Best way to become an electrician?

I'am a master mechanic. Toyota and Honda factory trained. ASE certified master mechanic. 7 years of experience I flag 80-100 hours by thursday because by that point there is no more work. And winter time well 65-80 hours is all I get and fired if I leave before 5 even though Im flat rate. Work 50 hours a week (because they want us to work 7-5 now instead of 8-5) and 3 saturdays a month. Have $12,000 worth of tools (a lot of craftsmen stuff I cut corners where I could) I make $13.00 a flag hour. I;ve interviewed with every shop in the state lets just be real this career is a dead end joke. These places charge $140 and hour and pay us $13-$17 and hour. They want cheap labor. Management is paided off gross that's why. I fell in love with electrical and engine performance (engines are controlled with electronics) work. And I really enjoy it I also need a career that's going to pay me a livable wage at least afford health insurance. I'm 25 years old and I'm not going to put up with this automotive bullshit anymore. It's time to move on. I want to be an and electrician. I noticed there are a few routes. We have a vocational school here that I can get an associates in industrial electricity, I have seen the IEC program and we have a Local union. Which is the best route to take? If I go to a trade school will people even hire me? Should I just apply for IEC I just don't want to to IEC and look like im trying to take the short route in. I want to to take the most successful route.
Added (1). That is 80-100 every 2 weeks. And have 40-50, 50 if there is enough work hours flagged hours flagged by thursday and till have another 10 hours to work for the week weather and may or may not get paid for it.
