im doing the big 3 upgrade on a 03 honda civic lx and i have 100 amp fuse for the big 3 that is being used with 0 guage wire and i have 100 amp fuse for the amp thats being used with 4 guage wire. 2003 pagsta 50cc transmission?

I'm buying a 50cc pagsta and I'm worried about repairs. The engine is a common one that I can easily replace or repair but it has a strange non CVT 2speed automatic trans with a chain final drive I'm not sure I can find elsewhere. Are there any other chain drive 50cc trans for a Honda engine I could replace it with should it die on me?

Why is coolant leaking from the ends of my top radiator hose on my 1999 honda civic?

There isn t water leaking from anywhere else and it only seems to leak when the car has since cooled. It s never enough coolant for me to have to keep filling it up. I have changed the hose and it still seems to be leaking from the end seams. Any help is appreciated.

Buying a used car…Honda or Hyundai?

I have a 2002 Dodge Neon that I'm ready to sell or trade in. Looking at either getting the 2014 Hyundai Elantra (42,000 miles on it) or the 2012 Honda Civic Coupe (36,000 miles on it). Both are the same price. Advice? Opinions?
Added (1). Either isn't an option. Is one or the other.

How much would it be to repair my Honda cbr F2?

So i have a 93 Honda cbr f2, 600cc, 18,000 miles. Its been sitting, cranks but wont start, it has a new battery. I'm pretty idiotic when it comes to motorcycle repairs since I'm a beginning rider. Basically I think it needs its carbs cleaned, re synched, spark plugs changed; also the on/off switch is stiff, horn doesn't work, and the throttle feels stiff. Any ideas how much itd cost to get this worked out, btw I live in northern California.

Gas light is on but I have full tank (Honda zoomer/ruckus)?

So I got a Honda and today I drove to the gas station before I was driving home. I filled it all up and drove for about 50 minutes when the gas light turned on. I couldn't understand why it did so because I have driven far longer than that without needing gas, so I thought there might be a leak somewhere. So I stopped and checked the tank and it was still a lot of fuel left. I know that the light wasn't supposed to be in when there is so much gas left.

Do you know what could be the reason for why the light is on?

Why does my car have no power at all?

I was at the store parking lot and was ready to leave. I tried to start the car. At the first click the dashboard lights came on but when I tried to turn it over the power just turned off ( all power lights, clock, etc.).
Thought it was a bad battery and had it jumped start to no avail. Bought new batteries at AutoZone and still nothing. Help?

93 Honda civic wont start?

I can hear the fuel pump running. I have a brand new distributer, spark plugs and spark plug wires. And when i crank the car it sounds strong (not low on battery). I can see the spark plug wires are producing a spark.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

What is wrong with my Honda? - 1

I have a Honda accord lx 1998
Timing snap while I was driving in the freeway (about 60 mph)
Car didn t turn on
Timing belt, tensioner, water pump was replace.
Car started but it turned off sometimes. It would start right now and the next trip won t start.

Then this was replace…
Distributor
Cap rotor
Spark plugs
Wires set
Now car starts more often but still has the problem.

Since timing belt went down this is what the car does:

When car is in parking- cold engine rpm is on 1000 rpm and when it s hot is at 1800 rpm.
When the car is on " D " - when cold engine is between 500 and 1000 rpm and it shakes like it wants to turn off. When hot is beetween 1100 and 1500 rpm and it doesn t shake.

When check engine or green key light dont come on on dashboard, when key is on (II) car won t start.

Exhaust does like farts when is cold or low rpm.

It consumes more gas.

Scanner reads problem on cylinder 1 or 2

Car wont start after 3 trips a day and takes about 10 min to 2 hrs to start back again.
What I do to start the car is disconnect battery so the computer can restart. Disconnect cables from cap and engine. And move some fuses. Sometimes I push the car in neutral and the check engine comes on and it s ready to start.

Should I purchase this car?

I am thinking about buying a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 cylinder car. I really love how the car looks and this will be my first car ever buying. I will mostly be using it for commutes from my home to work and maybe 1 long trip a week. My friend mentioned that the car requires special fuel (i385 or something) because its a "racecar". He races cars and is an automotive engineer. This doesnt sound right to me because its a 4 cylinder automatic car and doesnt seem to me like it would need any special fuel. So is he right and is this a reliable car to get, i really dont want to buy an average looking Honda i wanted something that stands out and i really love this car.

