Why is my motorcycle not producing the power that it should?

my 1985 Honda Magna v30 runs fine(sounds normal) but I have a hard time reving it above 9,000rpm with full throttle which it should hit red line at 11,500rpm… I am cleaning the carbs currently. Some times it has a hard time starting-eventhough I can hear it combusting. It should be able to hit 110mph with ease but it has a hard time getting to 55mph right now.

Im looking to buy a "new" used car. 2011-2012 car. I really like the Mazda 3! But im not sure if its as reliable as the other cars I named.

How hard would it be to ride a motorcycle when I've never rode a bicycle in my life?

So my friend recently offered me to ride his Honda CBR250RR the next time I see him. But, the thing is I've never rode on anything with two wheels before. Not a scooter or a bicycle. The only experience I've had with anything similar is on my ATV. Would it be harder to ride a motorcycle? I've heard that going fast is much more stable than going slow. Any other tips from you riders out there? If so, thank you very much!
Added (1). The bike is a project bike so it's not like it's too bad if I drop it. My friend himself has even said that it's fine if I drop it. I'm helping him fix it anyways. We're also going to be on a private road so traffic obviously isn't an issue. I'm a beginner that's simply practicing, not riding on the road or anything dumb such as that.

I'm obsessed with BMW and I want one a the age of 18? Advice?

So, I'm an 18 year old guy, and after riding with my cousin to his auto shop in his BMWs, because he had multiple cars from BMW, I developed an obsession. I'm looking for a first car, and despite what I choose, even if it is another German car, I just don't feel the same with any other car.

I am thinking of getting an older model 3 series Maybe a 1998 or something like that. Any car as long as its a BMW. My dad drives a Corolla, and I'm bored of them because he has been driving Corolla like 5 years old.

Any advice? My cousin even recommends I get a BMW because of their reliability. I asked him what car he recommends for me as a first car, and he said BMW. Now I expected him to say Honda or Toyota, and he is a highly experienced certified mechanic, so I thought he was going to say Toyota or Honda. He said that BMW has been very reliable for him and has taken care of him. Any advice? BMW is a little more expensive to buy, but for any repairs my cousin is a mechanic so he can help me out. But seriously, how to get rid of this obsession? I don't like anther car!

1985 honda civic wont start?

Engine cranks, no spark to plugs. Replaced igniter, distributor cap, spark plugs, new spark plug wires, ignition coil. Still no spark to plugs. Don t think timing belt is broken, as it doesn t crank faster than normal. What do I check next? Car doesn t have crank shaft position or cam shaft position sensor. Could my ignition timing be off? Any help greatly appreciated.

What could be causing the poor ride quality of my car?

My car is a 2012 Honda Civic sedan. I recently got all new tires(Falken Ziex ze950 a/s) put on it. After the first day of driving it I noticed it driving a little strange, and at first I thought they just need broken in. After a few days though it started to feel more like there was possibly an issue. Driving it, especially at around 40mph or so, it feels like there is a slight "wobble" in the tires. I took it and had it aligned, and the tire shop balanced them when they put the tires on. After the alignment it felt a little better but still not how I thought it should. I checked the tire pressure and found that the front driver tire had about 15 more pounds of air than the front passenger. I adjusted all of the tires air pressure to the factory specs. At first it felt a lot better, but along the 15 mile drive home I noticed it still didn t feel quit right. Is this just me being paranoid? Or is the ride quality of these new tires just poor? My previous tires were the Goodyear Eagle RS-A, and I never had one issue before I changed tires

Why is car insurance so expensive for me?

Im eighteen, i drive very well, never been in a wreck. No tickets. Ive been driving since i was fifteen. I want to finance a 2015 mustang from the dealership and got a auto insurance quote from geico. They gave me a quote for 600$ a month. 600$ a month. SIX, Hundred. I find that outrageously ridiculous and am wondering how to get around this money pit. Even when i drove a old honda my insurance was 180 a month. That is such a waste! And so unreasonable! Any way around it? Any logical explanation?

