Is $450 a great price to replace a rear main seal on an old 2000 Honda Accord?
The dealer wants $1,400 for labor because they say it's an 11 hour job & they charge $125 per hour. But a local shop said they will do it for $450. My everyday mechanic wants $1,000. It's a lot of work because they have to drop the tranny. But for a 2000 accord with 150k miles which price point would you go with paying?

How to go about planning a trip for a 250cc motorcycle?
I have daydreamed about taking off on a motorcycle trip and traveling America for years now. I have come to realize that I am still young at the age of 22 and thought I should make it happen this summer break. I have saved up money and will continue to do so until the summer.
I plan to make my way from Boise Idaho to Seattle then from there I will go down through Oregon and to Northern California where there are a couple of work exchange opportunities that I want to do which means that I will be helping out with labor (mostly on farms) in exchange for room and board which will save me some money… Or I could camp, but it sounds like a new experience to work for it.
I have read a few ride reports on sites like ADVRider where people ride cross country on 50cc scooters which makes me feel better about my situation. I plan to do this trip on a 1995 Honda CB250 Nighthawk that I have been riding for about 4 years now. Obviously, this isn't a great bike for freeways.
How would you go about planning a trip for a 250cc… Is there a way to find out the max speed limits of highways by looking them up on gps, maps, or other sources? The fastest I have gone on the CB250 is about 70-75 maybe at high RPM.

2014 Honda Civic won't start?
I had the battery in the smart key replaced. Still will not even unlock the door, Opened door with manual key and pushing on the push button (red on/off button) had no effect, no noise, no lights, no nothing. Had it towed to dealer, they said it's more than a key programming issue

What size dirt bike do I need?
I'm 6'3", about 175lbs, going on 20 years old, and I've had several motorcycles. I currently have a 2005 Honda Shadow 750 (for the road). Before that, I had a 2001 YZ250, and LOVED it. Well, here I am wanting to get another dirt bike for offroad. The thing is, although I absolutely loved my YZ250, it was a bit too much power for me to be able to open up on my farm, and with a 2 stroke, it's either wide open, or nothing. So I'm thinking about getting a 4 stroke this time, but I'm not quite sure what size to get. What do you guys recommend?

1998 Honda Accord 2.3l vtec 5sp trans so my car idle is surging?
so my car idle is surging. When I start the car it will idle around 2k for a couple min. Then it will go into a surge. It will idle between 1 and 2k. I have noticed if I rev the car over 5k (quick rev) the surge will go away and idle perfect. It will hold a perfect idle until I start driving again.
I have replace the following.
Iac valve
Tps
Map sensor
Throttle body
Coolant temp sensor
No vacuum leaks
I have burped out the cooling system to many time to count. I have also pulled the number 13 fuse and tried a idle relearn. I'm running out of ideas here. Is it the pcm? Are there any other test to do? It's driving me crazy.

Added (1). My main concern is that new seals make it very hard to press the two parts of the carb rack together, and I don't want to put undue stress on 31 year old brittle plastic fuel tubes that can't be had for love or money.

How to get out of a car lease?
I recently leased a honda in August, and I am not fully happy with my decision although it is a very nice car. I initially wanted a jeep wrangler but they didn t have the one i wanted that s within my price range. I looked all over and no one had it, so i settled for the Honda. So my question is how much would it cost me if i were to get out of my lease and get a wrangler. What can i do? I know i shouldve waited but i was too excited about purchasing my first car.

Honda Passport C70 Choke/Carb Issue?
Just recently purchased a Honda C70 Passport scooter. The thing was garaged for the last decade so hasn't seen more than 100 miles in the last few years.
The bike has been running perfectly up until yesterday. With the choke off (pushed in) the bike still revs very very high, as if the choke is still out, and when I pull the choke on (pulled out) it seems to idle lower and then rev very high again.
Wondering where I should start looking to remedy the situation. The cable seems to be engaging/disengaging the choke.
Could it be that the carb needs to be dipped, cleaned? Jets? Floats? Not too familiar with carbs other than the basic assembly…
any and all help appreciated!

What is a good first motorcycle? - 1
I'm looking into buying my first motorcycle. I'm a 16 year old guy and i weigh about 140 pounds. I was thinking of spending around 1500-2000 dollars. I don't really know what a good first bike would be so i figured i would ask. I've been looking at honda nighthawks and one I found was a 2008 250 with 10k miles on it that was 2 grand. So i guess i'm asking if that bike would be worth it and any other bike in general. I like the style of the nighthawk and bikes like it so any like that would great. Thanks!