Honda Civic LX 1998 auto 4 door fluctuating Idle turned on check engine light Help?

I recently bought this Civic and have to get it inspected, after charging the battery and installing a new radiator with all fresh fluids, the car started great. Then today I started it to check if the cold weather drained the battery, it didn t, but after a couple minutes of idling, it started revving from 1.25 to 2.5 rmp up and down, then the check engine light came on. The weird thing is it that it idles and acts fine in Drive or Reverse. Anyone have a clue on where I can find the problem or how to fix it?

Two red blinking lights when I turn off/ lock my car?

Hi, I drive a 2015 Honda civic EX. There was always the blinking red light near the stereo system whenever I'd turn off and lock my car but after a long drive I had, there is now a blinking red light whenever I turn off/ lock my car near the gas level lights. What is it? Is it also an anti theft light? I've read the manual and it doesn't say. Help!

New job more mileage. Highway Vs City?

Ok so I own a 2011 Honda Civic which gets approximately 26 city mpg and 34 highway mpg.
So I currently work as a pharmacy technician for 1 store who pay me 14.70 an hour.
I drive there 5 days a week (city mileage)5.2 miles there and 5.2 mIles back home.
I have another job offer for a different company but it is a little farther. It is about 8 miles there and 8 miles back on the freeway.
This other company is willing to pay me 15.75 an hour.
My question is, Is the pay worth it to drive approximately 3 miles more everyday on the freeway instead of doing the 5.2 miles in the city?

Why do people try to race my car? Is it a bad thing?

I have a 1999 red honda civic ex coupe with black and chrome rims. Everything is pretty much stock. Im not into jucing up or suping up cars to make them faster because its just my work car and car i drive to college. But i was at a red light and this white audi car pulled up beside me it looked like it could be a 2015 audi tt with red rims but they kept horsing their motor at me so when the light turn green i took off and they caught up with me and kept horsing their motor and it seemed like they suped up their car because the way it sounded like it was a boom of thunder lol but it was so loud that it rattled my car. I was scared because we was in the city limit and the speed limit was 35 mph. I wasnt trying to race them but they passed me and they kept slowing down i guess waiting for me to catch up to them but i just kept driving slow so they just took off and left. Im not the type of person eho race or show off but does that make me look bad and scary?

Its a used 95 honda she paid 2,000$ for it. I told her i will give her 1,000 for it. She said she cant do that so i then offered her 3,000 for it then she just looked confused im not sure if that is good or bad. So i finally offered her 4,000 for it and she just said that she will think about it.

Are Replacing Rear Car Speakers Worth It?

I just replaced the two stock front speakers and head unit on my 2006 honda civic and I realized that the rear right speaker is blown. I can only hear the blown speaker when I play songs with high bass or when I turn the volume up loud. I hear from people that replacing rear speakers aren't worth it because you won't hear a difference in sound quality. Would replacing the blown speaker be worth it? Or would it be smarter to just leave it the way it is?

Honda XR80R 2003 Problems?

My Honda XR80R has been acting up recently. First, it cant run without the choke, Ive adjusted the idle, the fuel/air screw, and cleaned out the pilot jet. Still it wont run with out it. Secondly, it sometimes will start making this weird clicking noise and it the engine might die. Finally, the engine might cut out and when it does there is a weird smell that smells like burning paper. Can someone answer these questions on why this is happening and how to fix it? Im a complete novice on dirtbikes and how to fix them.

Turn in or buy car? Lease?

I have a 2015 Honda Accord (with leather). It is a lease for 3 years, 36,000 miles. The car is very reliable, gas is pretty efficient, and the design is nice. However, I am not fond over the car as I was to my previous car. I am going over my miles soon and I have three choices: Pay the extra miles, pay the rest of my lease early and turn in the car before I hit 36k, or purchase the car. The extra miles would be plus what I owe left on the lease, I can pay up front early the rest of my lease and turn in the car early, and I can always buy the car ($16,000). I don't want to pay mileage, so that option is taken out. It's either pay my lease early and turn in the car before 36k or buy the car and keep making monthly payments. Help!

Estimated tax return or will I owe?

