is certified-pre-owned.
I've heard many people say that Volkswagens are built better than Hondas. However, I've also heard many people say that Volkswagens continually give issues, which I know Honda and Acura products don't give (my cousin has a 1998 CR-V with over 300,000 miles on it). So I'm a 17 year old highschool student who drives and in time wants to get his own car, most likely second-hand. What is the difference between ultra high performance and grand touring tires?

I have a 2005 honda accord coupe ex 4cyl. I understand my car is not a racing car and I dont plan on using it.

I am looking for a set of all season tires. I am currently living in michigan and would like tires that have the least hydroplaning in snow/rain, but at the same time would like to use them year round. I am trying to decide between Pirelli Cinturato P7 plus or the Dunlop Signature HP

Hesitation and pulsing rough idle on cold start?

2012 Honda Civic, 165k miles. Been having a lot of hesitation off the line (picking up speed from a stop). When slowing down from 5mph to 0mph, and while stopped, my idle is rough and "earthquakey" in bursts.

On cold starts my car idles rough and feels like a pulsating feeling like the car's going to die. RPMs on cold start are 1500 and take 10minutes to drop to 800.

No codes, shifting is smooth. Any ideas?

flushed out my coolant system and idk if i should use green or red coolant. Does it even matter? I looked in the reservoir and it looked red but idk. I just got this car so i dont know what coolant is right for it, my dad already went and bought red coolant for it though… Was just curious if red would work for it.

My Honda 300ex battery is reading 11.49 volts. Is this enough to start the bike?

Ok, so I have a 2001 Honda 300ex ATV and my bike recently started making a noise when I hit the starter button. Its not a clicking noise it's more like a whine. Like there's not enough charge in the battery. I thought it may have been the starter so I swapped the starter out. Its still making the same noise. Like it wants to start but doesn't have enough power. So, I put my multi-meter on the battery and it's reading 11.49 volts. This should still be enough to still start the bike or should I charge the battery to it's full 12 volt charge?

my car wont start i had to press the gas really hard to get it going before but now it started smoking(white) from under the hood and smelling burnt every time we try and start it up. I saw leaking under the car. Probably the coolant because its blue. Not sure if a new water pump and timing belt would do the job and or if we need to swap the entire engine. Before this I noticed that the engine would get hot or shut off whenever we stopped moving and finally this happened.

Motorcycle engine cutting out when lights are on?

Just recently my old motorcycle (Honda Dream Exces 100, probably bought by my pops back in 2002) would shut off during neutral state when my headlights are on, except the signal and brake lights. Then it wouldn't start anymore. I have to turn off the lights to make it start. Then often when headlights' turned off, the engine starts but it was like cutting out and i noticed that the engine goes back to normal after accelerating it (in neutral state) for maybe 30 secs or a minute. Can someone help me, advise me what to do. Please.

Why are my breaks squealing?

I have a honda fit (2015)
I bought it new 3 1/2 months ago and the breaks are already squealing.
I ve driven 9.5k miles in it, most of which are a 100 mile each way trip driving to and from my dad s house, mostly highway, all but 2 miles are 65-80 mph.
I have accidentally left my emergency break on a few times, but never longer than backing out of a space until it dings(I only use the e break on hills so it doesn t cross my mind to take it off or even check)
It s an automatic car, it just started squealing yesterday and it s not every time I break and it s not excessively loud either. It just squeals when I m going slowly and lightly breaking, not when I break slightly harder.

my breaking ranges from very long and slow breaking when a read is about a block or two away to breaking hard due to idiot drivers that either stop too quickly for turns or zipping out of driveways forcing me to stop short. Most of my breaking is average.

I m not sure if it has anything to do with it but it s been getting colder here, below freezing at night, and I park outside in a gravel driveway.

It wasn t squealing when I pulled up to the driveway, but it started when I pulled out, it s never happened before.

I ve heard of breaks squeaking due to dust, but I doubt that s very common.
So do I just take it to a car wash that does the underside, or do I take it to a mechanic?

What are the basic things I need to know about cars?

I'm a junior in high school and I decided to take an auto shop class because I feel like knowing these things will really help me out later on. Anyways my class started on Monday and I found out that everyone there knows almost everything there is to know and they are just taking the class because they like it. I feel really embarrassed because I literally don't know a thing about cars:(. I guess what I'm asking is can someone help me get started with some of the basics like what cars are good and reliable and such things as parts. The only thing I have learned so far is that everyone in my school hates Hondas haha.

Why does my vehicle s rpm idle below average?

I drive a 1998 Honda Civic LX with 105,000 miles. I gaved my car a full tune up last year, including a timing belt and water pump replacement… When I m at a stop sign or red light, my car s rpm drops low to where the whole vehicle starts shaking. It feels so low to where my vihecle will shut off. What s causing it?

What's wrong with my transmission?

