Long story short, I was pulling out of a parking spot in a parking lot and a guy driving through the lot hit me enough to where my bumper came off, the foam thingy flew off, and seems the clips are damaged. That seems to be all the damage since his car was lower than mine and my headlights dodged everything. He got the worst of it.
I have insurance, but as the moron I am, have a $1000 deductible. I've always meant to lower it and put it off, and now regret it. I live in a no fault state, but not sure if I will be put at fault anyway since I should yield to the person in the lane, although:
1) A pickup truck was parked 2 feet outside his line forward which made me have to scoot up farther to look for oncoming traffic. 2) The other car could have easily missed me if he was paying attention (which he told me he wasn't) and was on his half of the lane instead of driving down the middle.
So yeah. Looking for some insight on how much this will cost me. Also, should I just toss the bumper he tore off? It's cracked on the side he hit…