It's a v6 with 175,000 miles on it. After market chrome rims. Rain guards. Tinted windows. Heated seats. Moon roof. Needs new caliper and break pads on back tire. The outer inner(whatever you call it. It's black) plastic shielding under the car is coming off. Needs new front vender and back bumper. Front left side of axle fell off of ball joint. Heat shield is gone. I changed transmission fluid and filter. Runs a like I'm in an airplane sort of but nonetheless it runs and engine is good. Battery is new. What's a fair price? Defrost not Working in my 98 honda civic?!

Everything works fine except when it comes to defrosting my front window. The heater works fine as well as the ac, I don't know if it's normal but when I turn on my ac without pressing any buttons to direct the air it goes straight to my feet( i believe thats normal?). When I press the defrost button, you can hear a humming sound coming from the defroster but no air comes out at all, instead the air goes to the vents on the sides( not the middle vents) and the feet vents mainly. How can I fix this problem folks?

Yesterday I went to an impound lot to check out cars. I'm interested in JDM cars like Honda and Acura specifically. I saw a 1991 Acura Integra (DA) and that car caught my eye because I like those cars. Well I went inside the car and it smelled like weed. I saw the mileage and it was 233,xxx miles. I asked the person to pop the hood and the engine and engine bay looked nice. I told him if there were any problems with the car and he said that the engine's 3rd cylinder needs piston rings because it burns oil. He says it starts and drives. I wasn't really skeptical about the mileage and the problem because Honda and Acura are the most reliable cars out there. I also felt that the shifting was very very smooth and without effort. They want 1500 for it. So what do you guys think. Should I buy this car or should I leave it?

I got my transmission flushed full. 8 Quarts and the guy said my transmission is failing. So he adjusted my throttle pressure now it revs high before shifting gears. Is my transmission really failing or can i adjust the throttle. Pressure to make it shift right again. This is a 1993 honda civic automatic transmission.

2003 Honda Pilot Ball joint stud removal Help?

Im in the process of replacing the lower control arm due to the lower ball joint separated from its housing and start to scratch around the rim. I figure replacing the the whole control arm since the bushings are worn. I just removed the lower control arm, but now only the ball joint stud itself is still attach to the spindle. I cut the boot off since it was useless anyways. (So any ideas on how to remove the stud from the spindle. Control arm is completely off, just Ball joint stud in spindle)

Should I put a 10 amp fuse in place of 7.5 fuse?

Recently I added some footwell lighting in my 2006 Honda Civic Ex. And I blew the original fuse (7.5) and replaced with another 7.5 amp fuse. I ve read that it s a terrible idea to replace 7.5 with 10 but I also added a new circuit to the original dome light circuit. I ve only added footwell lighting to the passenger and driver side, but plan on adding 2 more to the back of the 2 seats. In this case is it ok to add a 10 amp fuse due to the fact that I m adding about 3-4 feet of wire and 10 LEDs?

Ok, so I recently had a new ECU placed in my car, reprogrammed and what not, because some idiots blew it out, jump-starting my car, so anyways, I took it to a honda dealer to get it fixed. Well it runs now, problem is, my moon roof wont open. It doesn't even make a sound like maybe it's stuck. Could they have blown out the morter on it? What could be wrong with my Honda? - 1

I hit a curb while trying to check my blind spot for too long, and I hit it quite roughly. Noticeable damage was my right front tire and wheel, and my steering wheel being off so I assumed an alighnment would be good. I replace the bad tire and rim and I just got an alignment done. The symptoms before doing those things was a shaking/vibrating at high speeds along with a significant pull to the left. After doing those things, the shaking is still present but only around 65-70mph. After driving awhile, it'll shake fairly consistently. My steering wheel is STILL pulling to the left quite a bit. Could this be due to my tires being off balance? Should I get them balanced? The guy who aligned them didn't mention anything about anything being bent under there. And I did get the tire rods specifically looked at and that guy said they were all fine. Do I need power steering fluid to help with the steering wheel? Any suggestions would help a ton.

Honda Civic having a hard time warming up?

I drive a 2008 Civic LX and when its 10 degrees fahrenheit or colder the engine has to sit about 5-10 minutes warming up! If I wait just several minutes the car wont fully warm up til about 20-25 minutes later driving at 35-60mph. ALSO the car oftentimes gets colder, say I'm coasting or just driving 45 through town the temp gauge loses "temperature". Is there anything to worry about? My Volkswagen always warmed up within a few miles and stayed "warm".