USA 2002 Civic stereo to Japanese 2002 civic stereo?
I'm in Japan & got a 2002 Honda Civic hatchback, just to get from point a to point b, I want to change the stereo, if I buy a 2002 stereo & harness and antenna and all that from Amazon, for American Honda civics, will it fit in a Japanese Honda Civic?

Advice for an Electrical Engineering drop out?
Hey YA community
So I'm proud to say I made it all the way to linear algebra -one class beyond diff eq. I took all the calc based physics I needed & all that circuit jazz. Today might be my last day. Looking around, there wasn't a lot of us left. I'm looking to join that group, but not because of poor grades or my disinterest in physics; I just want some raw experience. I want to sell my belongings, hop in my Honda, & take off from Minnesota to somewhere…
I have $4k in my savings. I went to a community college my first year half, so I owe Sallie Mae [only] $9k. I have a grace period after the end of the semester so I have quite a bit of time & I'll probably open up another account, stick a grand or two in it & set up automated payments & forget about that ***** for a while.
What should I do? Where should I go?
I want to head somewhere warm. My dream was to go into research, maybe find a substitute for silicon. The world could use a new transistor. Reality is… It's just too out of reach for me. Undergrad >> grad school… Uhh & the $$$.
Now my dream is to go out on my own & btw, I'm kicking myself for not tossing the breadboard aside & gone straight into programming. I am clever. How long you think it'd take me to learn how to develop apps? 2 years? I have a few ideas…
Btw, I'll be leaving Uni on good terms. I mean, I'll have failed this semester's courses because I'll stop going but I don't think the instructors here care.

What should my first motorcycle be?
Hey guys,
I'll be looking at buying my first motorcycle this weekend, and I've been doing tons of research on the best bike for me, but I'm a bit torn.
I took the MSF course on a 125cc cruiser and really liked the cruiser riding position, so I am leaning towards a cruiser - they have a low center of gravity, a linear power band, and forward controls, which I like.
But the problem is, cruisers are heavy and expensive, and the one's that aren't are under-powered. I'll be looking to finance my first bike and pay it off within a few months (it's my personal decision - please don't just say 'buy used'), and can comfortably spend up to about $7000. I could spend more than that, but I'd need to keep the bike for a long time to justify that.
I really like bikes like the honda rebel or vstar 250, but they can't handle the freeway, which is a concern for me - in my area, people go very fast on the road. But the next step up - the 750s, seem like really heavy/big bikes for a beginner.
With those needs in mind, do you guys have any suggestions on what my first bike should be?

I've ridden my grandpa's Moto Guzzi 750cc Standard, and could handle it okay - (it's 450 lbs)
Added (2). Also, it helps to know that one of the reasons I'm getting this bike is to go on rides with my grandpa, so being able to ride for longer distances comfortably is preferable.

2005 honda pilot, what are the effect of the oil pan abs sensor if your car does not have one?
I have a 2005 Honda pilot and i just replaced my oil pan at the dealership due to a stripped drain plug. They said that there is a back order of the abs senser for the oil pan ( didnt know there was an abs sensor for oil pan) that it might take a while. Now that i am waiting my car has been making a wisking noise every time i step on the pedal, then my fuel guage fluctuates, and my car is burning more fuel than ever. I called the dealership and will be taking it back. Now can the sensor affect all this or is it something else.

What would be the kind of sports bike apt for a beginner to start-off?
I'm new to riding bikes, and I've ridden cruise bikes(
I'd like to start-off my sports-bike riding. For now, my options for a beginner's sports bike are a Kawasaki Ninja 300, a Honda CBR250RR and a 600RR.
I could afford a budget around 6,000 USD to 7,000 USD.
What, according to your opinion and experience, would be a good starter sports bike for a beginner? And what kind of technical know-how and riding skills should I be needing to work on, in order to use one properly?

Can I fit tail lights from a 2-door Civic Si to a 4-door Si?
This is probably a dumb question, but I haven't gotten my Civic Si yet and have no idea if I'd have to remove the whole backside of the car. I'm new to Hondas, so I'm still a newbie to this kind of stuff. I dislike the sedan tail lights and love the coupe tail lights. Is it possible? And if so, is it difficult and expensive to do so?

i bought a used 03 honda civic that needed an oil change, when i bought it no oil was leaking or anything, i took it to midas to have the oil changed and a few days after i saw oil running down the engine, its not leaking from the filter or drain plug its leaking down the engine look at the photo where the arrows are pointing is where the oil is sweeping out.

What to use to clean the inside of my engine?
I recently brought a Honda cb550. Prior to buying it I was told there was a head gasket oil leak. Since I have to strip the engine to change the gasket I thought I might as well give it a good clean. As I know the engine hasn t had the oil changed in a long time I know it needs a good old clean inside anyway. So I wanted to know what spray/fluid would I use inside to clean all the components and and walls of the engine? Is there anything I shouldn t use and is there something that works for cleaning all the components and engine parts? Thanks!

