What car should I get for a first car? - 1

So, these are my option.s I'm 18, just getting my G2 in a few weeks and these are my options.

- BMW
- Toyota
- Volvo

I feel Toyotas are not safe based off the stories I have heard. Honda is the same thing. This guy I met at my cousin's auto repair shop, told me that he was once in a Honda, and some driver accidentally hit the car somewhere and he flew out of the window. My dad now drives Toyota Corolla, and he told me he once had a Volkswagen, and when he was parking it in a public mall parking lot or wherever, he hit the front bumper of the car really hard and he thought his bumper was garbage. He goes outside to check, and he sees a small scratch on the car. Volvo, I don't know how they are whatsoever, they seem like really safe cars though.

My cousin who is a mechanic, drives a lot of BMWs, He buys them, and sells them, and does all kinds of selling and buying with BMWs. He says BMWs are his favorite in terms of reliability and such.

Any ideas as to what I should get?
