Can't figure out what type of car to purchase?

Okay so I plan on purchasing my first car soon the only problem I'm having is deciding on what to buy. I want to have a car that's nice, that I could black out the whole thing and have some nice rims and it not look like a piece of crap. I don't want to drive a car that's a nasty old beat/supped up honda civic that's not what I'm aiming for. I do not have an interest in tuner cars. However I want a car that looks sharp, like a scion tv with some nice rims and tinted windows and headlights. Do you know of any cars that I could do this to and it look sharp not tacky?

It's a late 90's or early 2000's with 171k miles on it. It's clean and I don't hear, see, or feel anything mechanically wrong with it. I do know a lot about Honda's but I'm clueless on Saturns. They want $1500 cash for it at the car dealership. Is it worth it?

What's a cool first motorcycle?

I turn 16 in a week and am about to purchase my first street bike. I'm torn between a sport bike or cruiser. My parents want me to get a cruiser because they're scared of me on a sport bike lol. (I've rode dirtbikes since age 7 btw) If I go towards the cruiser route I would want something bada$$. I love bobber bikes. The Cleveland cycle works the heist is really cool being only 230cc and $3000 new. What are some other bikes like that? The honda rebel and the v star isn't bad but they don't look that cool. If I go the street bike route Should I get a 250 to start on? They just seem like no fun because they have no power. My budget is around $2000.

She is doing 72 month payments and her monthly payments are 399 the dealership financing manger said. Im wondering if this is about right or crazy. Eventhough she had a credit score of 620 thats what they offered and she took it.

The guy who changed my oil did something?

I have a 2011 Honda Civic LX, I went to the honda dealership where I got the car for a routine servicing: they did everything. I got the car back when I got home I noticed the part on the dashboard that tells me how many miles are on the car didn't have the milage, but it says "oil life 100%" how do I change it back so that I can see the mileage on the car? It's no big not I just like to know what my miles are, last I seen it was at 45,000

Recently I noticed that my Car have emply Oil chamber when I went to Oil change, this happened second time in a raw.

Prabarly i drove 3000KM on each time when i changed oil.

Right now car drive smooth, no smoke, no smell.

Please help to diagnose the issue.

01 Honda CBR 600 F4i idling funny?

I have a 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i, it has always blinked the FI light 2 blinks since I have bought it but ran fine, 2 blinks is for MAP sensor or vacuum hose. Then recently it started stalling and blinking 1 time which is MAP sensor code. So I removed the gas tank and air box, unhooked the MAP sensor and checked the vacuum hoses, everything looked fine and I put it all back together.

After putting it back together it didn't have any FI light blinking anymore but was idling high at around 4k rpm. I figured maybe one of the vacuum hoses came off while putting it together causing it to idle high so I tore it down again and all the hoses were good.

After putting it back together the second time it idles around 2k rpm but jumps around up and down and even stalled itself out.

Anyone have any ideas what it may be? I ordered a MAP sensor and it should arrive this week but I'm not sure that's the issue, their is no light blinking anymore.

Can I return a used car to dealer if they refuse to perform repairs as stated in the sales contract?

In October of 2013, I purchased a 2011 model year Honda minivan with 32,000 miles from a domestic brand dealer in NJ. As part of the purchasing agreement, the dealer stated on the sales invoice/contract that they would repair/replace a damaged control panel that I had noticed prior to purchase. Since this was my only concern and the everything else looked ok, we went forward with the transaction. They said they would order the part and that I would be hearing from them in a few weeks…
It is now 10 MONTHS LATER and despite dozens of calls and a visit back to to the dealer, no repairs have been done. Its gotten to the point where the manager will no longer return my calls. I am very reasonable and have been very patient but this has gone on long enough. The entire experience with the dealer after the sale has been atrocious.

Do I have grounds to return the car due to a breach of contract? If not, what recourse options do I have? Thanks.

Was in a minor accident air bags deployed but only minor bumper damage now it wont start engine not getting gas and spark plugs not firing. No kill switch on this model… Does anybody know WTF is wrong with it?

My tire rubbing the inside of my fender?

I just want to know why. I drive a honda 90 honda civic. The tire profiles are 195 60. Before anyone says it the tires, this only happens to the passenger side of the car and only when I brake. Also when I burn rubber that same side vibrates more than the right side. I know it's a suspension problem I would just like to narrow it down.

Why is my 1999 honda cbr600 f4 not starting?

