What is needed to turn an auto car into a manual?

i have a 2003 honda civic lx 1.7 liter automatic car, stock. I love manuals and the driving experience that comes with it. And i kinda want to turn my car into a sleeper. Luckily i dont have to pay much. My friends automotive school doesnt charge its students for labor so they can bring in their cars or their friends and families cars to be worked on and they get 40-60 percent off parts. All i have to pay is the reduced price for the parts. So i just wanted to know what parts i would need to completely swap an automatic transmission to a stick shift? And what model would you recommend in terms of performance, cost, and long term durability? Id really appreciate it!