Rebuilt top end on honda 350 rancher two times but rings keep going out after 2 good rides?
Cylinder bore and hone on stock was done professionally. It is a aluminum cylinder with steel sleeve. Rings, piston and wrist pin were replaced with Wiseco's replacement parts specifically for this 4 wheeler. Piston rings were staggered exactly to Wiseco's instructions. All gaskets were replaced and valve seals were replaced. Ring gaps were checked and in spec. Air filter is pretty clean and attached. The 4 wheeler runs excellent for the first 40-50 miles then slowly goes to **** the next 10-15 miles till it smokes up a storm. When engine is disassembled the cylinder hone is wiped smooth and ring gap has slightly increased valve seals and all gaskets still seem to be in good shape. I constantly check oil and oil stays clean till blow by and cylinder wear occurs. I have installed rings on personal cars dirt bikes and Pwc's before without issues but this 4 wheeler is throwing me through the ringer and making me feel like an idiot.

P0430 After Replacing Bad Ignition Coil?
So recently i had a ignition coil go bad in my 2003 honda accord v6 sedan. I replaced the bad ignition coil and ran good again. After a few days driving the check engine light came on and ran the scanner and shows p0430. Car has about 158k miles and never had a check engine light since i bought the car with about 126k miles. What could be the problem?

Why are new vehicles few services too early?
I've bought a new 2 wheeler Honda Activa 3g (8'jan'20016). When I saw It's manual book I had come to know that they gave me 4 so called free services and 1st should be done with in 30 days or 7500-1000kms (whichever is earlier). So, problem is that i don't ride much and when I took my scooter to the service center It was only 161kms done on Odo-meter. They charged me 500 /- Rupees only for changing oil and wash I told them about few minor issues but they didn't resolve anything except changing oil and washing. I want to know, why are these new vehicles required early services.

2 stroke help, please! RPM's lower, then bikes quit?!
This has happened with 2 of my vehicles. A 1997 Polaris 400 Sport quad, and a 2004 Honda CR125 bike. They will start fine and I can take them out for a quick rip, but after 2-3 minutes, the bike/quad will slow down, RPMs will lower, then the bike will die and not start again, and even sometimes backfire. It couldn't be a faulty top end, because the 125 is coming off a fresh rebuild. It couldn't be the carb, because on the Polaris, it has been torn apart and cleaned more times than I can count. The plugs are brand new. Thank you!

My 2000 Acura/Honda integra gsr is not accelerating correctly? Help?
So it started about a week ago when this problem started. The problem went away for a couple of days and today it came back. At first i though it was the transmission or the clutch slipping. What happened today was that i was at around 6k rpm on vtec and all of the sudden it feels like the car is stopping/slowing down and i am on full throttle. I looked at my rpms and they are not moving. So i parked the car for five hours and then a drove it again and it felt fine but then moments later in started again the car was hesitating to accelerate as if it was not getting enough fuel or something. I am still thinking its my clutch or my tranny. But then i notice the car was doing it worst. So i park my car and without the car moving i can her the car is not acting right. So i accelerate on neutral and the car was hesitated. I am going to change my fuel filter and see if that is the problem from what i have research people had the same problem and changed the fuel filter and that solved the problem. I have no Check engine light on yet so i dont think its an 02 sensor, however my mainteance light is flashing but then goes away if that helps. What else can it be? Also when i am in first gear the car is not accelerating properly and start vibrating/shaking and i have change my spark plugs around 3k miles ago i need some advice.

LX has 40k miles at $11k
EX has 58k miles at $13k.
Is it worth paying $2k more for that 16" alloy wheels, navigation, and outside temperature measurer? (Idk what else is different)

Is it a Honda design philosophy?
When Honda 1st came up with their 1st 2 stroke v3 500cc GP machine, it was made to be compact, lightweight, very nimble, handles superbly & very easy to ride. Now ive been watching quite a number of shootout reviews on youtube where they compare 1 bike of whatever category from the smaller cc bikes all the way to the huge tourers against its competing brands. And it seems that all the honda bikes follow the above formula - always down on power but always better against the rest with the above qualities most especially the handling, ease of riding & comfortable ergos.
But this down on power issue seems to be a constant gripe apart from its minimalist approach to electronic rider aids (i agree with the latter point at least) in both video & written comparison reviews. Since its spread across their whole range of bikes, why does honda deliberately make their bikes lower on power?
Sacrificing some power for better control, ridability & reliability? Honda is very famous for these 3 elements at least.