Its my first bike got it from a guy it wasnt running but would start it had a fuel delivery problem i went through the whole fuel system carbs fuel pump filter vac and fuel line and now it wont start when i first go out in the mourning to try to start it on the first push of the button it will backfire but not start second push of the button it will start but it struggles like it not getting gas and dies after about 10 or 15 seconds after that it won't start at all til the next mourning and does the same thing all over again. What could it be?

Automatic on a hill-rollback?

hiya im about to purchase a Honda I-drive and im told that on a hill it will rollback on the test drive there was a slight hill but it didn't roll back, so what will happen on a steeper hill.
is it best procedure in stop start travel on a hill when its not appropriate to use the hand brake.

Radiator problems in Honda?

The past week my 2002 honda accord has been losing water out of the radiator and reservoir. When I'm in heavy traffic the temp hand goes up but once I start driving it goes down. I could fill my radiator with water and drive 10 miles and it would be empty again. Well yesterday I filled it and have driven about 100 miles during the day and it's still full and temp hand didn't go up at all. What would cause this and then cause it to stop?

What's a reasonable cost for a break line fix on a 96 Honda Accord?

I have a 96 Honda Accord that has a pinhole in one of my rear break lines. How much would the part be to replace the line, and how long would it take a mechanic to fix it? I prefer to shop locally, so I would like to go to a mom and pop repair shop. What would be a reasonable estimate to replace just the faulty line, and what would be reasonable it I just replaced both back lines, just in case?

1982 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk Dies at Idle?

I recently bought a 1982 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk, and upon purchase, it started up, idled, and ran just fine. The only major issue was a sticky throttle. Since then, I have adjusted the throttle, which now works fine, however the bike will now die at idle. I was told the carbs were cleaned immediately before being sold, and again, it initially started fine.

I have attempted to adjust the idle stop screw, however my battery died on me before I could see any real results. In my research, I have learn there is also an idle mix screw, but I am unaware where it is located on my bike.

If nothing else, I can take it in to my local mechanic, however, if it is something I can take care of myself, I would prefer to. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

What's a good first car for a teenager?

Since I was little, my parents swore up and down that my brother and I would have to worry about our first car.
However, my parents broke that bond with my brother and pay for his car bills.
SO, they've agree'd to help me with mine.

I was thinking something simple like a Honda Civic, great gas mileage.

I do need something cheap though. Not a new car. Something I could possibly find in a used car lot or even on craigslist?
What would you recommend? I would prefer something with good gas mileage.
(Probably pushing it, but I also want something a little bigger- like an SUV (but THATS HORRID GAS, i know. ^_^)

Just replaced break switch on a 1993 honda accord. Now after driving 3-5 miles break pedal gets stiff and if you drive further there's smoke from the right front side of car.

Car was stolen, what more can I do?

I work at a Fred Meyer in Washington. After about an hour of working I noticed my car wasn't where I parked it (I'm a parcel/cart pusher so I'm outside). Luckily, right when I noticed, a cop passed by (best timing ever) and I wrote down my statement and my mom came down to sign the papers (car is under her name). It was a 1994 Honda Accord (I already know it's the #1 stolen car model). I locked the doors and everything. I've posted on twitter and Facebook that it was stolen and described it, and had a nice friend post it on two crime watch pages on Facebook. Anything more I can do? My mom only had liability insurance on it -_- so I'm SOL if it's not recovered in running condition…

What's with my motorcycle?

I got a Honda Rebel, and just today when I was riding it I noticed it sounded really weak. I thought it was because I needed gas but I filled up and it still sounds like it. If i'm not giving it throttle it'll sound really low and weak and eventually it'll shut off but it'll start up right away again if I hit the starter. So is it my carbs? Maybe the fuel line is dirty?

Check engine light is still on?

I have a 2002 Honda Civic. I got gas this past Friday morning and everything was fine. Then I was driving yesterday (Saturday) afternoon and my check engine light came on. I called my Dad and he said check the gas cap. I tightened the gas cap and then continued driving. My dad also checked my gas cap and tightened it for 3 clicks and took it for a drive and the light was still on. It is now Sunday and my check engine light is still on. My car is running perfectly fine there seems to be nothing else wrong with it and I'm not due for an oil change for another 3,000 miles. Could there possibly be something else wrong with my car? Is there a way that the gas cap can be overly tightened?

Could it be my fuel pressure regulator?