Ok so I have a 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 and this morning I started noticing something wrong with my transmission because the D4 was flashing. Normally when I drive from a complete stop it shifts normally and shifts twice to get to about 42 mph. But today it shifted from 1st gear at a high RPM and when I tried to get it to shift into second gear it wouldn't shift to second. And normally when I'm driving at 55 mph and I put my car in cruise control the RPM stats at about 1600-1800RPM. But when I did it today it stayed at 3,000 RPM. I have an automatic transmission. Can anybody tell me what's wrong?

Replacing PCV valve in a 2012 Civic?

When replacing the PCV valve in a 2012 Honda Civic, is there any potential for oil to leak out while replacing it?

Not sure if I can just unscrew the PCV and replace it, or if I need to do some sort of prep beforehand to prevent oil from escaping?

Could antifreeze be in the engine?

Recently I had an issue where my 1996 Honda Civic temp gauge started to rise. I stopped the car to let it cool. I got to my destination and called husband to bring antifreeze to fill it back up. I drove it home that night and parked it. Found the problem was the radiator cap. Well now I am noticing when I start the engine it sounds like it struggles and the RPMs rise higher than normal. It idles fine after a moment. Could this mean antifreeze leaked into the engine?

What happens if you drive a car in second gear at high speed for quite some distance?

I have a new Honda with little less than 1200 miles on it. Today while driving the car I put the gear in S (2) and drove at speed of 50+ mph for around 6-7 miles.
I felt something off about the car as the RPM was between 3500 to 4000 r/min while usually it is between 1500 to 2000 r/min. Also the engine sound was not it usual quite sound that comes - I thought because of the cold weather maybe it was sounding louder.
It was after stopping at a couple of red lights that I noticed that gear was at S(2)
I am quite paranoid about my car and mode of transportation.
Could someone let me know what are the effects of my driving?

White steam/smoke coming from hood of car and car occasionally overheats?

It's a 2000 Honda Civic.

Over the last 6 months I have replaced the radiator, radiator hoses, and gasket. I had some trouble a few days ago on a road trip and was told I had air in the system. They fixed it and she drove fine for the next couple of days, but then started overheating again. I pulled over, put in a little radiator fluid and she was fine for the rest of the trip - going full speed, stop and go traffic, everything. Haven't had trouble since, except there's this white steam (that smells funny. Not sure how to describe it) coming from under the hood more and more. The car is not overheating when the steam is coming off.

My suspicion is that I put in the wrong combination of coolant and water recently (before I bought the pre-diluted stuff that I've used since) and that that is causing the trouble. But I know almost nothing about cars, so I can't be sure.

Any suggestions? I don't really want to take it back to a mechanic because I've been taking it to mechanics for the last 6+ months and they keep telling me different things. Thank you!

Dealership grossly misdiagnosed my car's malfunction?

I brought my newly purchased car(2013 Honda Accord) to my dealership due to mechanical and computer malfunctions. Basically, when I started the car one morning, all of the dash warning lights came on but the speedometer and tach were not reading anything. It was like the computer glitched and nothing was working correctly. The dealership said the malfunction was covered under my warranty and they would replace the dash lights and possibly the ECU to fix the problem at no cost to me. Great! They called me after a week of silence saying that neither of those were the culprit and they happened to "discover" chewed through wires from a rodent. Now they are saying the previous misdiagnosed repairs will not be covered and if I do not file an insurance claim I will have to pay $3300 for their misdiagnosis! How should I handle this? Is it too much to assume that checking those wires should have been first on their list? Now I have a new ECU that was not needed but they claim they cannot return it because it has already been programmed to the car. Help!

Sold a car and now they want to sue me?

So I recently sold my Honda for $1400. I m no mechanic and told the buyer that several times. I m 19 years old with no history in working on cars. Well anyways the buyer drove the car (I didn t even ride with them, and did not tell them they had a limit on how far to drive.). They had there neighbor come over who "knew all about cars" and he said it was worth buying. Now they took the car to the mechanic a couple days after buying and he found a lot of rust underneath and the brakes were acting up. The mechanic told them that there was no way I didn t know about the mechanical problems with the car. So then she texts me and tells me she wants a full refund. I told her the car was sold as is and that I didn t know about any of the problems. I drove the car 90 miles a day without ever having issues. So do you think she has a case at all? I never told her she couldn t take the car to the mechanic first, and did not hide the car at all. I wouldn t have cared one bit if the guy who "knew all about cars" crawled under and inspected it further. I didn t get a bill of sale but i am under the impression that all sales are "as is" without a written warranty. Also I am in Missouri if that helps.

96 Honda civic engine trouble?

I have a 96 Honda Civic. It had a coolant leak on the driver side and I put a radiator stop leak in it.It stopped the leak but now the engine is shaking and it takes 20mins+ for the heat to turn on, if at all. I'm thinking the leak stuff gunked it up but I'm not sure. What could it be. Also I moved from a warmer climate place to a much colder place, could the car just not be used to such cold,especially with it being cold?