What is a good family car?
A few years ago I had the option of getting a Cadillac or a Honda. I chose the Honda because it was the perfect size. But now, my Honda is getting really old and I want to buy a nicer car. Unfortunately I can't afford a Cadi like I used to be able to, so can anyone help me find nice family cars that estimate to around 40k? That's pretty much my limit and I know there's not a lot of nice, reputable cars that low of a price but it'd really help if you helped. - No minivans please. Thanks.

I m a college student and have been searching for a car for the past few months. I m very limited on my choices because I can only spend about $2000. I recently found out that a friend of mine is selling his 04 honda civic. The exterior and interior are flawless, it has new tires, and a new head. It also shifts very nicely, so I don t see any signs of needing a new trans soon. The car has 195k miles and is selling for $15000. He told me however that there is a small tapping noise when the gas is pressed, a rocker tap. Before I make this investment, someone Please tell me if it s a smart decision. I need honest opinions!

Hi I own a Honda civic. The rear springs are very worn. Or maybe the drive train. It makes shifting difficult as the car squats if accelerated hard. And it feels as the hard is lurking back and for.

1997 Honda Civic Oil Leak?
I have a 1997 Honda Civic Coupe automatic has about 190k miles just got done doing the oil change last month. I got home after driving the car for a while and I could smell oil Bruning so I opened the hood and could see white smoke coming out from the car. I couldnt exactly pin point the exact location from where the smoke was coming from but it seemed mainly somewhere right infornt the engine where the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter is. Couple weeks prior to that when the engine light first came on I had the codes checked out and catalytic converter was the only thing coming up. I don't know much about cars so don't be quick to judge me but my question is would it be the catalytic converter causing a oil leak? If not what could it be? And had anyone had similar situation or know what it is?

What car is the fastest and most fun to drive out of these?
My parents are letting me pick out a car with a budget of 7k and they want me to get something that is reliable. I want a sedan from not too far ago year like 2003+. With those restrictions my choices are basically these:
Honda civic and accord
Toyota corrola and camry
Subaru impreza
Volkswagen jetta and passat
I know v6 engines are best for speed and that is definitely what i am looking at. Which of these cars is fastest and has the best acceleration like 0-60 mph time? I basically just want a car that has good pickup from rest or even pickup while driving like going from 50-100 mph and can drive at high speeds. Thanks.

Honda Civic 2003 for first car?
Okay so I have a few questions. As a backstory, im an 18 year old guy, live in the LA area, and i'm gonna be taking my driving test in a few weeks. The past few weeks i've been researching cars because I plan on purchasing my first car. My limit is $6,000. Anyway, i've been looking up local used cars on Autotrader and I found a few good looking deals.
There's one in particular that caught my eye. A 2003 Honda Civic for $5,500, and it's nearby. The only thing is that it has 131,000 miles on it, and i'm wondering if a car with that many miles is worth it for the price. I'm a bit of a car noob obviously, so I just wanted to get some opinions from people with experience. Is that mileage too high? I know Honda Civics are VERY reliable cars

Ahhh - I think i'm cursed with vehicles.
Bought a used Honda Shadow 2007 1100cc Cruiser about 10 days ago. Have been riding it daily without a problem. Was planning on going on a 200 mile camping trp tomorrow morning. However - while riding it tonight - it turned off on me…
I rode about 3 blocks from home and then it turned off and would not start back up. Its not a battery problem - it all lights up - and it tries to turn over. However it just doesnt go.
I've been playing with the choke a lot while starting it up because its a colder part of the year and it needs to have the choke on when starting.
I'm particularly new to riding bikes so I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm ******* bummed and frustrated though. I disconnected two plugs from the engine tonight and will reconnect tomorrow and try to start it.
If anyone can give me some feedback on what they think could be wrong - and what I can do to fix it - let me know. Thanks.

The battery light on my 2000 Honda Accord goes on for a few seconds at a time and then goes off again. It does this several times a day, this despite having just changed the battery, alternator and alternator belt. Why?

Can I jack my car up from the front tow hooks?
My 2006 Honda Accord has two tow hooks in the front located in front of/near both of the front two wheels. Is it safe to jack up the car from there and then put the jack stands on the pinch welds? My jack doesn't reach the solid metal piece running across from one tire to the other.
The jack also does not have a wide enough lift to properly jack up from the pinch welds, they keep slipping/folding when jacking it up from there.

Honda civic 2000 blown headgasket?
So I know I have blown my headgasket in my honda civic 2000, it as caused by a leak in my hot water hose and my fan not turning on. The hose has been fixed as well as the fan. It runs but I still only drive it when i have too. Its been about month since that happened and I have only had the car start to look like it was going to overheat once because I was in traffic. Also when i move my car and look on the ground there is a slight amount of coolant on the ground but not very much. It also isn t leaking any oil. So I am not sure if its worth getting fixed and if I solved the main problems of why it was overheating at first. I also haven t needed to put more coolant in it very much because it isn t leaking as much. So my question is that if I should fix it or let it be and if its ok to drive still.