Car shop messed up my new car. Who s response?

I JUST bought a used car, clean title and in good condition. Its a 2007 honda accord ex. Friday, The very next day, (Saturday )I took it to a reputable place to get an expensive $300 viper alarm. Well while they were working on it, 4hrs. Later, the told me the car didn t want to start. The manager told me that what happened was that while the car was running, the battery died cause, "it was low" well anyways, to try and restart/jump start it, the used a "jumper box" and well, must have had it on high or something, cause it completely "fried " my ecu and they needed to order a new/used one to replace mine.
So devastated, I got a ride home. And on monay morning, they had it towed at their expense to a mechanic. He ordered the part Tuesday, received it "Thursday " and hasn t been able to fix my car.
Desperate to get my car up and running, I called and asked about it, and it seems like he can t figure out why the new "computer" doesn t want to take a code. I don t know. The manager at the alarm shop feels so bad, he offered free window tint service.

My point, I m fed up with not having a car, if I take it to my own mechanic (honda dealer) will he still be responsible for fixing the damage to my car that his own mechanic can t fix or figure out? What are my options? Cause I ve been nice enough to to let him take it to his own shop of choice, but enough is enough… They are getting no where and I need my car! Please help me. What would you guys suggest I do? I m desperate.

Engine overheating (or at least that s what the temp gauge says so)?

I m in FL and just bought 04 Honda Pilot, 115 k, a week ago. The a/c at the time of purchase seemed to work great. The weather here right now in January is obviously not hot, so I m not running a/c. However, yesterday I had to run a/c full blast because I had my dog with me, and then after five minutes, to my shock, I noticed the temp gauge go up to red zone. I of course pulled over and shut engine. I checked for leaks and coolant, and everything was fine and full. I tried running the car but the problem persisted. Got help from mechanic and we replaced thermostat and coolant, and pressure tested the system. Said everything should be fine. Drove for an hour or two and the temp gauge gearing up back to red zone.

What is going on? Is the gauge not reading accurately? Are my fans not working properly? Water pump? Radiator broken? Or something bigger than that? Did the mechanic miss something?

So my friend gave me a set of wheels and tires and rims, just because, he know they were 17s and he didnt want them. They're much better than the ones I have. I'm just wondering if I can exchange it all out. The wheels and tires he gave me are p215/50r17 and the ones I have on my car currently are p225/50r17. I don't know much about cars and how they work. Because if I can I'll switch them out out, if not I'll just pass them back. I have a saturn aura and he had a Honda civic I think. I'm not sure if that pertains to anything relevant tho.

Fabe not working with car?

Hello. I have a new Honda Accord and the fabe (remote control) is not working for it. The light on the remote blinks when I press a button, but nothing with the car works. It doesn't unlock, lock, pop the trunk, use the alarm when I use it. So, it probably isn't the batteries. I used the actual key to get in the car to see if the push button start would work with the fabe. It did not as expected. Taking it to the dealer is one of the last things I want to do because 1. I'm on a tight budget and can't pay a car company to check it up. And 2. It's winter and I do not want to get my car dirty or in the cold. Can anyone help? Is there a way to sync the fabe with the car or something? It used to work when I first bought it (in July), but maybe since I've barely touched it since (it only has 177 miles on it) that the fabes need resynchronized or something.

i Currently drive a 2013 Honda Civic which has a meter in the dashboard that reads from 0-70 MPG with a 35 mark in the middle but it usually goes to 70 when i let off the gas then if i press the gas down even like insanely lightly. It goes to 15 mpg and its hard to tell what its at because it changes so much. So please help if you have any good input on the situation

My 1999 Honda Accord car just died on me. Radio was still playing but car wouldn't move?

Prior to car dying on me, the key signal was blinking, but key wasn't loose or out of ignition.
Stopped at a red light, then as light turned green and I tried to accelerate, NOTHING happened. Didn't move forward.

I calmly turned emergency signal on so car behind can pass me, put car in park and turned ignition twice before it started and proceeded driving.

No check engine light, no other light came on dash. What happened?

