I have a 2006 Honda CR-V in need of a new filter and I have narrowed it down to two possible choices. Pretty much all I care about is a clean, dust free engine.
This is an actual Honda filter:

This is the corresponding K&N:

Does the K&N offer $60 worth of performance? It's a CR-V, so obviously I'm not racing, nor do I care about horsepower, but I use my car everyday for work so I want to keep my engine running as smoothly as possible for as long as possible. Does the K&N do this or does it just give more intake? Because I'm not spending the money if it doesn't filter any better than the stock filter.
Also if there is another manufacturer that makes a better product that will keep my engine cleaner and running longer please feel free to leave a product number or a link.