I drive a 1999 Honda Prelude and recently I found fuel in the vacuum line. So I replaced the fuel pressure regulator with a part bought from advanced auto parts and now I noticed a longer crank time under start up. Before, the engine would fire up within 2 seconds of cranking but now it takes a bit longer. I noticed that if I pressurize the fuel (engage the fuel pump) 5 times before starting, the cranking time is shortened! I was thinking to rent a pressure gauge to see whats going on but could it be that the part isnt genuine honda? Im not seeing fuel pump symptoms but I'm also looking at replacing the fuel filter since its overdue but this is a problem that wasnt there before replacing the fuel pressure regulator.

Manuel Car totally scared to drive it, Help?

My parents bought me an 09 honda civic but its manuel I love the car its wonderful and I am grateful but I tried driving it and of course i did terrible but now i am literally afraid to drive it on the main road because I'm afraid of stulling out, I'm also afraid of going at a red light and then someone ramming into me if i stall out, do any of you who drive manual love it? Going from V6 to V4 engine?

I currently drive a 2006 milan with a V6 engine. I am looking at new cars, and I think I want something along the lines of a honda crv or nissan rogue because of their size and all wheel drive. The issue I noticed though is those cars have a V4 engine. How much of a difference would there be between those kinds of cars and my current one? Would it be a big difference I would notice? Oil and milky substance in coolant reservoir?

Today I pulled into my work parking lot. My car started having white smoke come from the engine. My radiator hose was leaking coolant through a very small slit in the hose which cause to squirt all over my engine to cause it to steam white smoke. I then looked at my coolant and it was filled with what looks like oil and some milky substance that looks like mocha. I later opened the radiator cap and found that the milky mocha substance was very think and in my radiator. I had no symptoms of anything going wrong. My car was not over heating. But could it be that there is a leak in the pressure system, so that my gauge wouldn't warn me? There are no transmission problems. I bought it two weeks ago from a private party, ie Craigslist. For 3200. It is a 2001 Honda Accord. 4 cylinder, vtec 160000 miles.

Do I have a blown head gasket? Thanks for any info.

Car is shaking and will BARELY accelerate?

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot and on my way to baseball practice it started shaking/vibrating and it would take forever to accelerate up to 30 mph but once it did, it would jolt and then it would seem like nothing was wrong with it. Then I would stop at an intersection and the car would die and then when I turned it on again, it would again take days to get up to 30 mph, then jolt, etc. Then as I pulled out of the parking lot at the field, it BARELY was able to back out of the spot and I had to keep restarting it and trying again like 4-5 times. Then when I got on the road, it did the same stuff as mentioned earlier.
Now I know its impossible to give me a full explanation over the internet, and I'm obviously going to take it in, but it would be great to have an idea of what the hell is going on and possible costs for possible solutions!

I bought a 2000 Honda accord coupe vtec with problems?

I bought the car for 600 but with problems. It has 230,000 miles but the f23 vtec engine still sounds and runs good. It needs a new tranny which is a common problem with this car. I heard a h23 prelude tranny fits in it.It also needs a lot of body work. At least 800s worth. At the end of everything i would have most likely invested about 2,600. But I'm not sure if I should do all that. I wanted to buy a prelude shell and put the engine in it but that would be another 1,000 at least. What would be the best thing to do? I will take any suggestions. Should I be worried about the milage and just junk the car I can make my money back. I just don't want to put more than 3,000 into this project if it won't be worth it. I am open to any suggestions, thanks!

1991 Accord Stalls when at a stop?

Hello I have a 1991 Honda Accord that sometimes stalls when at a stop. This is an intermittent problem and sometimes does it and other times wont. It also only seems to do it when warmed up. Its a 4cly with auto trans. It has a new idle air control valve, plugs,wires,distributor cap,oxygen sensor, all the fluids and filters changed along with the egr being replaced and intake taken off and cleaned. It has good fuel pressure and spark but cannot figure out why it keeps happening. It also doesn't have any check engine codes or light on. It also doesn't matter what gear you are in. It will do it in drive, park, and reverse but only when it is warm. Does anybody have any insight or ideas that I might not be thinking of? Thanks for your help.

Lowering springs on stock struts?

Ok I currently have a 2001 honda civic. It has about 162k miles and runs perfectly. The struts in the front are good but the rear struts can get really bouncy when going over high speed bumps or roads with poor condition. Battery light comes on and power steering goes out?