Trailer lights Honda Goldwing trike,, 6 wire plugs on bike to 4 wire plug on trailer?

I have a 2008 1800Goldwing trike California Sidecar trike kit,, IT has a 6 wire trailer plug on it,( see pic) I has a stop lite wire, ground wire, marker lite, left and right turn lite wire, and a black which I think is a ground for the stop wires,, top two wires are stop and a black wire Ground? Maybe, Bottom row is ground, marker, turn signal, turn signal. My question is can I tie the stop lite wire and turn signal wires to gather so my trailer stop light work,, because the trailer lights urn signal and stop light are the same wire,,, will it hurt my bike any,, thanks

Problem with starting my honda bike?

Hi. I have a honda cg125. About a month back it started giving problems to start (cold start that is in morning) Before i would just press the start button and it would start flawlessly. Now when i press the start button it starts then cuts out. Start again idles for a while then cuts out. I then have to end up using the choke. The problem is not the battery. Replaced spark plug, brand new ngk iridium. I have absolutely no idea what this problem is. I took it to the honda official service shop, they serviced the carb but i still have the problem. Please help!

Also i hear a whistling sound when i start it i.e is cold start i m talking about. During the day it rides perfect.

Fog lights come on instead of headlights?

I just received a 99 Honda civic 2 door. Tonight I tried testing it out around the neighborhood. I put on the dim lights first and didn't notice any light. I went outside and saw the Orange light portion on but barely. I put on the headlights and they were too bright but didn't realize how bright till I pulled into the driveway. I get back home and tried the fog lights but no lights came on. At all. I'm thinking the fog lights come on instead of the headlights. Any thoughts on what could cause this? Wiring yeah but how would I fix this?

Car shut off on me while driving?

So prior before shutting off a few days earlier it was hesitating to start. It did this twice where I had to turn the key and then release it and try and again, until it fired right up. It was the first day of cold weather and I believe it was -5.
Last night I was driving and the car shut off as I was in third gear cruising at about 60 kms.
I pulled over and then it started right back up again BUT I noticed my battery light flashing, and then once it started the battery light disappeared. I messaged my step dad and he told me to clean the clutch sensor, so I'm thinking about trying that. But that wouldn't explain why the light was on flashed? He then said it could be the alternator but that wouldn't make sense because chances are it wouldn't have started back up again. Anyone have an idea on what this could be? The car is an 04 Honda Civic if that helps.

I like the Honda PCX 125 and also the Honda Forza 300. I do not know which one to buy.

I wonder if 125cc is enough or if I should go for the 300cc.

I also have seen the Honda Forza 125 and I wonder if it is worth it.

The PCX seems to be very good value for money (maintenance and running costs), however it is small size in comparison with the Forza 300 (obviously at a higher cost).

Car power steering is hard in the morning?

I have Honda civic 1999 in good condition. When I start the car in the morning drive the power steering is very very hard needs too much force to turn my car. But after a drive of one hour to my office it becomes normal when it gets hot. I have checked the power steering fluid and belt both are good. What could be the reason; a bad pump or anything else? Kindly share

Should I take this freelance job?

I'm a freelancer in LA. I got this job that starts next weekâ€Â"pay is fine and it's "ongoing" meaning a few weeks or more, which is good because I haven't had (long term) contract jobs in a while.

The only issue? Distance: 30 miles each way. For me, I just have an older car and I worry that it'll strain it in the long run? It's a 2000 Honda Civic Ex, and it crossed the 200K mileage mark a few months ago! It hasn't "broke down" in over two years, and I changed the engine over a year ago. I know it can drive 30 miles each way, but is it too much stress over a few weeks?

so i brought my first type r ep3 however im insanely dissapointed with the power or i dont think im driving it right? Ive been told to go up to 6000rpm and abit higher to get the best so i did that from third gear however im not getting any real speed form that, when people say go up to 6000rpm does that mean from all the gears? From 1st? Any help would be appreciated

Car fan won't turn on unless AC is on?