How much does a car's reliability decrease with age and mileage?
I'm considering changing my 2009 vectra for a 2014/15 insignia. A new car is always a nice idea but one of the big factors is reliability. At 70k how likely is my vectra to let me down? It has been regularly serviced. Changing cars is obviously expensive but you get a new car out of it, I'm not a fan of pouring hundreds or even thousands into repairs on an older car. I know there are probably cars more reliable than the insignia but then that's reflected in the price, a 2014 insignia with 20k miles is a similar price to a 2012 Honda Accord with 50k miles (that bit closer to some major repair?)
So what I'm wondering is how much does reliability decrease with the age of a car? Clearly even a new car can break down but at what age does reliability fall off the edge of a cliff? I assume a 1 and 2 year old car would be similarly reliable, how about 5 and 7 year old for example?

I just got finished with my motorcycle courses approved by the DMV but what do I do now?
So I am 17 years old and just finished the classes so the next step is taking teh DMV written test for motorcycles right? After that do i have to wait 6 months in order to drive on the freeway? Or can I drive on the freeway once I get the license because the bike shops are in other cities? I live in California and have already had by drivers license for a car for 5 months.
Added (1). If you could recommend a bike that would be awesome I practiced on the 250cc honda rebels in the classes and were relatively easy to control and light for me. I was checking out some 500 cc bikes and 300cc bikes which one should I be looking at?

Why is my car overheating? Thermostat?
It's a 1996 Honda Civic. 126,000 miles. I've been gone for like 6 months for college. So it did a lot of sitting. But when I came back, it drove fine. But suddenly I noticed the heat needle raising all the way to red, but I couldn't park because I live in a city setting and couldn't find parking, but after a few minutes, the heat needle went back to normal. It was weird. It over heated and unheated while driving. It does this a more often than not now. Could it be the thermostat? I'd love to fix the problem. Thank you

Why does my fuse keep blowing in my cigarette lighter when it exceeds the factory specs?
I bought a Satechi sound-fly AUX FM modulator, which plugs into my cigarette lighter. It includes a 500mA fuse and a replacement. Both of these blew out. I tried a 2 Amp and a 5 Amp. They blew out as well. I drive a 2003 Honda CR-V, and the lighter is 12V.

My car has sluggish acceleration in any weather *above* 45 degrees F. When it's cold out, my car takes off like a bat out of hell with pretty much NO acceleration problems. Once it's warm, forget it, it's like driving a turtle.
I had the vacuum lines smoked, no leaks found. Fuel system and throttle body cleaning was just done at Honda last week, no luck.
Fuel trims are STFT 7%, LTFT 7%, which is slightly lean, but I can't figure out what the hell's causing it.

Do I really need to change fuel filter for my 2004 honda accord?
It reached 127 k miles. The owners manual discuss nothing about replacing it but many mechanics talk about replacing it every 30 k miles. The car runs great. It takes little more gas than before. I didn't change transmission yet. I didn't change drive belt yet. Also I didn't do brake fluid, power steering fluid, or coolant change yet. The only I did are oil& filter, air filter, ac filter and brake pad. I will do all these soon. Do you think it is important to change fuel filter?

08 Civic's trunk won't open?
My 2008 civic's trunk won't open. I've tried the manual latch attached to gas latch inside vehicle, I've tried the trunk button on keys.
called honda and they said they'd charge me $700 (yes $700) to "break the locks" and open the trunk.
isn't there another cheaper option?

Honda Civic 2003 Belt Squealing?
My power steering belt started squealing a while ago, so I tightened it to the specifications listed in the owner's manual. It kept squealing, is this because it could be worn down? It was replaced 9 months ago, but could it have gotten worn down while it was squealing? Would it be a good idea to just replace it?

Kawasaki Ninja 300 or Honda Cbr300r?
As a beginner I'm not sure which one to go with here. I have been riding dirt bikes in my past years so I figured the 300's would be fun to start on. I'm female relatively small, about 5'2 and 120lb. Any advice on which bike to go for? I've always liked the Honda Cbr model but cant decide if I should give the other a chance. Is there anything you do or don't like about them?