04 Honda Accord. This is what happens:
It's always in rainy/wet weather, so I have my headlights turned on. When it happens, I can always shut something off (radio, lights, A/C) and the problems goes away (the battery light goes off and power steering comes back). Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Also, it is not the belt, just replaced it a couple months ago, and it is still nice and tight. There is steering fluid in there also. It happened once a few days ago, and then 5-6 times yesterday.

Vertical shaft engine directly to a gear box?

I have a honda vertical shaft 5.5 hp engine and im making a go kart out of wood. Could I directly connect the gear box that has the engaging part on it, to the engine? Do I need to put a chain? I'm trying to make this as simple as possible thanks.

Honda Maintenance policy?

In Florida I had my Honda fixed at a Honda dealership. I know there's a 12,000 miles/12 month policy where they don't charge you if the problem reoccurs. However, I'm now in Texas and my car has a problem again. I got my car fixed two times within the past 12 months/ 12,000 miles. Once it was the crankshaft sensor and once it was my water pump. Will a Honda here in Texas fix the problem for free if it's one of those or do I have to take it to the Honda that fixed the problem?

2004 Honda Crf150f Build? - 1

So I found a crf150f frame for 20 bucks on craigslist in great condition. It has the back swingarm the cdi box and the spark plug cables. I'm either gonna sell it on ebay for a higher price or build a bike. I know this is a beginners bike but it's a step up from what I have now which is a mini bike. I was wandering if i do decide to buld the bike what should I buy first to start the build. Do any of you have an order in which you build a bike? Or is it not worth it should I pass up the deal it's only 20 bucks? Let me know.

Torn between next motorcycle decision?

I'm am completely at a stand still at my next bike. Its between the gsxr-750 and a cbr600rr. I really like that on the 750 from what ive heard has more mid range power and not having to down shift coming out of every turn like the 600s but the only thing i dont like about it is the headlight also i really love the CBR600s undertail exhaust. Idk how i expect anyone to answer this lol maybe a little input on each bike. Are the suzuki engines reliable we all know the honda boast about their solid reliability. I currently own a CB750. I'm not worried about not being able to handle either bike. Just want something i wont outgrow. I really wish they're we're more 750 ranged sport bikes to choose from.

What is wrong with my car? If anything?

I was driving on the highway tonight and it is storming. I was driving on back roads and my car acted normal and then I went to go on the highway via on ramp and I noticed she was not accelerating right but the RPMs were not shooting up they were staying down too like I was not even hitting the gas? Well I was driving and put it in 5th gear and I had the peddle too the floor and it was only doing 82ish mph and the RPMS were only at roughly 35-37 hundred! I have a 2003 Honda Civic two door coupe vtec engine it is also Manual Transmission. I was told to check for transmission issues but none of the symptoms are present on my car. Then I checked the Clutch and the guy told me to start it and put in 2nd or 3rd gear and let the clutch go and if it stalls its a healthy clutch. Well those two ruled out what else could cause this?

Should I get another car?

I drive a 2000 Taurus. It has about 130k miles on it, and lately it's been a money pit. Since I've bought it in
2011, I've put about $4,000 into the car and I'm just tired of putting more money in it.

Recently, the A/C compressor broke. Because of this, it snapped my serpentine belt and left me stranded at 2 in the morning on the other side of town. I was finally able to start it up, and like an idiot, I drove it home even thought it was overheating and didn't have power steering. Whoops. I had it towed to my mechanic the next day, and he told me the A/C compressor is about $500 to remove (and have replaced by a belt) or $1000 to replace. It also had a bulge on the front tire, and still needs about $300 worth of scheduled maintenance (filters, belts, etc). Plus whatever damage I did driving it overheated. (there was no check engine light, but who knows).

My parents bought it for me when I was 17. I'm 20 now. I really want a 1993-2002 Toyota Corolla because I hear they are very reliable. I'm going to look at a '99 tomorrow with 123k miles on it. But my family thinks I'm crazy for buying another older car. But I hear that Corollas are bulletproof if maintained properly, and I plan on getting it inspected by a mechanic before buying it.

What do you think. Should I repair my Taurus, buy a 15 year old Corolla or Civic, or lease a new car? Of those options, I think getting a Toyota or Honda is the best, but I'm uncertain.

Im going to the beach, and I have a second degree burn! What should I do?

Hi, I just recently got burned on a Dirt bike… A Honda 50 muffler, and i have 7 minor 2 degree burns. I have not gone to the doctor, but i have googled many things! What kind of Fourwheeler should I buy?