I have a 1997 Honda Accord and lately it has been overheating. The fan in the car will not come on unless I run the AC but yesterday I was driving on a cool day with the AC on and it still started to over heat so I pulled over and let it cool down. After that, the check engine light came on.
Please let me know if you know of anything that might be causing this so I can get it fixed. Thank you.
P. S. I have already tried replacing the thermostat and it didn't fix it.

I bought a new Honda and when I read the owner's manual it just says to rely on the maintenance computer to tell me. But I want to know in advance what miles I will need Tune-up, new spark plugs, fluid changes etc. But none of this is covered in the owner's manual!

Left my headlights on, but car battery didn't die… Will it die soon?

I left my headlights on while the car was off for about 30 minutes. The car still turned on, I took a 10 minute drive, and turned it off then on again just to see if it still works, and it worked.
It's a 2012 Honda Civic, and it once died about a year ago when I left the headlights on for 20 minutes then I had to jump it. So I'm worried that my battery DIDN'T die this time, because I don't want it to randomly die on me sometime tomorrow.
Will my battery die soon, and what should I do? Thank you!

So a week ago i just got a 2006 Honda civic by trading in my 1998 nissan altima bc of that fact that it looks so much sportier and is better in fuel economy. So my bike was stolen. Two kids walked about a block away with it and a lady confronted them about it being stolen. Lucky for me. So they dropped it on its side and ran. When im at a full stop and then press the gas, the car vibrations when i do that and makes a sound like something is hold on the tires, only comes from front tires, what could it be? I drive a 2000 Honda accord! I have a brand new battery, just about a month old now! Some times the car will start and itll be fine! The times it doesnt, there isnt a clicking as if there was a bad battery, theres just the ever so slight sound of the fuel pump pumping fuel! 1974 celica gt vs 1990 mustang 5.0?

Having a thought time to choose which car I want to purchase. The celica is in good condition besides it needing a timing chain but they want to trade for my daily driver older Honda. It still runs and looks great. The mustang looks like it needs work all around, it s an auto, and needs a fuel pump and more for it to run right. For 1200. The mustang is a blind buy because I never heard it run for over 2 secs. I m trying to figure out should I trade my car for the celica or just outright buy the mustang. What you would do value wise, mechanic wise and uniqueness wise.

1991 honda accord wont start?

Ok i just recently found out when i did a tune up on my vehicle about spark plugs having a firing order. I had previously taken the vehicle to a mechanic due to the car having idling issues. The entire air intake system was replaced and cleaned very well before replacing. After bringing it back seemed the problem went away.

The car was sounding like a small misfire so i went ahead and replaced the spark plug wires as they were lookin old. I also did the spark plugs as well.

When i put the newer spark plug wires in the car sounded funny so i went ahead and turned it off. This morning i went outside and using a diagram put the spark plug wires in the proper firing order. The car cranks strong but it wont start.

What should i do at this point the car cranked up yesterday.

Also i noticed the check engine light flashes when trying to start the car up and i read that could be a misfiring issue. I am sure i have the wires in correctly and checked multiple times. Help please.

Should I demand a refund?

I own a 2006 Honda Civic I ordered a new painted bumper on eBay to replace my damaged one. After taking my old one off and measuring the new is 8 inches wider but look correct. I have tired 2 times to install and it won t fit. Contacted the seller and said it is the correct bumper and is flexable enough to be installed. It is stamped as a 05 civic however it looks like the 06 bumper he now wants me to paid to have it shipped back if I m unable to install.

I recently got a starter repaired at Honda. But over the phone my advisor said they are replacing the switch not the starter. Clearly he lied to me over the phone and now I am stuck spending 500 on the starter and who knows what in the switch. I'm calling corporate Monday. But can they retrieve calls with my advisor?

Buy another car or work on my current one? (For racing)?