I got an after market radio for Christmas and I asked my uncle to install it he s real experienced with car and modding. I ve been looking at vids of people installing the radios and they all use the dash kits. Was the Auto Body Repair Shop responsible for my spark plug blowing out?

I was involved in an accident where someone had side-swiped my vehicle, a 94 Honda Del Sol. Geico referred me to an auto body shop for the repairs. After two weeks, they called me to come pick up the vehicle. Repairs looked great, however, as soon as I drove it off the lot, there was an immediate difference in the way my vehicle drove. Hesitating, sputtering, not wanting to get up to speed, etc. I turned it around at once and took it back. The technician shrugged it off saying that it was an "old vehicle" and that it drove fine once warmed up and sent me on my way. The next morning on my way to school I heard a loud POP and rattling from under the hood, pulled off to the side of the road only to discover that a spark plug had popped out and busted my plug cover beyond repair. When I dropped the car off there was no evidence of a loose spark plug, it purred like a kitten. So I was wondering if there was anything they might have done to it at the shop. My vehicle was additionally left unlocked (by the shop) in an unsecured, unmonitored parking lot for days at a time, so it could have been tampered with at anytime.

How much should a 05 Civic engine swap cost? Am I getting ripped off?!

I purchased a 2005 Honda Civic (non VTEC) with a blown engine. I dont have much money available so I asked my friends dad to install it an engine for me for a lower price. He said he could do it for $800 for me and it would take about 3 days. (great I thought) I purchased an engine for $600 which ended up having a blown piston and having to file a small claims complaint with the person I bought it from. So I bought another engine for $450 and dropped it off at my friends dad s shop. After about a month he called me up to tell me that the car is done and my total cost is $1700! WTF?! $850 for labor but then another $700+ in parts that he never even called to tell me the car needed?! If this is the average cost of a swap and parts (engine mount, belts, oil change, plugs, gaskets) and nothing else major I wouldn t mind eating the bullet. But I feel like I m getting ripped off. And to make it harder still he s my friends dad. Can anyone shed some light on the avg. Price or offer advice? Thanks in advance!

Honda Civic 9th Gen. Vibration at Idle?

Hi Guys,

I am a proud owner of Honda Civic 2013 (9th Gen) LX 4 door Automatic.
I bought it used for 52 Thousand KM and now it has 72 Thousand KM (20000 in a year)
As a rule I leave the car to warm up in cold mornings, however I started noticing something weird.

In the middle of warming up, The car starts to vibrate the RPM drops whil vibrating, the kind of vibration that would appear just before it stalls.
The car vibrates just for a second or 2 and stops, RPM goes up again and continous to warm up.

I used to feel the same vibration when changing gears (from Drive to Park or Reverse to Park) or turning on the AC, but was very mild, however still can be felt.

Otherwise, when the car is warmed up, it is idling perfectly.

I have already cleaned the throttle body not to long ago, and cleaned the spark plugs as well.
I have took it the dealer ship to advise on the issue, and ofcourse they didnt know what was the issue and decided it was normal!

Any assistance on this regard we be great.

Radiator problem in car but not overheating?

I have a 2001 Honda Civic with 130,000 miles on it. Earlier this week I noticed it was smoking white smoke from where the radiator sits in the car. I put some coolant in it and I've noticed that the reservoir of coolant gets low within 1 day of me putting coolant in it. My heat works and my temperature gauge is normal so I know it's not overheating. Someone suggested a block in the radiator, something about getting it flushed out. I was told that expensive. I'm in college working part-time so I don't really have that much money.

How much money should I tell Attorney General I want from Bryan Honda of Fayetteville, NC?