I'm currently interested in buying a quad. Now keep in mind I've had recent expierience with a 110 Honda 3 wheeler and a 350 bruin. These were my starters. I was looking for more of a sport quad. I would like a 4 stroke but 2 strokes are perfectly fine due to having to mix gas. Im also looking for a semi-auto tranny like my three wheeler but I wouldn't mind trying a legit manual. I put 87 octane gas in my bike, can I use octane boost to correct the problems it's causing my bike?

last night I put 87 octane in my 2008 Honda Shadow 750. It started sputtering and stalled out on me twice last night. Can I use octane boost to make it run cleaner and better. Will that help fix the stalling problem as I have always run 93 octane and never had any problems?

It has a new water pump, timing belt, spark plugs, belts, hoses, headlights, and hood. It needs a speed sensor, belt and pulley for the A/C, CV Joints, and speakers. The car runs great, I drive it daily back and forth to work and around town. It gets about 32 mpg on the highway. The inside it's all cracked and busted, I took care of it so it only has carpet stains. The front seats are in great condition but the sticking in the back is coming loose so the needs to be redone but it's not torn anywhere. How much can I sell it for on craigslist or in the paper?

Is this LEGAL plate mounting?

there is 3 cars in my area that I am wondering if they are legal or not. I live in Minnesota which is a 2 plate state. One car is a Honda not sure if it is a Accord or a Civic but its usually parked in a nearby street. I noticed one day it didn't have a front plate at all(mounting holes on bumper but no plate on bumper) I didn't really put much thought into it thinking it was just an out of state car until I saw the Minnesota Plate on the rear driving by. A different day I drove by it I noticed they somehow attached the front plate to the driver's side Visor. Is this legal?

2nd car is a Ford Explorer. It has no front bumper cover at all but instead of either drilling holes and mounting it to the bumper or zip tying it on they somehow mounted it ON the grille. Is this legal?

3rd car is a El Camino it has the REAR license plate in the rear window. The fact that "rear license plates much be lighted at night" is this legal display of a plate?

First car: buying old vs Leasing new?

so i'm getting a car soon and i'm 19 i have about $4500 saved up from work. That could buy me a (sort of) old car right there (2004ish), but my parents are willing to help me out some. I'm looking at honda civics.

but my parents are insisting on me LEASING a BRAND NEW car. I have a few concerns with that:
1. Let's be real: i'll probably get in a wreck sometime over the 3 yr. Lease, and that's gonna cost a fortune
2. I don't even want a brand new car. I don't drive that much - only to work and to college (which is like 300 miles away) but once i'm at college i only return for holidays, so driving the nicest car isn't the most important thing to me.

here's what my parents have against old cars:
1. "unsafe"
2. Gonna break down

their second point is pretty valid but either way i'm looking at something like a honda civic which is proven to be reliable. They might not help me out if i choose to buy an old car because they are so against it.

Best A2 Choice Moterbike?

Hello,
I'm looking to get my A2 restricted motorcycle soon and I was hoping someone with a bit more knowledge than myself could give me an insight into my options. Primarily I'm looking at the Honda CBR 500 R, CB 500 X, Harley Davidson 883 (restricted) and a few others. I'm roughly 13 stone and 6ft, and feel myself cramped on the older CBR 125. My main concern is comfort as i ride regularly, as with my cbr 125 my back begins to ache after 20 minutes or so. I've ridden a Kawasaki Eliminator and didn't feel at home with the slow cornering and love the agile movement of the honda, would the 883 have a similar slow cornering?

Any insights or opinions would be appreciated,

Why is my gas gauge glitching?

I have a 2004 Honda Civic, so when I went to fill up the gas tank a couple weeks ago, a few hours later, it was showing that I was halfway between full and half. Then it went back to normal a while later back at the full point. Then today, I was at the halfway point between half and empty. Then when I looked at it, it was showing that I was close to the gas light coming on and then when I looked again, it was back at the halfway point. What's the problem?

Switch to non vtec without an ecu change?

I have a 97 honda civic ex vtec with a d16y8 motor that's blown. I want to replace it with a d16y7 that doesn't have vtec since it's cheaper and I hardly use it to go fast anyways. I read everywhere that it won't accelerate past 5000 rpm's if the ecu isn't switched and it will also cause a check engine light. I was wondering if there was an easy way to not have to switch the ecu but not have those problems caused.

Am I getting a good deal on this 1998 Honda Civic?