So I'm 16 and pretty new to the car scene. I bought my first car about two months ago and done some work on it, really love working on/driving cars. Anyways, right now I have a 92 Honda Accord ex with a stick and about 190k miles and plenty of rust (Mostly the entire suspension assembly is rusted out. Works, but still worries me to make it fast with that much rust). Anyways I guess my question was, should I buy another car (Most likely a Civic or Eclipse/Talon), or would it be cheaper and easier to just replace the heavily rusted parts? And is there anything else i should worry about on such an old car if I plan to to some heavy modding and racing?

Also, I don't plan on street racing. Keeping it legal & on a track.

Car keeps dying when driving?

I have a 1997 Honda Prelude. After a few blocks of driving the car suddenly loses power and dies and the rpm drops. It happens after a few blocks of driving or when I launch and downshift. I check oil, it's fine. No check engine light, the last time it was a knock sensor and I replaced it and light went away. But it still drives horrible. It seems stuck or something. I took it to a mechanic and he couldn't find the problem. I'm stuck on this for weeks now

Do i need to change my alternator?

so i have a 2002 honda civic and just wen i thought i was done replacing everything bam i get hit with some more bs. So i just bought a brand new battery in july but today one of my headlights wont fully turn on i thought maybe its just blown but them my kenwood radio that was installed is on demo and cant take it out of it so thats not a good sign so im just guessing its the alternator but please anything helps?

Bad engine or transmission mount(s)?

I had a rough idle and jerking problem that was diagnosed as a collapsing engine mount. The jerking was whenever I was parked on an incline, I shifted into Drive and my car jolted. Very noticeable. It would jolt/jerk when shifting from Drive to Reverse, Reverse to Drive, etc.

So today Honda replaced the "collapsing" mount but the problem persists.

Does this sound like it could be a TRANSMISSION mount? Curious if they misdiagnosed my problem.

What could cause the large "jolt" when I shift from Park to Drive, Drive to Reverse, etc?

What is going on with my 2001 Honda Accord?

I brought my car in April and I've had a few problems with it since. I had to put in about $1000 worth of work and labor to fix the issues including a new water pump, oil leak, sealings, etc. I've been finding that my car is jerking when I switch the gears. About a month ago my gear actually got stuck while I was parked and couldn't move it, so I had to basically take my cup holders out and everything to reset the gear shift.

Now, Friday my car started jerking really hard when I would shift the gears from P to R & D. When I'm on the road however, nothing really seems to be wrong, and I have traveled long distances. Can anyone tell me where the jerking is coming from and or caused by? It does not happen all the time, like for example it did not do it once yesterday, but this morning it did. Can anyone help me?

Does my car have a bad battery or does it have a bad alternator?

I drive a 2005 Honda Accord Coupe. I've had this car now for about 2 1/2 years. Since I've had it, I have had to replace the battery twice. Once a year after I got it and again a few months ago this year. Recently, like the past 2 months or so it would die at least once a week after I got a charge, took it to autozone to see if the battery was bad about a month ago, turns out the connection was actually loose. Didn't have a problem after I got that problem solved ever since. Now, last week the battery dies once again, this time, the car is not even powering on to crank. I have to manually open the door because the battery is so dead not even the auto unlock on my key works. At this point I'm starting to think the alternator is going bad but I'm not exactly sure. I know when I took it to Autozone about a month ago they told me the battery was fine. I checked all my connections and everything is still nice and tight so It's definitely not that. I jump started it last night, drove it around the block just to keep the car running for a while, I come out this morning it is completely dead again. Not cranking or anything. Any ideas of what it could be? I plan on getting it tested but I just need to know so I can start looking up parts and getting quotes. Thanks!

03 Shadow Sputters and Dies?

I have an '03 Honda Shadow Spirit that began stalling on me. It was working fine, and then i took it for a ride and it sputtered and died on me while riding. We managed to get it home by keeping the throttle up kind of high. Is this a clogged fuel filter issue? Also, when we opened it up, it looked like there were 2 fuel filters. Has anyone heard of 2 filters on these bikes? Any help would be appreciated. I need to sell the bike. Thanks.

only problem is the electric system.
i mean, i have to punch the left headlight to turn it on.

but today during the rain, i saw the battery light turn on and then when i made a left turn, the steering wheel was harder to turn.
like something was stuck between the wheel or something. But then the wheel was back to normal like nothing happened.
i remember hearing noises like a whimpering dog in pain. But no dog.
maybe something broke?

