I am a beginner with some experience, I plan on getting a sports bike soon and am looking for advice?!

Hello, thank you for the help/advice!
I have been doing research and I have already decided on a few things. Firstly, I will not be buying new of course, I plan to wait, look around and compare the used bike s I like. (Honda CBR300R ABS) / Yamaha r3) Since I m buying used my problem would be the fixes/maintenance for the bike I think. The reason for my choices is because they are reliable, affordable, good fuel mileage and performance given they good beginner bikes. The reason I want a bike is because I had a dirt bike when I was younger and can t stop doing research or wanting to get my own now that I m older and independent. I am 5ft 10" 140 lbs working on saving up more $$, getting my gear and license. *thinking of doing a motorcycle safety course, as I don t have a motorcycle right now to do m1 exit test.
