My parents bought me a brand new 2014 Elantra and I want to make it last. I know a Hyundai definitly won't last as long as a Toyota or Honda but I'll try to make it last. I believe in oil changes every 5K. Thats what my old man's been doing since he was 16 and thats what he taught me. Should I just be getting a regular maintenance check every time I go to get my oil change? Im 17 and don't have all the money in the world so I was wondering what a maintenance check will cost me, or is it covered under warranty?
Just to let you know what conditions I drive in. I live in canada, harsh conditions right there. But I live in the worst place for driving. We are under constant salt attacks on the car with the most bumpy, broken apart, pot hole covered roads you'll ever drive on. They're horrible. Even the highways aren't smooth. They're still broken and bumpy. All my driving is either highway, or short stop and go trips… So those are my driving conditions
