Looking for a aftermarket speedometer for my 1993 honda cbr 900?

I bought a 93 honda cbr 900 last year. It has been customized. The person I bought it from said it has a 99 motor in it. Bodies a 1993. I ordered 93 honda cbr 900 speedometer assembly and found out the bike has 99 rims on it, which is the year they went digital so no longer needed the speedometer assembly and cable to the tire… So now I'm out of luck, because the bike still has the 93 speedometer gauges on it. It's to expensive to get a 99 speedometer assembly and make it all work. I've been thinking of just using a Garmin Nuvi 65lm for a gps and it'll show my speed on it…

What I'm looking for is if anyone knows if I should do that, or if there is an aftermarket or digital speedometer I can install on it that will work. Because right now I don't know what my speed is Rpms, or temperature… I kind of want it to work but the cost of getting all the old stuff is expensive. Any information can help and supply links to speedometers if you have any thst will work on my.bike.