I wanted other people's opinion on the car I'm going to buy. It's a 98 Honda Civic DX coupe auto transmission. I am buying it for 2000-2300. Now, is it a good deal if it has 161,000 miles and if it's salvaged (rear bumper damage)? It also has an alarm system, aftermarket rims and an aftermarket exhaust. Minor exterior damage with only 1 noticeable scrape. Also minor interior damage. Am I getting a good deal?

If you can answer the following concerns I have it would be greatly appreciated.

1. I test drove the car with 5 people in it (including me) and the back of the car seemed to go down.

2. The rpm seems to go quite high shifting from 2nd to 3rd but I was told that it's normal in 4 cylinder automatics.

3. When I drove through a bumpy road I heard a small squeek coming somewhere from my left side.

4. Speakers or radio don't sound too great. Any way to fix this?

Why does my 1997 crv RPM jumps up and down?

My honda crv's rpm jumps up and down at random times on drive, park, or even when the engine is turned off. At the same time, the car would stall when driving (even at around 60-70+ mph) stepping on the car pedal and revving the car would stabilize the stalling. At low speed, 0-30mph, the car would stall and die. I can't figure out the problem! I bought new spark plugs, new distributor cap and coil (except the distributer itself) what can it be?

What is a good first used car?

I'm looking to purchase a used car. I would like to have something that has a small body but isn't small on the inside (ex: scion tc, honda civic 4 door, etc). I've been looking online and I've seen a lot of older BMW's and Audi's for sale. I've been told that when foreign cars like those are old, the repair and maintenance cost are very high. I'm a college student, so I can't afford to $350 oil changes and $500 tuneups, etc…

I just want something reliable, low maintenance, and that's stylish. The Scion TC is one of my favorite's but they are expensive. I'm not looking to spend more than $7500.

I was involved in a serious accident the other day on my way to work that wasn't my fault. Walked away with minor injuries, but my car is completely totaled. I have no experience with buying a used or certified pre-owned car, as that car was my parents' car. My car was an 09 honda civic, so the ballpark payout is between 6 to 8 grand. I'd like to stick with Japanese brands or look into Subarus. As far as buying used, can you recommend dealerships like car max? Im in the PA/south jersey area. I also don't have the money to buy a car outright, so does that mean i apply for financing? How long does that process take? Any reputable car makes/models/years you trust? Anything, even your story about your used-car buying experience would be helpful at this point. Thank you!

My airbag on my 2012 Honda Civic goes off and on every 5 seconds?

If I turn on the car with someone sitting in the passenger seat my car alerts me every 5 seconds that the airbag is off then on then off then on for the duration of my drive. It is really annoying because it beeps while its doing this. However if I turn on the car wait 30 seconds and then someone sits inside this problem doesn't happen. What can I do to fix it? I took it to Honda and they can't seem to find the problem. They changed all the sensors already.

1985 Honda v65 Sabre Dies Then Won't Start?

The bike runs fine for a few miles until it gets hot and then just dies on me. The engine won't even try to turn over when this happens but a couple hours later when it's cooled down it seems to work again. I've replaced the pulse generators and checked that the ignition coils are at the correct resistance. Why is this still happening to my bike?
Added (1). And I think it must be electrical considering the bike won't even attempt to turn over so it can't be anything with the fuel.

Black stuff on my bumper around muffler?

I have a 1998 honda civic dx, we just rebuilt the motor, my car has lack of power which I considering it the distributor because as I'm picking up speed it cuts out power like it's not getting enough spark to about 3000rpms then picks up instantly. i have a 95 Honda accord 2.2L w/v-tech with speedometer issues, I had to replace the vss about 7 months ago and now the other day the speedometer wont read the speed or it will for a few seconds then drop to 0. Its like this everyday. The cruise control works, Tach works no check engine light, i have checked the connections on it, what am i missing thanks in advance!

Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4?

Hi, I'm having trouble deciding if I want to buy a Toyota RAV4, or keep my Honda CR-V.

I currently have a 2001 Honda CR-V LX with 142,900 miles on it. I bought it for $4,000 dollars from a private party and I absolutely love it. Maintenance is cheap and easy, and it's a great ride for the area I live in, which has a lot of mountains and such.

I've recently come across a 1998 Toyota RAV4 with 124,000 miles on it listed at $3,900. I've run Blue Book values and they are both worth about the same, with the CR-V being maybe $200 higher.

My main question is, which one is better? Or are they both the same? Should I switch to the Toyota RAV4 or keep my CR-V?

