Is the USA 80 percent atheist?

That seems to be the opinion of the Christians who answer a previous question:

"Why do Christians support abortion?"

They gave answers similar to:

"As Matthew suggested, some people could claim to be Christian but are closeted atheists."

"Saying I'm Methodist or Baptist no more makes you Christian than saying I'm a Honda makes me a car. "

"Many so-called Christians are in name only."

"Everyone who calls themselves Christian doesn't mean they are."