96 civic engine (D16Y7) knocking… Bearings and rods in good shape?

What can be causing the knockings? The knocking sounds like if the engine spun a bearing and if the rod was the one causing the knock although it's NOT as loud, BUT the bearings and rods are in good shape, bearings look new…, can the head or something else cause the knocking noise?

I've checked the head and it look good, no signs of valve piston contact or bent valves. I'll be takin the head apart to verify everything is good.

ACURA INTEGRA MISFIRE CODE?

I have an all stock 2000 Acura Integra ls. My check engine light came on, had to get a new cat converter. Then I replaced it, it was faulty. Had to buy another $300 one. Then as soon as it was replaced, the random misfire code and misfire in fourth cylinder code came on as well. However, I am not misfiring. I am not at Honda paying another $120 just for them to tell me the codes. Anyone else have this issue? What else could it be?

Ever Had An Issues with Getting New License Plates with Vehicles?

I recently bought a nice new three year old Honda Civic several weeks ago. My permanent license plate still has not arrived and the temporary license plate will expire in a couple of weeks.

I called my Honda dealership and they reordered a new license plate and expedited the delivery. Still, I am very concerned that the new permanent license won't arrive in time by the expiration date. Anyone been in this situation? What should I do if the license plate does not arrive in time by the expiration date? Any information would help. There is no information on this issue on the Kentucky's License Plate Department website. Thank you.

2005 Nissan Murano vs 2006 Honda Pilot?

My 2012 Honda has been driving fine. Forever. I ve never had a problem with it. But last night I went to Chipotle, parked my car, and came back out after 5ish minutes. When I put the key in the ignition… Nothing. No clicks, no lights, no electric locks or windows. The brakes also won t depress. So I m assuming it s either the main relay or ignition switch? I m borrowing a power probe tonight to try to get a little more information. Any other thoughts?

I bought a used car from metro Honda and added the extended warranty for $1600. I cancelled it the following day and was told I would receive a refund with in 2-3 billing cycles. My Honda shadow vt 125 has problems?

My bike really struggles to start, I have to hold the ignition down for ages again and again. The engine will keep turning over but it won t accelerate, eventually once it starts and I turn the throttle it is sluggish to pick up revs.
As soon as I let go of the throttle and leave it to idle it cuts out. If I get it started and ride it, sometimes it will go for the full journey, sometimes it just cuts out and slows down very fast whilst moving even with the throttle on.
Also i can hear a popping/puffing sound coming from somewhere in the bike, not sure what that is, or if it is related.

Initially I was having problems with the battery not charging, I fixed that, so I don t think that has anything to do with it.

It s not due to cold, I have stood for five or ten minutes revving the bike to warm it up, it seems to start a bit easier with the choke on initially, but it still takes a long time.

If anyone has any ideas on how it can be fixed, I d like to be able to do it myself as I cannot afford the mechanics at the moment, but if I need to take it there I will.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Labor cost to build engine block only?

I am located in Cali and want to go naturally aspirated. It's a 1999 honda engine block. I only want to know an estimate of labor cost to build the block with crankshaft, rods, and stock pistons. The crankshaft and rod will increase my displacement by.1 liter and compression ratio increases from 10:2 to 10:8. I'm going to build the head on my own since it's easier and to save labor cost.
Added (1). It's essentially oem crankshaft and rod stroker kit that still works safely with my stock pistons and block. I want to build the block first because of more torque, displacement, and compression output.

How to fix a Positive Battery Terminal that is cracked in half on a 2005 Honda Accord?

