Why did my car get so loud?

I have a 2002 Honda Civic lx. Recently it got really loud. The noise happens when i press on the gas. It sounds like im driving a motorcycle when its a small car. Just dont know much about cars and need some help. I looked under the hood and realized a crack. Idk if it means anything but ill post the picture if it helps. Any info is appreciated!