Okay, I'm going to get a car fax and go to a body shop to have my frame checked to see if it's bent, been wrecked so I can send this info to the attorney general. My 2007 Honda Ridgeline, RT Type, RT Trim, Stock # 1660788,' acted like it needed an alignment when I test drove it. I bought it thinking that's all it was. I took it in a few times and BryanHonda said they aligned it twice but they refuse to put it on the frame machine after I took it to Haymount Auto Repair who said it looks like it's been wrecked before I bought the truck. Attorney general says get a car fax and take to body shop and get proof it's been wrecked which is $350.00. In Feb when I have enough money, I will get car fax and take to body shop. I bought the rig on 10/07/2015, VIN 1J8FF28W28D514393. Price of truck: $12,409.-1,500.00(this line on Vehicle Buyer's Order doesn't say what the $1,500. Is for, it must be the warranty I bought since mileage was 103,669. Total Delivered Price: $13,909. - $4,000 trade-in on my 2008 Jeep Patriot, $105. Sales/Use Tax Service Contracts/Maintenance Agreements = Cash Price or Trade Difference $10,014.00. + Plus: Highway Use Tax $270.24 + Plus: Tag, Title, and Registration Fee: 69.00, + Plus: Dealer Admin Fee: $599. = $10,952.24 Total Balance and Balance Due. I have made two payments of $249.50 so far.
I only called one attorney who would not take my case so I'm going to just attorney general so far. How much should I ask for? Thanks!
Added (1). Haymont Auto tried aligning it three times and the back was still off by 2%. The alignment came out when I drove it after they aligned it. I obtained a printout of the alignment which shows it could not be aligned 100%. I have a hard time steering it and it was going off to the right before I took it to Haymont. Now it's going off to the left. I'm scared to drive it on long drives.
Added (2). VIN # 2HJYK16217H525095 is the Ridgeline's VIN #. And I did talk to the Attorney General before making this post and they said I can do something about it but need to get the car fax and frame checked. I believe the first person who commented may be Bryan Honda or another dealer. LOL

Bad oxygen sensor? Or something else? Help?!

I have a 2004 Honda Accord DX, I have gotten a P0171 error code(Fuel System Lean), and P0131 (o2 Circuit Short to Ground).

My car runs fine once its started and I haven't noticed any gas mileage problems, but when I start it its a rough start and takes 3-8 secs to turn over.\

From my understanding this cant be the O2 sensor because it is in play when starting the engine.

I have been looking everywhere online and only thing i could find at all is to maybe check the some other sensors?

Can these sensor be check with a multi-meter? If so which ones and where? I check the battery and it is fine. Some type of fuel sensor?

I don't want to waste money on buying a oxygen sensor if this really inst the case.

I've recently got a car and we'll it really isn't my taste. I've been driving civic's, integras,preludes and flooring them to the limit and well now I'm stuck with a family car, 2016 Honda Hrv but it is a Manual 6 speed ;) It only has 140hp I want to bump to around at least 200hp. On part (7) and (8) it says to turn the belt adjusting bolt counter-clockwise to loosen the belt. But how do I gauge the bolt and belt tension after I put the new belts on? How do I know when I've screwed the bolt enough, too much or too little?

Will the car s ECU will fail due to the lose connection in distributor to spark plugs?

I cleaned the spark plug wires that cones out from the ECU and cleaned them. Once I connected the wires back and start the engine, I noticed that the engine is rough on idle and suddenly engine turned off. So I again checked the wires that I cleaned earlier. Turned out that 1 and 4 spark plug wires were not connected properly. So I reconnected them and tried to start the engine, but its only cracking. Further checking, I found that I am not getting any spark from the spark plugs. I am worried about ECU, so any advice is appreciated. My car is Honda City 2001 Manual.

I m 16 and we have been looking at trucks so I can get back and to from school and work. I made agreement with my mom that I ll make payment and she ll do insurance. The problem is every quote we get is around $2500 semiannually. The motorcycle I m looking at is a 2016 Honda crf250l. Street legal dirt bike. I live in GA so its usually not to cold… I ve had a dirt bike before so I know how to ride… And insurance on it for me would be $600 annually. What is the logical thing to do in this scenario?

I am currently leasing a 2015 Honda Accord and want to take a class in Chicago that meets once a week for 8 weeks. I live 3.5 hours from Chicago. I have completed the first year of a 3 year, 36K mile lease. I am now at 15,500 miles. The class starts in February. Honda stream( New type) vs 5a-fe corolla?

I have a corolla (1998) with a 5a-fe engine. I was in the process of overtaking a honda stream, when suddenly, he started to accelerate. So I started to race him. We were on a wide open road ( no traffic), I reached a top speed of 160 km/h ( in 4th gear), before I had to slow down(corner) . He had about one and a half car lenght on me, so I assumed he was going about 170-175 km/h. My question is, what would have been the outcome, if I had a 4a-ge 20v engine, or 4a-fe turbo. And can I install a 3s-ge or 2zz-fe engine?