Hello there,

So basically, my cars been dead for the past few days and I finally went and tried to boost it up this morning with my girlfriends car. For some reason, it was not holding a charge and my car was still not turning on after leaving the jumper cables on for a few minutes. I adjusted them and the car started to get a charge but it wouldn't crank all the way on. So I went back to my batter and noticed that the positive terminal is cracked in half. Not the clamps but the actual silver nipple looking thing on the actual battery. I'm not exactly sure if that's whats causing it not to hold a charge but if it is, is there anyways I can replace it or fix it? I know it's alittle hard since it's on the actual battery but I don't know much about cars lol so I'm not sure if you can actual take those off and replace or fix them. Please help?

98 Honda Accord stuck in park! How do you diagnose the problem?

I recently was messing with the instrument cluster, changing the bulbs and all that. Two days later after work, i turned on the car all fine but couldnt get it in reverse! It was like i wasnt pressing on the brake, the shifter wouldnt budge!

I looked up online and i stuck a flathead in the shift release thing. I finally got it in reverse, i thought it was a one time thing since i had used my car a couole of times that day. However the next day it happened again! And its been happening more frequently!

I checked my brake lights to see if they were working and they are. I checked the 7.5 back up/intrument fuse, but it seemed ok, the other important fuse under the hood seems fine, but it is popped up higher than the other ones labled "40" idk if it is supoosed to do that? The one thing under the wheel above the pedals (brake pump pressure? I forgot what ts called) is the one thing i havent checked since i dont know how to check it.

The shifter works fine at times, but other times it gets stuck, and i have to stick a flathead in the shift release to get my car to move. Is there something im missing? Can someone help me fix this problem?! Thanks

I have the money to pay it now, but it won't leave me much to live off of for the rest of the week so I'm not sure if I should pay it today so it's paid the day it's technically due, or if I can wait until Friday to pay it. I'm still building my credit so I don't want to do anything to mess that up.

My name is Richie, I m 14 and I m a freshmen. I started driving a motorcycle at the age of 10 and bought one at the age of 12 (Honda PCX125). My dad is always worried about me and he s one of those strict a** parents that are mean as crap. But that was all in Cambodia haha, Anyways we came back to Seattle, Washington, USA and it s been a year and a half since I ve been here. Don’t need an endorsement". And a couple of months ago my dad was gonna let me drive his 50cc scooter to school. He s idk "scared" because sport bikes look dangerous and all of those bs since the 50cc I want is a sport style. He s bringing up a lot of stuff that I can write a essay about and If I were to say somethings back, he d get so pissed and mad that my mom yells at me. I ve been on a 2 wheels for over 8 years and is way to good at balancing. I just want my parents or mainly dad to know how I feel about motorcycle and understand my love for it and it s not dangerous. Yellow goo on oil cap. Should I change the engine oil?

I just did a oil change back in August with full synthetic 0W-20 and a new filter. It's been getting cold recently and upon opening the oil cap on my Honda, there is yellow goo on the cap. Antifreeze level is the same as usual(not blown head gasket). Car has no oil leaks what so ever.

Should I change the oil because condensation had formed in the oil case? On my last car I didn't and it ended up ruining the oil and blowing the piston rings, but is it possible to just drive til it's burned off?

How to fix my aux kit problems?

Hello all.
Not too long ago I bought a 2003 Honda Accord. The car is obviously not made with Bluetooth or even an auxiliary input, but the previous owner apparently installed an auxiliary kit in the car. But it s a little problematic:
Firstly I ve been hearing a high pitched wining sound and sometimes even static when I play music via my iPhone.
Secondly playing music through the radio is awesome, but it s a hassle to switch tracks because the radio controls don t allow me to skip songs (so I have to unlock my phone to do so). What are my options? What should I do?

Why does my car vibrate alot at start up & at idle?

I have a 2008 Honda Civic & it vibrates ALOT when I start it in the morning (avg 75°F) & when at idle at a stop light. It vibrates less when running, but it comes back when I stop at a red light. It vibrates a bit more when it's on PARK. I would like to know a list (as much as you know) of all the this that can cause it to vibrate, thanks.

Just a quick question, would changing spark plugs really help reduce alot of vibrations, or just a little?