Radiator fan not working on Honda civic 96 ex?
I checked the fan itself by hooking it up to the battery and it works, then i checked the relay by putting a paperclip in the fan switch and ut works so i thought it had to be the cooling fan switch so i bought that and put it in. But the fan would still not turn on. I then changed the thermostat with new gasket but still doesn't work any advice? I have been using the paperclip method to keep the fan running enough to get me to class but i don't want to rely on it to much especially if it happens to fall off during driving. And yes i know the fan is supposed to come in automatically is the engine gets hot enough but when it still doesn't come on when there is smoke coming from the radiator then im sure i have a problem. Also i bleed the system to remove the bubbles and yes it still does not work. Could a blown headgasket be the problem?

Why did my 2003 Honda Pilot engine just died while i was driving around 30-40 miles per hour?
It virbrates every now and then when i hit 35-40 miles really bad of the whole car and I also have a check engine light and vtm-4 light on. I was able to turn off to a side street put in park and shut off and then started the car back up and it was fine again. Any ideas?

What part should I replace?
My wife's car is clanking pretty bad when she turns so I checked the cv axle and it's ok but the upper tie rod boot is leaking. I jacked the car up an wiggled it around there is some play but not a lot. My mother inlaw took it to a mechanic and they didn't really know what was. They said the r&p is ok but i dont know what else could be wrong then other than the ball joint. Also the car doesn't steer funny other than its out of align and can't be aligned because of the problem. Her car is a 2003 Honda Pilot.

Is the 1985 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft compatible with the 86-2001 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft?
I have a 1985 CR 500 and the water pump gear shaft broke. It has been discontinued from Honda, and no one else has it. It is a metal gear. The one's for the 1986-2001 CR 500 are plastic. If I have to use plastic, I will. However, I prefer not to. If anyone knows where I can get the OEM 1985 Honda CR 500 gear shaft, I would forever be grateful.

Just bought an old car, costing me a lot of money, what are my rights?
I bought a 2004 Honda civic from my mechanic 4 months ago (190,000 miles) he had gone through and fixed everything and was going to charge me accordingly.
When all was said and done, it was about $4,300.
A couple weeks later, my check engine came on, no heat and the car was stalling… Brought it in and he fixed it for a couple hundred
A month after that the engine starts to rattle like mad and the car won t move… Brought it in, he said the transmission is bad, fixed it for $1,200
2 months later (currently) no heat, smoke pouring out from under my hood, I pull over and anti freeze has exploded all over everything…
This time I take it to my boyfriends mechanic, he says all 4 of my ignition coils are bad and my car is burning anti freeze. He s replacing the coils for me… Now what can/should I do about this? Do I have any rights to go after my mechanic?

We said we are not "on the spot buyers" give us your best deal and we'll mole it over. He said "that's not how we work, if I am going to call the owner we need a guarantee that you will sign tonight"
We walked out. They met us in the parking lot. With 0 down and $250 a month.
After all this negotiation on payment we realized we were paying full sticker price.

Kelley blue book says that car retails between $21,500 and $23,500 (another scam lie)
We left cause my wife has no credit but makes $20,000 a month (she's a doctor) she said no to me co-signing that night (I have a credit score of 767)
If we go back with me co-signing with a 767 credit score and my wife's monthly income of $20,000 a month…
could we negotiate a total price of the car at an even $20,000
so my main question is can they sell a 2016 honda civic el-x with nav MSRP 23,500 for $20,000? (they are going to lie and say the MSRP is $25,000) but no matter is $20,000 too low for them or could we go any lower?

How to fix fidgety car locks?
My drivers door and ignition key holes in my 1999 Honda accord always give me problems. Every single time I use them I have to wiggle the key for a few seconds for it to work. How can I fix this issue? I haven t found much information online. Thanks!

Steam coming from 2000 Honda Accord 4cyl engine bay?
When I got home after a drive around town today, I noticed a slight scent coming from my air vents (AC was NOT being used). After parking, I discovered a light but noticeably steam was coming out of the grill/hood area, checked the engine but could not find an apparent source. Looked underneath the car, and the steam appeared to be emitting from the portion of the exhaust underneath the engine, suggesting fluids leaking onto the exhaust? Fluid/coolant levels are all normal, engine temp gage is reading normally, and there are no other symptoms. Drove again and couldn't replicate the issue. Any thoughts?
Added (1). Scent didn't match up with descriptions of failed heater core smells, and there aren't really any other telltale heater core failure symptoms

Should I get a second car loan?
So recently some idiot made a left turn in front of me and totaled my 2010 Honda civic which I am financing. I do not have gap insurance, so I got royally screwed. After insurance sends a check to the bank I will still owe 5300 on a car i no longer have. I do not have money to pay this off right away, but still need another car right away as i have just started a new job. Should i go get a new car and a new loan? I have a 717 credit score and have my father to cosign, who also has good credit. I also know dealerships do deals in february… Any opinions on this?