Car jerks when I accelerate?

I have a 2003 Honda accord and this morning the check engine light came on while I was driving, then when I would accelerate the car would start jerking.
This has happened before and it only happened a few times while I was driving, but it never happened again so my parents just ignored it.
I also was really low on gas this morning, I don't know if that has anything tom do with it… Because my car is used to running on low gas. XD

Which motorcycle is best for me? Leaning towards adventure bike?

I see this question all the time, but i figure ill put my problems on the board. Im 21, 6'3, 280 pounds. Large guy, played football and rugby but am proportioned. I have been curious about riding but am looking at what bikes i like. Recently I have fallen in love with the adventure bikes. I have been picky with them, and not liking the dirt bike looks, but more like the cb500x hondas. I don't want to start with such a huge motor but i would feel comfortable on a 400cc to 650cc. With my size i figure I might need a bigger motor anyways. Anyways, I like the adventure bikes, and the style of them. So far the cb500x seems to be my favorite but two problems, looks a little small, and i don't want my first bike to be brand new with the fear of dropping it. Ia m not a beginner, i have ridden dirt bikes and quads most of my life, but looking to try it on the street. Please don't hesitate throwing out any bike that has worked for you before whether its a crotch rocket, or harley. I am just looking for a comfortable ride and something to have fun with. I have a 1998 honda accord vtech engine last month when im driving it going back home going up on the ramp exit we stop the smoke coming from the back of the engine and then my radiotor was blow up so i bring it to my friend and he fix so i buy a new radiator a termostat and new cap for the radiator then when he is fixing it he told mhe that the throttlebody of my car has corrosion so he change it to then he put it the throttlebody then before he start the car he put war on the radiator and live the cap off the radiator then when he start the car he told me that thire is smoke or steam coming out of the radiator, is my head gasket it blow up or their is something els please help thanks

Problem with 1999 Honda Accord Rear Brake?

We heard a grind in our 1999 Honda Accord from one of the rear brakes. The brake pad had worn through on one side causing the rotor to be ground down. The thing is that it only happened on one side of the car, that is on one wheel, and only one side of the rotor was being worn down. The other side looks ok. It seems that there is some problem with the brake itself, causing one side of the brake to clamp down on the rotor more than it should. Does anyone know what this problem might be?

Got into a car accident, not at fault. Now what?

So, yesterday I got into a car accident. I was coming down a one way road and the other person (an elderly lady) was coming out a residential area. I had the right of way and the woman coming out of the residential kept creeping out more and more to turn, so I slowed but then she just stopped and stayed stopped as if she was going to yield, so I proceeded to keep going. I think she miscalculated her timing because as I was driving and finally approached her car to pass, she proceeded to go and rammed her SUV right into my Honda Accord. I tried swerving out of the way as my dad was my passenger but an island blocked me and I had no escape. She hit me so hard on my passenger side that I was actually knocked onto oncoming traffic and my right side is totaled. She even knocked my mirror off, which flew into my window. This morning, her insurance company admitted fault and said they would pay for the damages. I drive a coop, so I know they will be needing to replace my whole right side and most likely fix the electrics since my mirrors, window, and locks are electric. My question is, do you think they will fix my car or give me a settlement? If they do give me a settlement, how does it work?

Which Japanese sedan should I buy?

I am looking for used cars to purchase online, and have narrowed it down to about 3 choices. I am hoping to purchase a Japanese 4 door sedan because of their reliability and less expensive maintenance, however are those both true? I have reduced the search to a Subaru legacy, a Honda Civc SI, and a Toyota Camry. I live in California. I just installed these blue/green low beam lights on my honda. The lights look green. Not sure if they are legal or not. But they for perfectly fine. On the back it does say off road use only.
I was wondering if someday I get into a crash my fault or not or I run someone over accidentally and they die can I be charged with manslaughter?

Motorcycle electronics died on me while driving?

motorcycle runs great
its a 79 honda cb750
my headlight continuously got dimmer and dimmer until it died and it seemed like the spark plugs were having trouble sparking cause the engine started to run really weird and jerky until it died
the battery on its brand new so i know thats not the issue
ive heard some people online talk about shorts and fuses being an issue
alternator is the other option to look into
has anyone on an older bike ever ran into this problem and remember how they fixed it?
or if anyone has some experience and knows the best place to start looking that would be great

Buying 18yr/o son a New Car?