Also, so you know how much it vibrates, when I leave a bottle of water in the cup holder, it creates medium/large water ripples.

What car should I get for my first car? - 1

Hi everyone, I'm turning 17 in March and my parents said they would get me a car as long as I pay the down payment (I have $3000 saved up but I don't really want to blow every last penny of the down payment) and its under $200/mo (I can probably get them up to $250 if it'll make a huge difference.)

Just to be clear, I'm looking to lease a new car not buy a car. I know that it's sometimes recommended to buy a used cheap car as a first car but I am a good driver so I won't be denting it up. Also, really want something reliable and safe that has the latest tech.

Right now theres a few cars I'm looking at and they are:
2016 Nissan Altima
2016 Honda Accord
2016 Kia Optima

Theres a few major things that the car I get must have:
Good Fuel Economy
Under $250/mo
Backup Camera
Touch Screen (not a deal breaker but I really want this in my car)

I'm open to cars other then the ones I listed but I've done a lot of research and these seem to be the best cars in the mid-size sedan class that are in the $250 range.

Added (1). By the way I live in Staten Island, it usually snows from December to early February so something that it safe in the snow would be good too. Obviously none of these cars are 4wd so they wont be great but I'm sure you get what I mean.
Added (2). I'm also looking at the 2016 Acura ILX I'm just worried it might be a little to small (its about 10" shorter then all the other cars I'm looking at.) I plan to drive some friends around occasionally so I would need a car that can seat 5 people comfortably.

What should I expect when not taking my 2015 Honda Civic for an oil change?

Battery not holding charge even after replacing several parts?

I am having tough time for past 6 months with my motorcycle that has battery charging issues. The battery gets fully discharged even when the bike is being ridden, leaving the horn and indicators dead. I took it to service centre and they have replaced the battery thrice, regulator rectifier twice, wiring kit and stator. But the problem still remains unfixed. My bike is a 2005 model Hero Honda splendor (100CC, 4-Stroke). I noticed that this is the first time that I am using dry cell ( maintenance free) battery. I wonder if my bike is only capable of properly charging flooded battery that I was using earlier without much problem.
Added (1). The mechanic told me that he has checked the vehicle thoroughly but couldn't find the exact cause of the problem. I took it to another service centre of Hero honda but they too failed to identify the problem. They have now temporarily given me a wet cell battery to see if things improve.

How to disable the factory car alarm on my Honda Passport?

It's a 1998 and I got in it to start it today and it wouldn't start. The alarm went off at first, the sound is dead in it so it's just the lights that blink and you can hear the clicking sound, but the horn doesn't go off. I turned off the alarm and tried to start it again, nothing. I opened the door and closed it again, I tried starting it with the door open. I tried letting it sit for a few minutes. I tried locking and unlocking it, using both the key and the keyless entry. I realized the battery was bad so I got a new one, it still won't start. Everything is clicking like it should but it won't even try to turn over. I put the key in and try to start it but I hear no engine, just a slight very quiet clicking.

Is the alarm dead? I took out the fuse for the anti-theft but it didn't get the car to start. Help?

Can a 2000 Honda Accord be able to pull a little pop up camper?

My dads friend has a camper up north and is willing to pay him and i to go get it, the only vehicle we have to use is my car which is a 2000 Honda accord sedan 2.3 engine. Its about 25-30 hwy mpg.
I do have a hitch i can put on it, i took it off due to lowered problems.
I do have a fully adjustable suspension kit that i can high adjust along with the damping of it. I was going to raise the back to compensate for the weight of the trailer. My only question is can that car hand a drive from Minnesota back to Florida with a little pop up trailer?