I don't think the car will be used for a family vehicle other than for a transportation to myself and sometimes my girlfriend as well.
But then, I want a car that won't hit over 3000 rpm going just 70mph.

How to keep it running good?
Yesterday I bought a 1998 Honda Accord LX automatic for $1500 and it has 183,000 miles on it. It runs amazingly, but it needs new brake rotors which are getting replaced this weekend. I'm just worried the transmission will slip like what has happened to others. The car has a new starter, new spark plugs and spark plug wires and a new battery. I love this car and I want to keep it running good, are there any tips on how to make this car survive over 300k miles?

How to reset maintenance minder on 2014 Honda Civic si?
I brought my car in for service ( oil & filter change) and when I got it back I reset my maintenance minder but it's been showing the service code "B1" which is engine oil and filter change and also a tire rotation.
I brought it to my local Honda dealership and they reset it again but it still shows and the service code won't go away. Does anyone know how to get rid of this please? Thanks!

So im a 19 year old college male and im boutta purchase a new car not new new because its time to get rid of my old car(honda accord 2001), and there is nothing wrong with it i just think its time to change to a different car i decided that i will be either getting a lexus is250 (2008 or 2009) around there and my other option is acura tsx which is 2009-2012 around those year models. And imma customize it little bit but what car do you think i should get like they both look so nice and they both have such a nice body, and dont worry i can find both of these models in good condition i just dont know which one looks better tbh what do you guys think?

Do I need to check for loose nuts in my old car?
I have a 2001 honda crv. When I check the source of a clunk noise in it I found a loose nut in the control bar. I tightened it and no noise now. Do I need to check all the other nuts with somebody? Is there any such kind of service for old cars?

What is a good and somewhat fast car under 5k?
I'm looking for a decent car that won't cause me too much trouble like breaking down or bad mpg. And that it has some speed in it not necessarily looking for a FAST car. But also don't want a car like a Honda civic or an integra or something like that. Maybe something more like a mercury Milan, a cts, mazda 3, etc. But yeah any cars you can think of would be great! Is this a symptoms of a starter switch problem on a motorcycle?
My bike, a 2015 Shadow, has a recall for the starter relay switch. Honda says the problem could cause the bike to stall.
My bike has stalled on occasion when starting out in first gear (in 25 years I've never been one to stall my bike), but it also frequently feels like it's running rough. Other days it ride more smoothly (as smooth as a v-twin can), but then there have been few times (4-5) where it's running rough, I suddenly get a burst of power (almost like I dropped a gear), and then it seems to be running smoother.
My dealer says my bike didn't have the recall issue. Are they wrong or does this seem like it's something else (or is it in my head)

Why does my maintence reminder still show service code after an oil change?
I brought my car (Honda civic si 2014) into Honda dealership for a scheduled oil change and when I got my car back after about an hour I checked my oil life right away and it wasn t reset or anything. I thought Honda was supposed to reset it, so I did it myself.
Also after resetting my oil life, it shows a "B1" service code indicating to "change oil &filter". Is it possible that they didn t change it? Before the service I was arguing about them scratching my rim with a impact drill from prior service but they didn t wanna help me. I m just curios cause it s annoying seeing the service code after it s been changed already. What should I do?

I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok?
I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?

Burning Excessive Oil, Bad PCV?
I recently bought an 2005 2.4 Honda Accord with 132k miles. Everything on the car is well tooken care of except burning oil. Now I did some research and said it could be a bad pcv valve. I have no leaking oil or oil in the intake and the throttle body. I put a piece of paper over the exhaust for a minute, nothing on the paper. The engine light is on saying a bad o2 sensor, replaced that and the engine light is still on. This is really confusing me and putting me in a loop. As they say there is always a reason someone sells a car. Hopefully mine doesn't have blow by or anything. Thanks!

My Honda Eterno scooter does not start with a kick?
My Honda Eterno scooter is 10 yrs in usage with no problems. Now a days some times it does not start with the kick. The kick seems to be loose, as if when you try to kick the scooter by pressing the clutch. This is an intermittent problem. But when it happens in the middle of the road, it causes a lot of inconvenience.

What kind of fuel should my 2006 Honda civic get?
I just recently got the car. The car that I owned before was an older '97 model and I was used to getting regular(87 octane) gas for it. With this car, I got it from a used dealer/car shop and the car had little gas in it. So when I purchased the car, I had to go straight to the gas station to fill it up and I used the regular grade. The car was fine that day, but the next morning the check engine light came on. Everything was inespected, or so I've been told, from the oil being changed, brakes, transmission etc. I recently went back to the dealer so they could check the engine to see what was causing the light to be on. After the mechanic did his thing, he asked me what kind of grade of gas I was using and I told him regular which he then told me that that was the cause of the light being on and that I should use plus (89 octane) instead since its a newer model car. However, in the manual it said to use grade 87 OR UP. So basically should I listen to the manual or the mechanic? And while I'm waiting for my gas to deplete so that I can use the next grade, could anything acutely serious happen to my engine or am I fine for now and just use the next grade higher next time?

