Why would I buy a honda grom?

Lately I've seen many people buying honda groms, and large fan bases developing. I was just wondering why. I'm not against the grom, and I'm not trying to say anything bad about thrm, I'm just looking for opinions on what makes them desirable. With a top speed of 60ish, and a size that looks pretty uncomfortable for anyone over 5'10 what is the appeal? To me it is an expensive, scooter, with better looks. The gas mileage is impressive, and I can see how that would attract buyers, however I can't see many other reasons. Maybe the grom just doesn't appeal to my riding style, I'd just assume for the same price, a used cbr or ninja in the 250 to 500 range, or a good dual sport would accomplish the same tasks, with the added benefit of more speed. As I said before, I'm not here to bash the grom, just looking for others opinions, and maybe one will change my mind. Thanks!