93 Honda Accord bad transmission with D4 light?

So I have a 93 Honda Accord LX with 288k miles and I am starting to have an issue with the transmission. I know the car and especially tranny are old so I can expect problems, but this is my project car and I want to find what the transmission problem is before putting a new one in. Okay so the problem happens sometime, like 2-3 times a week, when I'm driving around for a while and come to a complete stop. When I try to take off from the stop the transmission would "slip" and the car will rev up to 2000 rpm and will feel like it lost power. If I keep stepping on it like that it will jerk and resume normal operation after like 5 seconds. When this happens at a stoplight I usually put it in D1 and it will take off normally and I will manually shift through all the gears with no problem. The D4 light also flashes constantly while driving when it happens. I want to know if this is a transmission control unit problem, torque converter problem, bad transmission in general or some other shift solenoid or sensor. I have put in Lucas stop slip and it helped for a month, but then started again. I also noticed the tranny fluid is really dirty and dark. Maybe a tranny fluid change with Lucas stop slip might help, what do you think?

I have an 05 Honda Coupe with a 2.4 manual, but as I was driving it one day the engine light came on. Took it down to the mechanic and they scanned the code and found it was an oxygen sensor. Light when away after replacement. Day later the engine light came back on.

Why is there a power loss when a motorcycle is climbing a mountainous road?

My motorcycle, Honda CG125 (single cylinder) is in perfect order… Runs fine on leveled road.

I have noticed that while climbing a mountainous road, initially it would run fine at lower gear and high rpm (7000+). But after some time, about 30 minutes, it would loose it power. Quite interestingly, I have noticed same behavior with other bikes.

I would like to have some technical reply i.e. How the power is lost at high RPM under load.

Shall appreciate, if links to some technical article and/or some animation is provided.

Any guesses as to why this car won't start?

2006 Honda Civic - we installed a new battery and replaced the starter with a remanufactured one from Auto Zone. After that, not even the lights would come on when turning the keys in the ignition. We took the starter back to Auto Zone, and they found there was a crack in it, and gave us another one, which we installed. But the car still won't start. Is it fuses? Alternator? Voltage regulator? Should we try something else, or just take it to a repair shop. Thanks.

Is Toyota Corolla really worth as a first car?

I'm an 18 year old guy, soon to be looking into a first car, and my sister drives a 2001 Corolla. Her car is many, many problems and is causing her and my dad a lot of money for fixing. She only drives her car to a train station about 10 mins away from our house, and she takes the train to work. So she doesn't drive the car enough for it to depreciate quickly.

A Honda is definitely not an option for a first car because they are one of the most expensive cars to insure according to my insurance company as a result of their safety crash test ratings and so on. Corolla is too, but I can have my dad pay for half he insurance until I get a car that's cheap to insure.
Added (1). @Anne. I thank you for your response to my question. You do have a point indeed. Any car that is that old will eventually depreciate. My cousin told me that BMWs are cheaper to insure than both Honda and Toyota, because some of them drive BMWs and are mechanic, they know alot about carss. And they are, however, Although they encourage me to drive BMW as well because of its safety and reliability, I'm looking into something that's cheaper to insure, reliable and safe. And affordable.

Signed auto contract without down payment… Then backed out! Help?!

I signed the auto contract after being pursuaded by the finance director at Honda dealership that if I didn't like the car, they will cancel the contract for me. I told the finance manager in the office that since I will be buying a used Honda Civic, I want to make sure my mechanic gives an approval upon the inspection before committing to buying the Civic. He then called the finance director to the room and they told me to bring the car back after taking to the mechanic if I didn't like the car. My concern is since I have already signed the contract, then return to inform them I didn't want to buy the car, will I be binding to the contract or they just are going to cancel it? I don't have any paperwork from them. No down payment has been made.

They were pissed after I changed my mind about not buying the Civic and opted out for the Toyota Camry near my house instead.

The main reason the deal didn't go through is because upon reading the contract, I realized the finance manager quoted me wrong and higher price than the internet price that I have agreed. Also he gaves me an interest rate that was way too high while I am qualified for lower APR (I done my research after left their Honda dealership).

My 99 US built honda accord has about 176k miles. The transmission is bad and HAS to replaced. It also burns oil and could use a new muffler. I am interested in selling it to someone I know who is willing to fix it for himself. What is my car worth? What can I give it to him for?