Good evening everyone, and thank you for taking time to respond. My 18 year old Son: Troy, has been badgering me and my wife about BMW's for years. From Spotting them out on the roads to racing up to me with the newest models in the motor trend spreads. When it came time for him to receive a car my wife and I weren't financially prepared to drop a lump on his dream car; I had just opened my dental practice and with my wife just opening her podiatry clinic, all of our available finances were being utilized and poured into our practices. So we made the decision to buy him an '06 Honda Civic. It had 3 previous owners and the car fax was pristine, and with the MSRP being 13,500 it was more practical for the moment. It's been 2 years since then, Troy hasn't had any accidents however I cannot say the same for speeding tickets which is normal for his age group. Business in Calabasas is better than ever, and our practices have flourished and the profits are wonderful, which means now when Troy approaches me with these spreads, I no longer have a legit ament reason for why he cannot have one. He'll be going to college next month and my wife and I thought it would be a wonderful surprise, however due to the plethora of speeding tickets I am reaping the repercussions of paying the bill, a coupe is out of question. Is this a good idea. What model is age appropriate?

Problem with my honda cvic? Year 2000?

Ok so my car when accelerating past 4 rpm makes this weird noise like to much air is getting pushed out and it leaves a smell that smells like something is burning, I went to auto zone and got one of those free checks it came up as I needed a new o2 sensor, would that be right? I want to get it fixed but I'm also not trying to get ripped of because I don't know what it is. Any suggestions? Anything else it could be? It runs fine just has that problem.

1999 honda shadow ace 26k asking $2600?

I think it's overpriced. It has new tires and oil change, but I think it's still too much. This guy has been trying to sell it since beginning of June and originally wanted more. I bought a 99 deluxe shadow for $2400 with 5k three years ago. This one has 5 times the miles. I looked up book value, trade in was 1500 and retail 2300, so I figured 1900 would be fair. The only reason why i am interested is because it's so close to where I live. Do you think 1900 is a fair price.

I mean, here in Indonesia, for example, 2013 honda fit costs appx 200.000.000 (US$ 19.000). 2013 toyota camry costs appx 550.000.000 (US$ 50.000). I mean i can get brand new 2014 chevy camaro in USA with the same price with Toyota Camry in indonesia.
Note: we don't have chevy camaro in chevy dealer in indonesia. We must import it straight from USA with authorised non-chevy dealer. The car cost with the tax is 2.000.000 rupiah (US$ 190.000).

Best first sport bike on a budget?

I am looking into buying my first sports bike. I have rode dirt bikes for about 4 years for fun but nothing serious like motocross. I am looking in to getting a Honda cb500f because i feel like people get 250cc motorcycles as beginner bikes. Insinuating that when they get used to riding they will buy a new motorcycle that seems like a waste of close to 4000 dollars. Am i wrong for wanting to get a bike that will allow me to enjoy it for longer than when i just get used to riding it. Am i going about this wrong or is it a good idea. Also my state doesn't have a law against starting on a bike bigger than a 250cc. If i am right is the 500f a good bike. Also i want to spend less than 6500 on it. Also i was wondering how bad do you get beat by the wind on the cb500f? Thank you for your time.
Added (1). my state does require me to take the skills test on a 250cc or less motorcycle so i will instead be taking the msf basic riders course and it also (along with giving me a great training) waives the skills test.

About a year ago, I bought a car from one of those "no credit, no problem" dealerships and got an interest rate of about 20% (no comments on my poor financial decision lol). Anyway, in about a month, I will be getting between 6 and 10 thousand dollars and I was wondering if it would be a better idea to refinance for a lower interest rate or trade in my car and use the money as a down payment for another car. Help finding my water level gauge?

Hello, In the past, I have had to rely on the dealership to help me check water gauge. They showed me how to find it, it is very hard, the markings are dim and not easy to read. This was a long time ago, though I did have my car serviced in the spring, and I do remember, they said they did "top off" the anti freeze.

However, we've been experiencing hot weather here in the NW, with heat wave this week, so I just wanted to reassure myself that I have enough water in my radiator.

Does anyone know an easy way of checking where the water level lines are?

1) Use heavy duty Flashlight? Or do it out in the sun?
2) Can I add just plain water IN THE INTERIM, if it is low, or SHOULD I BUY anti freeze
or
3) Take it to dealership and have them top it off? They've done this for free in the past. But I never know if they will charge me this time, if so, no problem.
4) When they say water level, that also means, anti freeze level, correct? They are one and the same?
