When the car is idle I can hear the noise and when the clutch is depressed I notice the noise go away. Now I'm no mechanic but the symptoms point to a bad input shaft bearing, according to what I've read online. However, a lot of the bad ISB noises are described as "whirring" and metal banging against each other, but in my car it sounds like a squeak. Almost like a squeaky hamster wheel and it isn't too terribly loud but it is noticeable. So is it the ISB or can it be something else?
