Best way to rebuild my motor?
I really want to rebuild my Honda civic 2001 motor. But it has 209k miles on it. I don't want to buy a new car because my grandpa bought it for me when I turned 16. At the time it had 195k on it. So I don't want to break his heart by selling it and buying a better car. So I want to stick with my Honda and rebuild my motor and make it a little faster. My friend has a civic and it has 240k miles and he just put a turbo in his. I'm not going to do that though I want to rebuild it. Like buy cams etc. Like buy new stuff for the motor to make it last longer. I want a new transmission (6 speed). It automatic atm. But anyways what's the best way to do this? I'm willing to spend a decent amount of cash on this. My friend thinks the best way is to boost it but idk. I want someone that is really experienced to give me advice. I know I'll probably be made fun of because I have a vtec motor or be called a ricer but honestly **** all the haters. I want to do this because all my friends have nice fast cars. Like mustang gts, g35, evo, boosted colbolt, s2000. And we constantly go to car meets and its kinda embarrassing when I have a stock slow civic. I can't hang with them and keep up with them. But I can't get rid of the civic I gotta stick with it so any ideas to make it faster, better, last longer, and not blow up my engine? I'm going to change my oil every 3k miles and take care of it. So please someone help me.