D4 flashing after radiator replaced in 95 honda accord?
took my 95 Honda Accord to a repair shop to have my radiator replaced. I got home the next day turn my car on and might be four light was flashing I put it in drive I can go a little bit but I can tell that the transmission is not acting properly I haven't had a issue with his car before transmission wise this is the first time this has happened but only after I changed the radiator replaced the radiator at the repair shop. I have read in other fourms that a flashing light means there's an issue with the transmission just trying to see if anyone else had this issue after changing the radiator and was wondering how much this cost to fix or if it's a simple fix our parts need to be replaced any help would be greatly appreciated just did the engine swap on this car and my funds are limited thanks

Why does my 2015 Honda Accord Sport make a squealing/screech noise?
Whenever I first start my car and put it in reverse, the transmission makes a brief screech noise. It ll do it on occasion if I switch it into park.
It s still a new car and I don t think it should be doing this. What might the problem be?

Turbocharged Honda Accord or Miata?
I have a Honda Accord EX V6 2001 Auto with 200000 plus miles and I'm thinking to put a turbo on it for some unicorn power. I going to rebuild the engine either way. Yet, I have my eyes on the future goal on putting a V8 on a Miata. The Miata would look dirt nasty form the outside and will have the eternal power of a roaring V8.
Ive been with the Honda for 2 years now and the only big thing that I had to repair is the transmission which cost 1000+ to repair. It doesn't have a Cat, broken gasket between engine and trans (that's why I want to rebuild so I can fix the gasket.) Other than that the Honda runs great.
With the Miata, Ill need to buy it then later on in a few years ill have to swap in a V8. Itll probably have an old 5.0 off a mustang or twin turbo. Ill be a long project car.
My limit is probably going to be 4 thousand on the Honda and for the Miata they usually cost less than 3000 in good condition. Miata has to be manual and a MK1

Leaking Pipe underneath car? Video included?
2002 Honda civic 132,000 miles
Leak in the driveway so I tried to go underneath but the car is really low so I could took a video with my cellphone and a steel pipe is leaking. It has black smudge all over it. Maybe it hit a bump and got damaged. Any idea what the part is?

Muffler effect air conditioner?
I may be way off on this but I'm basically running out of answers/options with this. So I have an old car (1996 Honda Accord) and I've had it for a year or so. The only problems with the car is that there is a hole in the muffler that causes it to make a loud noise when turning on and while driving it (not the biggest issue). The issue is is that my air conditioner would be cool for about 15-20 minutes then basically give out and just blow out air. Does anyone know if the hole in the muffler would effect it? If not does anyone know if any way i could fix this? The antifreeze is fine btw, got it checked already. Thanks in advance

Okay so I m going to be honest with you I was racing a Honda and a cop happened to see he was on the opposite side of the road he lit up but I guess he couldn t get turned around because I pulled into a parking lot and waited for him but after about a minute he never showed so I left I m pretty sure I m going to get one in the mail but he wasn t radaring when he saw us he was traveling in the opposite direction so can I get a ticket if I wasn t radared going over the limit

2010 honda crosstour making squealing noise?
It started about 2 weeks ago, we took it to where we bought it as it's still under warranty through them and they can't seem to figure out what's wrong with the damn thing.
its making a squealing noise from the rear end over speed bumps and while making right turns and sometimes while going straight but rarely when turning left, what could cause this noise? Every time i take it to them to have the guy ride with us to hear for the noise of course it doesn't happen but then right after we leave it starts happening! Whats back there that could be making this noise?

In a few days imma try put seafoam in my 1993 Honda Accord Lx F22a1. I want to use the whole bottle so is it best to pour 1/3 in brake booster line, 1/3 in gas tank, and 1/3 in oil or is it a different process?

Hello, I am having an issue with my power steering pump on my 1996 honda accord?
Whenever I start the car with the engine cold, I hear a sort of grinding or whirring noise coming from right around the power steering pump. I am not sure if it is the pulley or the pump itself making the noise. And also, I have a leak problem. There is what I am pretty sure to be power steering fluid all over the general area in which the pump and reservoir are, even over the alternator and belts which are right below it. I can not find the source of the leak. It drips down to the ground right below the pump. Also My power steering fluid inside the reservoir bubbles up when the car starts running. Anybody have any ideas on what the issue may be?
